Once again, Venture Out Manager's Corner (1-10-20) is putting our false information regarding internet service in the park.
There is no wired high-speed internet service inside Venture Out.
In the recent newsletter she stated: You now have three sources for internet this year. DISH, Century Link, and Verizon.
First off, DSL via Century Link is extremely slow, about x2- x3 dialup (early 2000s technology). Verizon offers 4G service via hotspot which is probably the MOST EXPENSIVE service in the USA. And I just got off the phone with a DISH employee in Madison, Wisc., they DO NOT provide internet service in Venture Out, they simply re-sell Century Link service... in otherwords: DISH does NOT provide internet service.
Another 4G provider which offers service around Mesa is T-Mobile which is less expensive than Verizon. I would guess that Sprint also offers the 4g data service.
The big problem with Century Link is they will sell you, and charge you for a particular speed of service, but they will NEVER provide it. There is only one (or two) internet pages that will come through to you on Century Link DSL at the advertised speed, those are the speed test web pages (like speedtest.org) only. No other web service from anywhere on the planet will run at the speed they will bill you for. In my opinion that constitutes deliberate deception.
The Pres needs to ammend her information and remove DISH from the list of available providers because they are NOT an internet provider.
Last time I spoke with Verizon they had a 4G internet service via hotspot that was limited to 4gb a month which is enough data to watch TV online for about 1-2 days a month, then you're out of data. Would you pay $70 a month for a cable-tv service that only worked 2 days a month? That's the deal from Verizon.
Maybe we could get someone who doesn't lie to get us working high speed, non-capped service inside Venture Out so we can join the modern world instead of being stuck in 1999. read more
