I found this vineyard on Yelp and we decided to go on a Saturday for wine tasting. You drive down a long road in Johnston, wondering where you are, and suddenly you are at a beautiful, private vineyard. They have tables to sit and drink wine or have lunch, and a flock of very cute fluffy chickens that scatter around. Some families were there and they had ordered a pizza to be delivered there and were drinking a few bottles of wine. We opted to try the 7 wines for $12.00 tasting. The woman doing the tasting was very detailed about the wines and we really enjoyed listening and asking questions. We enjoyed all the white wines with the Cayuga White being our favorite, so we got a bottle of that to take home. I also enjoyed the reds and the rose. The owner was very friendly and loved chatting when we asked about the huge unusual tree - it is his pride and joy - a chestnut tree! We would definitely come back. I do wish they gave more than a very small pour. In some of the wines, we couldn't really get the flavors as there was just not enough wine in the glass to taste fully.

Really good people and really good wine. Me and three others did a wine tasting that was only $12 each for 7 samples. I mainly drink red wine but I loved most of their whites too, including the Chardonnay in Bianco d'Amelia. The girl serving us was incredibly nice and very intelligent. She's only been there a month and retained so much information about the wines. The owner Jim is 86 years old and is hilarious. He was also outside tidying up things. You get a warm, family feeling at this vineyard and a little wine makes it even better.

Relaxing in the vineyard with our selection.

We were greeted by an older gentleman (I believe the owners father) & had a lovely conversation prior to entering for our tasting. The server offering our tasting was hospitable and helpful. The owner even talked to us briefly, prior to engaging with a frequent customer. We selected a bottle to share while enjoying the view of the vineyard. The older gentleman came by again engaging us with further conversation prior to doing some research for the vines. While much of wines were on the dry side, there was a selection of smooth, semisweet or semi dry options.

This may be my favorite Vineyard in the area ( I've been to 3). This is a good one to head to with some friends, bring your lunch and snacks for the day, and just relax. The owner lives onsite and I've been told-though I've never tried--that if you wanna stop by when they're closed just pop in. He's friendly enough that I'm sure that's probably right-but I'll just wait till they're open. Plenty of tables, plenty of space to pace, and plenty of chickens to gawk at.

Thanks to The Boston Globe and JWU Professor Cindy Salvato, we took a field trip to Verde Vineyards on New Year's Day 2023. They are currently pouring four whites and two reds. The red wines were not our favorite but I could see them being delightful when paired with food. We really enjoyed all the white wines with the Cayuga White being our favorite. We met some other wine guys who are going to educate us about CT and western MA vineyards. After a lovely and educational wine tasting, we took a bottle to sit and drink outside. It was just warm enough in the sun to look over the vineyard and enjoy a gorgeous New England day. Thank you for your wine and your knowledge, Verde Vineyards.

Wonderful surprise. Friendly staff and scenic outdoor seating with adorable chickens. We tried Surveyor, a red, and it was delicious. Definitely worth the trip! We are already planning to go back

Best thing about this vineyard is that the wines are not obvious or typical. Two unique whites, two unique reds and all are reasonably priced! This is the perfect spot for a picnic with friends and enjoy the beautiful vineyard!

A hidden gem! Great place to come for some wine. It's a small vineyard but the the wines are excellent. It has plenty of space to sit comfortably away from other people. Bring your own chairs if you want or sit on theirs. It's not usually super busy here compared to Newport vineyards which is always packed. Good if you like less of a crowd in a county setting.

What a cute boutique family-owned vineyard that has unique hybrid varietals. We loved their Itasca white and Petite Pearl. The service was top notch and theres a nice area to sit outside to enjoy your wine.

We had forgotten about this lovely vineyard and turned onto Pound Road! A couple of hundred yards up we turned into the parking lot. The place was busy and there were people sitting outside enjoying wine and an acoustic guitarist strumming away.. The building is rustic with barn board construction, tastefully decorated and there are plenty of couches and tables throughout. The three sided tasting bar had plenty of room . Dave, the owner waited on us directly and we each tasted 4 wines for $5.00 which was very very reasonable. We had not been there for over a year but Dave remembered us and shook my hand. We had a white and 3 reds which were delicious. We purchased a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon for $25.00 and went outside to listen to some music for awhile. All in all a lovely experience and we highly suggest a visit ! They are only open sat and Sunday's.. Here is their web page: www.mulberryvineyards.com That's all folks! Can you beat that? (Answer: no) This was my first time checking out their new location and Gooseneck did a beautiful job. Inside and outside alike are wildly spacious to accommodate all manners of parties and some of the seats are seriously comfy. Can't wait to test out the fire pits. The space is truly gorgeous and liked that they had a food truck on site since they only serve charcuterie boxes in-house (they looked tasty, though!). Good variety of wines to choose from as well as some other NA options. My daughter had a wonderful time bopping to the music. Looking forward to coming back!

"Walk in as strangers, leave as friends."…read more If that's not a saying that makes you want to head there now, then I don't know what is LOL! Obviously, there is more to the new renovated location of La Cantina than this saying but I will say I was pretty impressed when I saw it and knew I had to add it to my review. Let's just say it is pretty accurate. We did leave as friends since we made a few at the bar and then some. Just saying! La Cantina winery in Franklin, MA used to be a small wine bar that offered wine tasting flights and minimal food. BUT, now it is in a stunning new location (not far from their old stomping grounds). Fun Fact: It used to be a Mechanic garage. Well, wait until you see how it has turned from fixing cars to wine making and tasting. YOU HAVE GOT TO COME HERE! Parking is easy with plenty of spots. They have a lot of room at their gorgeous bar, but they also have high tops and tables for families or a large group. And, they host events here too; birthday parties, bridal showers, and anything in between, this place is it. I actually want to hold one of my milestone birthday parties here but well keep the number a secret for now. Service: Alana was our bartender and she was wonderful. Always asking us what we needed and how were doing. You don't get this upscale service any where else. And, when I wanted another sample of something she gave it to me without a fuss. Always with a smile on her face, she was the best. Wine: They have an excellent wine menu to choose from and they offer flights for about $25 pp. Flights are the best way to try multiple wines. I personally loved most of the red wines with Petit Sirah being my favorite. My husband loved their Barbera! I did sample their Sauv Blanc too which was nice but it was too cold to have a full pour. Food: Their menu is great with a ton of options from charcuterie, to tapas and some entrees. I will say some of their items can get expensive but definitely worth it. We started with a few cheeses and prosciutto. Then we ordered one of their popular pizzas called La Cantina. Everything was fresh, made in house with their beautiful pizza oven right smack in the middle of the bar. You have got to see this thing, its huge! Overall: If I could give this place 10 stars I would. We had the best time and we can't wait to go back. Franklin is not far from where we live but still a good 30 minute drive and also not far from the Wrentham outlets. We didn't have to make a reservation for a Sunday afternoon but I bet Saturdays can get pretty busy. I just loved everything about this wine bar and I know you will too! Cheers~

The vineyard has indoor and outdoor seating. We started out with a three wine flight ($22 per flight) from the custom wine flight: Seaport White, Sheer Chardonnay and Cab. Franc. Our favorite was the Sheer Chardonnay. Normally, I don't like Un-Oaked Chardonnay, but this one was excellent. This baby came home with us. The gift shop has some very clever and unique wine related items. In fact, I thought this was the best gift shop in any vineyard I've visited. We purchased a towel, "Let's Drink Wine and Judge People". Customer Service was pretty good. As we were leaving, it appeared that the winery was having a music event on the grounds. Definitely will make a return trip to Stonington Vineyards in Stonington, Ct. Cheers everyone!!!
