Before we started I told her that I'd rather we err on the side of dark rather than going too light. I also told her I wanted low maintenance highlights, as I go awhile between appointments. After 4 hours in the chair, I left with bright and incredibly brassy money pieces. They change the whole look AND they start about an inch and a half away from my hairline. This was the most I've ever paid for my hair and the least I've ever liked it, and I've been highlighting my hair for 7 years now.

Aside from the cut being what I wanted, the shampoo smelling nice and the blowout looking fresh, meh. It was a salon. A nice one. A clean one. And bonus, close to home. The next time I made an appointment I was told only one of the owners had time during that day/slot and the price would be a little higher. I was again like, "meh", but I had an important work thing coming up and had left my hair to the last minute (as always) so I said WTH and went with the higher price option. Oh My Goodness I was so glad I did. You'll be in EXPERT hands with either Janie or Ken. That extra couple of bucks, if you can spare it, is worth every penny. Seriously. Like I said, my hair is not hard to work with. But the cut I got that day was the best haircut of my life. Sometimes my ends flip a weird way, but the magic of Janie & Ken's scissors made my ends flip the way I want them to. Always! Even if I air-dry my hair, it behaves. I kept going back and now it's been a couple years and JKL is the ONLY salon in Baton Rouge for me. Because they are closed after I get off of work, I decided to take the 8AM Saturday slot. It was so busy this morning! But, I got my hair washed, blown out, and trimmed all within 45 minutes. Sydney knew exactly what I wanted with my hair and was very friendly. I will totally be using her again! In total, it was $60, which for a trim I think is a little high, but that's the normal price these days.

I reached out to Trinh on Yelp and she was extremely flexible with scheduling, informative, and even more personable once I came in for my appointment. Since then, I've become a repeat customer and she's always very flexible with scheduling my refills. Trinh is honestly probably the only person that I will ever go to for eyelash extensions. I've gotten numerous compliments on my eyelashes. She absolutely customizes the extensions to suit your features and your style. She's great about explaining the techniques, she's easy to talk to, but you also have the option to nap since the first time getting extensions can take like 2 hours. I've heard from other people who get extensions elsewhere that they could feel the weight of their extensions, see the glue on their lashes, or that their lashes were damaged after getting extensions. Trinh truly takes the time and uses quality materials so that none of that has happened to me. I don't even notice the extensions unless I happen to be checking them out, everyone tells me how natural the extensions look, and I can still tell that my natural lashes are still healthy and long (just sad and straight without Trinh's extensions). Overall, highly recommend Trinh's salon. I haven't gotten my hair done here yet, but I'm sure I would in the future.

I am super picky when it comes to my hair because I've gotten it lightened before at other places that completely botched my hair and made it bronze. Trinh worked her magic and in about 2 hours and ONE session I got my hair to the color I wanted. I liked her technique and how she applied the color in layers and gave it depth. It came out soooo amazing. The salon was cute and stylish and Trinh herself was amazing and so fun to talk to. I definitely will be going back because I found my new hair salon!
