But once I spoke with Ashley & Jasmine, they knew exactly what to do. They spent lots of time asking me questions about my dress and what I might like or dislike. Verde Beauty was very difficult to work with. They are inflexible and hard to get ahold of. I struggled to contact them via email and phone. Verde beauty waits until you have no choice but proceed with hiring them, then adds additional random fees to the bill. When you ask about the fees, they ignore you. Furthermore, I hired her for a hair and makeup trial for my bridal photos. I scheduled an appointment, and proceeded to schedule with my florist and photographer. Four days before my bridal photos, Verde calls to tell me they cannot accommodate my appointment. Obviously this was very stressful because of the multiple people involved in the photos. They claimed my artist was in NOLA that day, therefore couldn't do my trial in BR. I was flexible with location (BR vs NOLA) because my photo session was in NOLA. I was informed that if I had my trial in NOLA, there would be an $150 travel fee. This makes no sense. They backed out on my appointment and I was trying to work with them. Why would I be charged an additional fee? When my wedding date approached, I contacted them again to add some services to the contract. They added the services, but demanded an additional deposit of half the remaining balance on the contract. At this point, I'd paid the majority of the cost. Less than 30 days before my wedding, I was informed that there would need to be an additional artist to accommodate the number of services we requested. This added another $150 to the bill. I inquired about this, and was told I would have a dedicated artist as the bride. On my wedding day I did not have a dedicated artist. Actually, my hair and makeup was done simultaneously, causing issues with the makeup application. Verde beauty seems to have a lot of miscommunication and management issues. The artists are great, but hiring them is not worth the headache. read more

I used Verde Beauty for a wedding and paid $2000 for hair and makeup services. We were happy with the hair and makeup provided by the employees but less satisfied with the way everything was handled by Tina, the owner. I have written why I was unhappy on three sites (Google, the Knot, and Yelp) and Tina has somehow managed to get all of them removed. So, I'm not sure why I'm not allowed to share my experience but I guess I know why she has such a high rating. read more

Today I went to Verde Beauty Studio. Gorgeous, quiet, clean, salon, with professional staff. The ambiance was that of a historic home repurposed for business use. Sarah preformed microblading on me, she is compelling and petite. Previous to my visit she had given me numbing cream with instructions to apply 1hour prior to appointment, didn't feel a thing. We reviewed eyebrow shapes and color before getting started and found the right fit for me. The session took approx 45min, it flew in no time. My eyebrows are perfect, beautiful, and better than expected. I would HIGHLY recommend Verde Beauty Studio and Sarah for your makeup and microblading needs. read more

Chey is amazing. Period. Chey came to New Orleans to do hair for a wedding I was in. She did the bridesmaids and maid of honor's hair. She was on time, super polite and amazing at her job. She took my super curly hair, straightened it, and made an awesome half up do for the ceremony. Did not know she came from Baton Rouge, so I am even more appreciative to her for coming in town! I'll have to thank the bride for that one. If I am ever in need for on site hair in Baton Rouge or New Orleans (hey, you never know) I will be calling Verde and asking for Chey. read more

Verde Beauty is an appointment only private hair and makeup studio that specializes in special events. I found them by online search and booked an appointment for hair/makeup/lashes for an outdoor wedding photo shoot with a vintage/slightly pin-up feel to it. Tina really took her time getting my hair like I wanted it, which wasn't terribly easy since there was also a birdcage veil to deal with (which I made myself for $5.00--score!). She does airbrush makeup and it felt light and comfortable and looked very natural. The only problem that I had was that we did a very red lip and by the time I got to the hotel to get dressed, my lip color had bled a bit. I don't normally have problems with lip color bleeding, but I usually wear a lip liner with red lipstick. I was still very happy with the overall look. I just removed the lipstick and applied my own and the photos were gorgeous. If I did it again, I would just make sure we used a liner. As for making appointments, I used the contact form on her website. She and I emailed back and forth and set the appointment. The studio is open by appointment only, so you can't just call and talk to someone or walk in. It is a good idea to contact her early because with they way the appointments are booked, I doubt a last minute appointment would work out. It was nice that my friend and I were the only ones there. She does a lot of weddings (onsite and in the studio) and apparently you can have your bridal group all there together and drink some wine while you get ready, which sounds pretty nice to me. Price-wise, I really don't have anyone to compare her with, but I saw the prices at The Gallery and her prices were only very slightly more than there. I would definitely go back again for special occasion makeup and she may be my new hairstylist in general. read more

I went to Tina with Verde for micro-link extensions. I'm trying to grow my hair out and I'm in the awkward length stage, so I decided to get extensions while my hair grew out. The first set, I went to a different salon in Metairie and the girl put in fusion extensions. I reached out to Tina after one fell out because my hair had broken due to the weight and twisting of the fusion extensions. Tina has been amazing. Not only is she great at application, but she talked with me about the best type of extension for my hair. The micro-link have been BEYOND better than the fusion. I've had no breakage of my natural hair, the extensions used look very natural and are shockingly close in texture and color to my natural hair that it's indiscernible to the naked eye. read more

I have worked with the owner/MUA Tina on several occasions for photo shoots and her hair stylist, Chey. Tina has a wonderful and bubbly personality that makes you feel right at home. She did my hair and makeup many times even at TF rate for portfolio building purposes and such. She has the cutest little pom puppy that frolicked about but caused no trouble. She is super sweet and friendly and really talented. I have been acquaintances with her for over 5 years and she is really talented. She even did makeup for me one day and I traveled all the way to another state and the makeup lasted and my hair held up. She's really good with an airbrush machine, too. We worked together for a bridal shoot and again hair and makeup was beautiful and held up nicely. read more

Verde Beauty Studio and Tina was awesome. It's great knowing someone like Tina who is very knowledgeable about make up and also applying make up to all different skin colors and types. It's really difficult in finding salons in Baton Rouge to find someone like Tina. She was also very easy to talk to and very professional, she was on time and all ready to go. When I talked about k-beauty (Korean Beauty), she knew what I talking about! I was really amazed at her skills doing my hair (which took her maybe 15-20 minutes) and my make up (natural look). It is a bit pricey to get Tina to do it because she has a lot of experience but it's totally worth it! I highly recommend Tina and Verde Beauty! read more

I only gave a star because I had to! When planning my wedding I dealt with many vendors, this by far was the most upsetting and disappointing. I gave a month's notice I would have to cancel my bridal portrait appointment due to a family emergency. It was devastating enough I wouldn't be able to take bridal pictures as it was, but Verde took the FULL PAYMENT from my bank account and refused to refund any of the compensation. I had given my account information for the deposit to reserve the date, it was NEVER explained to me they would take the full amount and that this would be non refundable. I was out $350 for NO services rendered!! I was forced to get a lawyer to settle the matter. Would not recommend their services to my worst enemy!! read more

I visited the studio today for a body wrap. Tina was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions before and during my appointment. I could go on and on about the wrap bc it was that awesome. Met the owner and her mother at a bridal show and spoke briefly with them about wedding services. The owner was nice, but her mother was extremely overbearing in promoting the salon. I could barely speak with the owner about services without the mother just raving about how great the salon is. I felt very pressured as she kept repeating herself. I understand she's proud of her daughter, but I needed information about the services.. Not incessant compliments about her daughter or pressure to book her before even looking elsewhere. After finally getting away from her I told my fiancé I thought she smelled faintly of marijuana, and he said he noticed it too. I hope to God it was someone else. I recently called (the number google provided, which was apparently a cell phone) and asked about a color appointment. I figured I'd feel them out before I decided on using them for my wedding, plus I got a $25 discount coupon for a service at the salon that expires 5 months before my big day, so why not? I was told she'd call me back in about an hour. She never even asked for my name. After 3 hours without a call I called again and got a voicemail. I wasn't called back until 4 hours after my second call. She said she was returning my call, as if she had completely forgotten she was supposed to call me back in the first place. Sorry Verde, you just lost my business. The unprofessionalism on both occasions was astonishing. read more
