Went to Kerby Family Dntal P.C. this morning for an appt. upon entering the other ladies 2 ladies…read moreseated up front were very nice..while me and the other two ladies were still talking the third one on the end yelled my name to come down to her..she said my name wrong so I corrected her..that was fine she does not know me so harm done..she gave me my paperwork explained thwm to me and I filled them out took them back to her and she asked for insurance I tried to explain to her I had blue cross for dental also..then I proceeded to give her my coventry card she said super nasty we dnt take that" ," Is it thru the Iowa wellness program" she said just tell me your employer real nasty!!and I asked her 3xs to hold on while I looked for a Delta Dental card since she wouldn't take the first blue cross card I provided,,she just keeps saying my name wrong and ghetto I feel on purpose over and over again saying "Tell me your employer"!! So that was it with me after asking her to hold on several times,I told her she was being rude ,and that was her job and I am the customer" she continues to roll her eyes and say things under her breath where I could not hear her..Then the dentist walks out and says hey you two hold it down you are loud or something in that order..so I just shutup and so did she..I had a seat after that, a lady came out from the back and called my name I went back and said no thank I did not want to be seen there the lady up front was rude they all looked like so and, what do you want us to do? So I left with no intentions on returning ever and as I am driving home Dr.Kerby himself calls me and says I was rude to his employee and do not come back(which I never was anyway) he claimed he was standing there the whole time ,and as a fact he did not come up until the end of the altercation plus he knows he lied or he would have stopped her before it went that far wouldn't you think?? I do!! So I hung up on him and needless to say I will be contacting my insurance company and lawyer about this whole situation. Dr.Kerbys employee was very rude, loud and she continued to talk to me like I was stupid or ignorant..so I was going to let this situation go when I left his office and just never return, but since the good Dr. had to call and also support what she did while I was driving and I know he knew I was driving because I had just left and I was alone, so that goes to show how much he cares about others also..I will take this all the way now..I would think he would apologize even if he felt I was in the wrong and then say how he felt, it was all handled wrong and very unprofessional..I am very upset and will be seeking legal counsel!!!

I am not complaining about this bill - okay, I got the service so I would pay them, even though neither I was told at that time of service. But with concerning about too much dental cost I paid this year for my children, I asked them for a pre-estimation for one of my kids upcoming treatment so I can better know how much I would pay for the service. The receptionist refused to submit any pre-estimation because she doesn't know what exactly my daughter would get for her next appointment. Well, she had an appointment in two weeks and they better know what kind of service they would provide with. I worked at an insurance company before, and majority of dental offices submit pre-estimation for themselves and customers for better idea how much would be paid by insurance and would be patient's responsibility. It is a simple paper work any dental provider can provide to their customer because they know the service codes and their service fees that we don't know in advance. She finally said I may pay around $400 if my insurance doesn't pay any, and I need figure it out my responsibility on my own. I asked them to cancel my upcoming appointment, she said "Okay, perfect!"

I moved to Iowa and needed to find a new dentist. I really didn't think I'd find a place that met…read morethe same caliber of service I received in Chicago (which is supposed to be better because it's bigger right?!?! WRONG!). I'm so glad Country Club dental proved me wrong!! The front staff here is superb. They are friendly and available to answer questions. It has always been easy to schedule and reschedule my appointments. I also have not had any problems with them accepting my insurance. They even offer a membership plan so that you don't need insurance to have dental services here if you become a member! I was seen by Dr. Gray and his assistant Sammie. Both are absolutely fabulous. They are very friendly, funny, and personable. Two weeks ago I had a dental cleaning. Sammie was very gentle taking topical pictures of my teeth. I think there was another device used to detect the density of my teeth too. I was impressed (and never got this type of service in Chicago!). They really check for everything here! Dr. Gray thoroughly reviewed my teeth, X-rays, gum recession and density and photos of my teeth. I was really impressed with the examination and the technology used here. They really care about dental health. At the end of my appointment I was even given an option of a manual toothbrush or a sonicare type replacement head for my electric toothbrush. WHAT?!!? My mind was blown that I had these options! During my appointment I had mentioned that my Chicago dentist had recommended to fill cavities of two of my wisdom teeth and that I wanted to move forward with that procedure. I also mentioned that I was prescribed some special toothpaste to prevent further decay and wanted that refilled. Dr. Gray immediately called in the prescription to my pharmacy to refill the toothpaste and we scheduled another appointment for a cavity filling. Done and done! Today....two weeks later...I just got my two cavities filled and felt compelled to write this Yelp review for Dr Gray and his team at Country Club Dental (and these days I'm only writing reviews for those places that are truly special to me). I'm not the type of person that is usually scared of the dentist, but I was anxious today because of my small mouth and possible difficulty maneuvering within the small space. But they had all the tools necessary to make this experience SO EASY. My small mouth was not an issue at all and I did not feel any pain! I had to open my eyes every so often just to check if my mouth was still being worked on because I was so comfortable and didn't feel anything during the procedure! They also had a device (that amazed me because I never had it in Chicago) that allowed me to comfortably rest my mouth, while still keeping it open, and sucked up the particles/water in my mouth during the procedure. I'll be annoyed if Dr. Gray gets booked up because of this review but life isn't all about me so I'll be okay to share him and his team. ;-) I initially heard about Country Club dental from a friend who raved about Dr. Fung. I'm sure all the dentists here are wonderful but I'm sticking with Dr. Gray. =)

My son had a ton of cavities when he was a bit younger, and they did such a good job with him. The dentist even called us those nights my son had work done to check in and see how he was feeling. I've never www experienced that kind of patient care from a dentist before. I was very impressed, and continue to be with this place.

Due to travels and wanting to find a new dentist, it was 15 months since my last visit to a dentist. West Des Moines Dental was recommended by a friend. It took a few months to be able to schedule an appointment and with precautions changing daily about the Coronavirus, I wasn't sure I would be able to keep my appointment. I was asked to fill out a brief questionnaire but was able to keep my appointment. Upon meeting Julie, the hygienist, I immediately told her my fears and that I had an unpleasant experience with the last hygienist I visited. Julie was very understanding and extremely gentle; she gave me a stress ball to squeeze and told me to raise my hand if I needed a break. She did a full set of X-rays, using the child size to better fit my small mouth (no jokes please!). The cleaning went much smoother than anticipated and Dr, Allie did a brief exam. I was happy no follow up was needed and scheduled my next appointment before leaving.

The assistant took xrays, which was uncomfortable, but not a new experience for me because I have a shallow mouth. The shocker came when Dr. Edwards looked at the xrays and informed me that I had NINE cavities that needed fillings. I was immediately suspicious, because I had been to my regular dentist in Ames about a year before that and had no concerns. I brushed my teeth and flossed, and I was shocked to hear her say I would need to get them all fixed soon. Luckily for me, my guard was up and I told her I would schedule an appointment later. Honestly, I didn't believe her diagnosis and I wanted another opinion. I ended up returning to my dentist in Ames 6 months later, and what do you know, I have NO cavities. I have two areas that are weakened and that they are watching, but no cavities. Not a single one! It is clear to me that Dr. Edwards is either not very good at her job, or was trying to intentionally grab money from me. I'm unsure of which is worse. Regardless, I will NOT be returning, and am warning everyone I know to avoid this place!
