The crown eventually had worn a hole through it, and a cavity had developed. The doctor did the cavity repairs, and installed a new crown. That was several months ago. I had complained about the pain over the next few days. I began wondering at that point as to whether the doctor should have done a root canal. The doctor sent me to another doctor that "evaluated" it, and decided a root canal was not necessary at this time. I am on Social Security, and that second opinion cost me over $300 out-of-pocket. So now I have to find another dentist to fix this problem.

Unfortunately, the tooth needed to be extracted, and it was by far the most painful extraction I've ever experienced. I've had other teeth extracted before, so I understand the difference between normal pressure and actual pain. I told Dr. Wiese several times that I was in pain, and I was in tears during the procedure, but no additional anesthetic was offered. I left feeling that my pain was not taken seriously. I was also disappointed that my prescription had not been sent to the pharmacy by 4:00 p.m. When I called, I was told their computer system had been down and that my prescription had been forgotten when the system came back online. While I appreciate being seen on short notice, the painful procedure and the lack of follow-through with my prescription left me with little confidence in the care I received. I will not be returning.

It was a herculean task to get him to communicate with the other professionals he referred me to. He delayed my treatment and wouldn't even say hello, whenever he had to interact with me (which were rare occasions). I assumed that he didn't realize the difficulty of the case, and knew he was probably not capable of doing the job. He could have just said so, instead of treating me in such an unethical, inhumane and humiliating fashion at the most vulnerable time in my life. His assistant probably noticed and attempted to make up for his rude and unprofessional behavior, and that was very appreciated (she is a sweetheart.) His hygienists are amazing and I am so thankful for them. Do us all a favor and retire, Dr. Margeas! You ARE NOT God's gift to dentistry, as you think you are. I went to God's gift to dentistry, and he is humble, kind, ethical, humane and probably one of the most competent REAL cosmetic dentists in the US ( Dr. Sam Sadati.) The location is easy to find. The building looks nice from the outside. When I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the front desk. Its a nice open floor plan. I checked in and filled out my health questionnaire. My appointment started on time. I was at ease right away with my hygienist, Brooke. She was very nice and was easy to talk to. She really had her work cut out for her since it had been a minute since I had an appointment. She listened to me when I had questions about my appointment and played along with me when I let her pick the flavor to use to clean my teeth. My dentist, Dr Erickson, came in and was very kind as well. I really appreciated the time they spent with me. I am happy with the move I made to the new dentist. I hope to have the same great experience going forward. As a bonus as I was getting ready to leave. I looked out the back window and a herd of city deer came up and were wandering the yard. I'm so glad Country Club dental proved me wrong!! The front staff here is superb. They are friendly and available to answer questions. It has always been easy to schedule and reschedule my appointments. I also have not had any problems with them accepting my insurance. They even offer a membership plan so that you don't need insurance to have dental services here if you become a member! I was seen by Dr. Gray and his assistant Sammie. Both are absolutely fabulous. They are very friendly, funny, and personable. Two weeks ago I had a dental cleaning. Sammie was very gentle taking topical pictures of my teeth. I think there was another device used to detect the density of my teeth too. I was impressed (and never got this type of service in Chicago!). They really check for everything here! Dr. Gray thoroughly reviewed my teeth, X-rays, gum recession and density and photos of my teeth. I was really impressed with the examination and the technology used here. They really care about dental health. At the end of my appointment I was even given an option of a manual toothbrush or a sonicare type replacement head for my electric toothbrush. WHAT?!!? My mind was blown that I had these options! During my appointment I had mentioned that my Chicago dentist had recommended to fill cavities of two of my wisdom teeth and that I wanted to move forward with that procedure. I also mentioned that I was prescribed some special toothpaste to prevent further decay and wanted that refilled. Dr. Gray immediately called in the prescription to my pharmacy to refill the toothpaste and we scheduled another appointment for a cavity filling. Done and done! Today....two weeks later...I just got my two cavities filled and felt compelled to write this Yelp review for Dr Gray and his team at Country Club Dental (and these days I'm only writing reviews for those places that are truly special to me). I'm not the type of person that is usually scared of the dentist, but I was anxious today because of my small mouth and possible difficulty maneuvering within the small space. But they had all the tools necessary to make this experience SO EASY. My small mouth was not an issue at all and I did not feel any pain! I had to open my eyes every so often just to check if my mouth was still being worked on because I was so comfortable and didn't feel anything during the procedure! They also had a device (that amazed me because I never had it in Chicago) that allowed me to comfortably rest my mouth, while still keeping it open, and sucked up the particles/water in my mouth during the procedure. I'll be annoyed if Dr. Gray gets booked up because of this review but life isn't all about me so I'll be okay to share him and his team. ;-) I initially heard about Country Club dental from a friend who raved about Dr. Fung. I'm sure all the dentists here are wonderful but I'm sticking with Dr. Gray. =)

I've switched so many times and received so many x-ray exams that I wouldn't be surprised if my teeth are glowing green by now (that's how x-rays work, right?). There didn't seem to be a dedicated front office clerk but a hygienist came to the front to check me in and informed me of the forms I needed to sign. When the dentist came to see me, she listened to my concerns and answered my questions. She also explained her procedures before she went to town on my chompers. They seemed a bit understaffed (maybe because it's close to a holiday weekend?) but the service was professional and courteous enough for me to go back for my next cleaning.
