My experience was stressful and traumatic. Went to have filling replaced and just as he was about…read moreto fill it, his assistant noticed the tooth was cracked so it needed to be pulled. He didn't see it. That took full 30 min from the first tug, tool slipping and beating on my gums and other teeth. Finally, he went to get a different tool and in less than a minute he had the tooth out. Why didn't he do that before my gums were scratched and beat up? It was my first visit and last. Too bad because he's a nice guy, good conversation, interesting.....would like him for a neighbor but won't be my dentist. It's been 4 mo. Still not completely healed.

But there is room for a lot of improvement. Their ability to answer phone calls and or to reach out to their patients for billing is exceptionally low. Recently I was served with papers at my residence for an over-due bill from 4 years ago. I have been going to this dentist for over 10 years. They have all my contact information including my phone number, email, home address and my mothers phone number and email, yet out of the 4 years that this bill was due, neither one of us were reached out to or notified of this issue. Due to them choosing to reach out to an attorney instead of me I had to pay my over-due bill and a $100 attorney fee. I've always been on top of bills and whatever fees I have due so this situation could've gone so much better for myself and them. But I had to learn that unfortunately East Des Moines Dental does NOT care for their patients they are treating for and are only caring for what money they can get out of people. Just a warning for first time patients and or patients who have been loyal for many years, they WILL NOT have you back on financial terms.
