Sycamore Creek Family Ranch

We stayed in the Glamping Covered Wagons with four of our grandchildren during the Fall Roundup…read more The stay certainly exceeded our expectations! The wagons were very well designed and the kids loved it. Sycamore Creek thought of so many great details - s'more makings, firewood for the fire pit, popcorn and even games. The farm animals were a big hit as well. The Gathering Place was great for pickle ball and they had plenty of other games too. Everything was very clean, well kept with attention to details! The staff were all very helpful. The grandkids were already asking when they could come again before we even left, lol. I definitely recommend the Fall Roundup as well. The kids were 3-10 years old and had a real enjoyable time.

Although Sycamore Creek Ranch is a beautiful venue, the experience we had there as part of a…read morewedding party was incredibly disappointing. I was a bridesmaid in this wedding and personally witnessed many of the issues described in the other review. Unfortunately, the venue's response does not accurately reflect what we experienced firsthand. Throughout the event, the staff created an uncomfortable atmosphere that made guests feel as though they were constantly being watched. This went far beyond employees simply doing their jobs, such as taking out trash or restocking supplies. Their presence and behavior felt intimidating and overbearing, as though they were actively looking for reasons to confront guests. I can personally attest that staff went through our bags in the bridal suite where we had been getting ready. We were also told to clear out the room hours before the event was scheduled to end. Expecting bridesmaids to completely move their belongings while a wedding is still taking place is unreasonable. When we moved our things into the bridal suite, we were then yelled at for entering it and told that even the bride and groom were not allowed inside, despite having paid to stay there that evening. The handling of this situation was confusing, unnecessarily stressful, and incredibly disappointing. I also want to clarify the venue's claim that the couple chose to begin cleanup at 9:00 p.m. From my perspective as someone who was there, that is not what happened. The DJ abruptly turned off the music, effectively ending the celebration. By that point, the atmosphere had become so uncomfortable that many guests were already ready to leave. It certainly did not feel like the couple was simply choosing to wrap up their wedding early. It was repeatedly stated that the venue was looking out for the best interest of the bride and groom when in reality nothing was directly communicated to them and left them feeling confused and overwhelmed on their big day. The alcohol situation also seemed completely blown out of proportion. From what I personally observed, only two guests out of approximately 100 were drinking hard liquor. While I understand that venues have policies and responsibilities, the way this situation was handled created unnecessary tension and overshadowed what should have been a special day for the couple. There is a difference between enforcing policies professionally and making an entire wedding party feel as though they are in trouble. Even after the wedding ended, the uncomfortable atmosphere continued. The bridal party had rented the Conestoga wagons, and afterward, we returned to the campsite and sat around the bonfire making s'mores. We were not drinking alcohol or causing problems. Yet staff followed us to the campsite to verify that we were registered guests and appeared to be closely monitoring what we were doing around the fire. It felt as though they were searching for another reason to confront us rather than allowing us to enjoy the accommodations we had rented. I understand that venues have rules, contracts, and responsibilities to uphold. However, those responsibilities should never come at the expense of treating guests with basic courtesy and respect. Rules should be communicated clearly, and concerns should be addressed professionally rather than through yelling, intimidation, or making people feel unwelcome. The property itself is beautiful, and it has the potential to be a wonderful wedding venue. Unfortunately, the staff's behavior and the way situations were handled left a lasting negative impression on the entire experience. A wedding day should be about celebrating the couple, not worrying about being watched, reprimanded, or finding somewhere else to put your belongings. Based on my firsthand experience as a bridesmaid, I would encourage couples to carefully consider not only the appearance of this venue but also how its staff handles guests and unexpected situations on one of the most important days of their lives.
