This is a wonderful farm if you want to see animals up close. We saw and got to feed alpacas,…read moreostriches, emus, lamp/sheep. If you're planning on visiting, make a reservation for ether a group or private tour. The group tour is $15 per person while the private tour is $150 for the entire group. The only drawback with the group tour is you don't know how many people might be in it. We had almost 40 in our group and that was a bit too many in my opinion. When you arrive, check-in is inside the red barn. They'll let you know which group tour you belong to. They have port o' potties and hand washing stations behind the barn. If you end up getting any food from the food truck (ostrich sliders and ostrich philly steak style sandwiches), you can bring it into the barn where there's picnic style tables and benches. The "gift shop" is also inside the barn. If you do come on wet day or after it rains, be sure to wear appropriate shoes...it can get muddy as you walk from one animal area to another.

Their tour was running late- by late I mean 40 minutes... so we had to shuffle things around party wise. The tour consists I of seeing the animals. Didn't realize that the Ostrich were there for lol meat purposes. During the tour kiddos got to feed them. They have a few different areas to roam, with some tables. It's a decent sized place. I think it could use some TLC though.

I was worried when I drank that, but was very pleased with the wines. The White Pinot Noir was very nice, the rose, and the Barrel Select was amazing as well. We had a really good experience here. Love supporting small wineries like this one!

We arrived a few minutes before our reserved time and decided to walk the property and take a few pictures. The views and grounds are stunning! We were greeted by Greg, who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history and wines. He allowed us to select where we wanted to be seated, we chose a shady spot on the patio. Greg shared that he had been with the family owned business for exactly 1 year the day that we were there! We told him he deserved a bottle of the reserve Pinot Noir as an anniversary gift, he was great and treated us so kind and never rushed us. We chose to try the Reserve Flight and a charcuterie board. The wine is delicious especially the last 2 Pinot Noirs on the reserved flight menu!! It was a perfect way to spend a Saturday and we will definitely be back! The only bummer is we did not get to meet the owner/family but Greg certainly made up for it.

To celebrate West Linn's centennial this year, the city offered a number of special events. One of…read moremy favorites, as a student of history, were the monthly historical walking tours in different neighborhoods throughout West Linn. This first walk in January started at the McLean House and the series just concluded here as well. It is a beautiful venue that I consider to be West Linn's grand house. Sure there are plenty of modern mansions much more extravagant in scale and decor, but this is a beautifully restored and maintained historic home that is a lovely remembrance of times gone by and my city's roots. The home was given to the city by the McLean family after the construction of the Abernethy bridge drastically altered their river view. It is still a lovely location with a park like setting out back featuring a gazebo built by the local Lions Club. The interior has been restored with an eye to matching the original decor as closely as possible. For example, upstairs in the Groom's Room there is a nautical theme and you will see the wallpaper is very close to the original paper still present in the closet. The Bride's Room is the former master suite and my favorite room in the house is the sitting room with fireplace and red couch just off to the side. A close second is the sun room on the main floor downstairs. The original light fixtures are beautiful and there are enough updates to make this a comfortable entertaining venue. It is frequently the location for weddings, reunions and historic events in our city. The next public event on the calendar is the cookie exchange in December. I applaud the Friends of McLean House for doing such a wonderful job maintaining this historic structure and opening it to the public.

With the planning over months, I never felt rushed or pressured. She thought through the way we organized the room so it fit best as to what I was looking for. She had great solutions to how to make the reception flow and to arrange the room. I sent emails with my many questions and she would answer each one. I never felt like I was being annoying emailing her so much or so often and was always available. I was so impressed with how she organized and set up the wedding and catering and it was the most perfect wedding day. It's a beautiful venue - we used the decks and the inside and it was beautiful. It's a great location on the river (Willamette) in Lake Oswego. It was amazing for guests to be inside and outside on all the decks and to be able to utilize them this June. I will always recommend the foundry for any event especially weddings! The food and the service was impeccable. The dance floor was an easy transition in the night and they were so easy to work with. I highly recommended the Foundry for any wedding or special event! I had the most perfect wedding and the best day of my life! Thank you to The Foundry!
