DO NOT STAY HERE I…read morefollowed the hotel's own policy by calling ahead to confirm my late check-in, and two different employees told me I was good to go. When I showed up just after midnight, my entire reservation was canceled without warning. The GM wouldn't help and made me pay out of pocket 7x more than I had paid originally. She just said her "hands were tied" and there's nothing she could do. (As the GM? Nothing you can do?) The hotel itself was a a little rough--our room was never cleaned over the course of our 4-night stay, front desk staff was unhelpful, and basic requests (like an extra blanket) were denied for ridiculous reasons. Never again for me

I will say, I do like the river next to the hotel. The road noise is loud during the day, and drowns the river noise out though. Six years later I returned and was very disappointed with the upkeep on the room. The floors were clean, but sticky, the furniture was gross and stained, and the walls dirty. Every single contact I had with female front desk staff was superiorly negative. The long-haired guy at night was awesome, and very accommodating. But those other ladies, yikes! Whether by phone or in person, they were just nasty to us. As if I was begging for food, or stealing from them. All I wanted to do was check in! Staff alone motivates me to skip this property in the future, not the mention the poor upkeep.

First class FREE! What's your excuse? Let's dance, PDX!…read more Ready to shake off stress, laugh with friends, and learn something new? The Basics Ballroom is where you want to be. Their slogan says it all: "Start Learning the Basics of Ballroom Partner Dance!" My husband, friends, and I have been coming weekly since February, and we've been hooked ever since. It's fun, social, affordable, and a fantastic way to move your body, no experience necessary. Our instructors, Grant and Madalin, are the real stars of the show. They're warm, energetic, and welcoming to everyone whether you're a total beginner or brushing up your moves. They bring the perfect mix of technical precision and encouragement, making each class feel empowering and enjoyable. First class is FREE, seriously, there's no catch. Just show up, give it a try, and see if you fall in love like we did. No partner? No problem. Just bring yourself (and maybe your dancing shoes though not required). Group and private lessons are available, and the rates are incredibly reasonable. Whether you're curious about ballroom, Latin, or something in between, there's a class that'll get your body moving. Contact Info: Facebook: The Basics Ballroom Instagram: @thebasicsballroom Email: thebasicsballroom@outlook.com Facility notes: - The AC and heating can be unpredictable, so dress in layers. You'll warm up quickly once you're dancing anyway. - Not all ceiling fans are operational yet. - Each restroom stall could use its own trash can. - Free street parking is plentiful, which makes coming here even easier. P.Y. Toilet seat covers provided in the women's restroom, small detail, but appreciated. This place is a total gem: uplifting, energizing, and welcoming. Come for the free class, stay for the rhythm, the community, and the joy of learning something new. So... what's your excuse?

To celebrate West Linn's centennial this year, the city offered a number of special events. One of…read moremy favorites, as a student of history, were the monthly historical walking tours in different neighborhoods throughout West Linn. This first walk in January started at the McLean House and the series just concluded here as well. It is a beautiful venue that I consider to be West Linn's grand house. Sure there are plenty of modern mansions much more extravagant in scale and decor, but this is a beautifully restored and maintained historic home that is a lovely remembrance of times gone by and my city's roots. The home was given to the city by the McLean family after the construction of the Abernethy bridge drastically altered their river view. It is still a lovely location with a park like setting out back featuring a gazebo built by the local Lions Club. The interior has been restored with an eye to matching the original decor as closely as possible. For example, upstairs in the Groom's Room there is a nautical theme and you will see the wallpaper is very close to the original paper still present in the closet. The Bride's Room is the former master suite and my favorite room in the house is the sitting room with fireplace and red couch just off to the side. A close second is the sun room on the main floor downstairs. The original light fixtures are beautiful and there are enough updates to make this a comfortable entertaining venue. It is frequently the location for weddings, reunions and historic events in our city. The next public event on the calendar is the cookie exchange in December. I applaud the Friends of McLean House for doing such a wonderful job maintaining this historic structure and opening it to the public.

I cannot say anything negative about this place. The McLean House staff was unbelievably helpful…read more They were hired for setup and teardown but helped the entire day! This place is perfect for a wedding. The gazebo us gorgeous and the waterfall is stunning. If I had to do everything over again, I would definitely go here!

The previous one I stayed in So Cal was just OK w/room for improvements needed. This Clackamus location in the Portland suburbs was quite better. Free parking is great! We were warmly welcomed by the front desk. Free was clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel was distant enough for local fireworks sounds to be a non-issue. I enjoyed using the gym in the morning. It's super clean with disinfectant wipes, towels, and water refill station. There were plenty of weights, machines, exercise mat and equipment. It's very convenient to have an onsite restaurant available with Starbucks coffee and tea for purchase. Our basic breakfasts of eggs, bacon, and potatoes hit the spot. My Starbucks decaf white chocolate w/almond milk base was yum. Hubby liked the OJ. Safe, clean, comfy stay, and good front desk. 4 stars.

I am "Titanium Elite" with Marriott and usually when I check in they thank me, give me free bottled water, and offer me points or something of my choice from the market. Often times in addition they will offer me meal vouchers. I got none of that treatment at this location. They also did not upgrade my room despite the hotel not being full. The hotel internet was also slow and TOO SLOW for internet TV to work. I tried watching Netflix and Showtime on demand and they just clocked and would. It work when I tried to watch a show.
