Strongly recommend that if you have another option, stay away from Verde Valley Law group/Dana Law group/Austin Blom. We had a horrible experience with the young lawyer Mr. Blom - an experience that no clients should have to go through.
In summary, Mr. Blom over-committed by his firms and chose to ignore our case in favor of other more lucrative tasks. And worse yet, he chose to do so in such an unprofessional way. It is not just about whether he is a good lawyer, but if he behaved as a decent person. I wouldn't have given a single star for this review if zero star is a selection.
I wanted to do a Will and Powers of Attorney package. We scheduled a consultation meeting with him one week before. He cancelled the meeting literally at the last minute - just 10 mins ahead of the meeting time while we were already driving on our way to his office. He blamed it on his office manager for a schedule mix-up. We decided to give him the benefit of doubt, re-scheduled for another day, signed engagement agreement, and still proceeded with him.
We then scheduled the final document signoff meeting one month ahead. Knowing the previous experience, I texted him the afternoon before to confirm the schedule. He texted back to say that all was ready to go the next day as planned. Then came the next day, and 30 mins after the scheduled the time, we were still in his office waiting for him to show up. There was no call or email to alert us why he was not there on time or why he couldn't be there. I texted and called but couldn't get a response. Called his office manager to ask why. Finally he called back after his office manager got hold of him. Then he simply said that he was not going to show up to work my case because he had other clients.
I don't fault him wanting to prioritize his time for what he may consider as more important cases or clients. Understand that his priority is for his financial gain as opposed to my legal needs as a client. My issue is about him not even having the decency to call ahead for cancellation of the meeting or dropping my case. No call, just not showing up, and letting clients hang - who does that?! I don't think I am asking too much for a heads-up. This should have been the minimum commitment for a business to its clients. read more
