The shower is very hot and very strong - two of my favorite adjectives for a shower. The wood-burning fireplace/stove is a real treat. The fire pit outside the caboose is a big plus. Be sure to give "The Fillin' Station" (restaurant) a try. We had their catfish special on that Friday night, and it was incredible. We also went to Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge and visited a bunch of rescued wild animals. If you haven't checked out Caboose Junction, it is well worth the drive to Lampe.

Not only is the resort gorgeous, The interiors are decorated so well and kept so clean. There is so much to do right on the resort and you don't even have to leave if you don't want to! They have basketball and sand volleyball courts, a really neat playground, a game room, an amazing cool and so much more! The resort is located right on the lake and you can rent JetSki's straight from the resort. They are so great to everybody who stays there and we have been there several times and they have done guest appreciation nights and provided pizza and other snacks for everybody staying at the resort. This place is so beautiful and has views that are to die for! They even have a water trampoline that sits on the lake that is really fun for kids and adults! They have paddle boards and kayaks you can use as well for free. They really cater to their guests and make sure that it is an excellent time for the whole family!

We really appreciated the coffee and the huge thoughtful gift basket filled with great snacks and fruit. It felt very VIP. The refrigerator was stocked with beverages and bottled water, and they replenished it daily, which was such a nice touch. Added to that was wine glasses, a fireplace and candles. Each room had its own smart TV. There were also plenty of towels and shower amenities, and the huge double shower was especially nice! The bed was very comfortable, and we were extremely grateful for the awesome air conditioning, especially with how hot it was outside. One of our favorite features was the beautiful wraparound porch -- such a nice place to sit and relax in the morning and evening. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into making guests comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Elmwood House to anyone visiting Eureka Springs! We'll be back!!

Disckaimer: my 5 Star rating of the Lodge is simply from my fleeting time spent on my walks here tonight! I only stopped in to ask a question, so I didn't stay here or eat next door, but I really enjoyed my time perusing and I'm simply sharing a bit of video with you of my humble first impressions and enjoying myself seeing my surroundings here and sharing with you! Walking around this building is impressive to me, but upon entering the foyer, with it's lovely " outdoor enthusiast themed" and comfortably apportioned interior with some interesting nostalgic decor and relaxing looking atmosphere, it is evident from all angles (pun intended) pretty much from floor to ceiling! It's local grandeur is only out done by its warmth of character in Allie, the lovely young woman that may greet you at check in! If you do not check this out and you plan on staying somewhere in the Branson Missouri area, it won't be my fault. If you need a place to eat, Tall Tales Bar and Tavern is just steps away in a parking lot that goes all the way around both buildings. It is an absolutely lovely and quaint looking building that absolutely picture your curiosity to peek inside! Wait until you see the windows on the outside surrounded by brick! It's interior feels uncrowded and spacious. It boats a welcoming dining room, a bar that looks to provide actual elbow and breathing room between its patrons, and a gaming room, complete with billiard table and games along the wall that runs its length. We were in cabin 11 for a week. We had a family reunion. Cabin 11 is on a high part of the…read moreproperty, and appeared smaller than the cabins our family had halfway down to the water. The good: Lighted parking for two cars right outside the bedroom windows. Cabin was in great shape. Full sized refrigerator and stove/oven, countertop sized microwave. Beds and linens are very comfortable. Big flat screen smart TV with internet. Good Wifi. Porch with picnic table, umbrella and chairs. Everything was perfectly clean. You do everything online, and they send you the code to your cabin door a day or two before you arrive. When it's time to leave, you just go, no need to go to the office. The so-so: We had a person who doesn't walk real well, and couldn't get down three stone steps to get down to the water. But... There is parking near the docks, so we drove from the cabin to the parking area, and it was fine. The could be better: Cabin 11 is small. The main bedroom has a Queen bed with a nightstand, and the other side was very narrow to squeeze between the bed and wall. The bed was large enough that the door couldn't swing past it to close. Not a deal breaker for us, but consider it if you need privacy. The bed looked like if you slid it all the way to the opposite wall the door might close, but I didn't try it. If you do that though, one of you will have to get on the bed at the foot end and crawl up. Not good for old folks with mobility issues. The shower is very small, like a phone booth. Think of a cruise ship shower, only square. Not optimum, but certainly functional. I liked the place, and won't hesitate to stay there again. Although I would likely not pick #11 again. I just wanted my review to be thorough.

Check in was all online so there was no stopping in at the office kinda thing. Looks like it used to be part of the KOA network so it's nice. Very quiet and well maintained - easy reservation online. Kinda tricky to get through town & BE SURE TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL! There is a VERY low railroad bridge on a certain road that GPS will try to route you through. A narrow road & only 10' clearance....it would have been a nightmare! The info from the campground is very thorough and gives specific instructions for coming in from any direction. Just don't skip over it!
