I'm a property manager, I use repairman and contractors all the time and this is the most inflated bill I have encountered. For 2 wooden door shims installed, and the tiling I asked for wasn't possible to do, I paid nearly $900!!!! $135 per hour and 5 hours time, when Geoff the handyman was in and out under an hour, was driving 1 hour each way which means I was charged 2 hours for a Home Depot run. I contacted Jonathan to complain about the time he had charged but he was rude and kept texting me to the point I refused to answer him anymore as he was starting to harass me. His reply to me below is the tone to expect. I am Yelp Elite. I don't write a bad review just to annoy a local business. I write truthful reviews, I wouldn't be Elite if I didn't. I would definitely not recommend using this company, they have to be the most expensive on island! Testified by some of the later reviews below.

Our partial remodel turned into a total home remodel including leveling floors and vaulting the ceilings.  Michael was flexible and open throughout the process and willing to incorporate all of our changes as the remodel progressed.  We are very thankful for his attention to detail, his practical suggestions to design and providing top notch quality work.  Michael has a great team.  We were very happy with his choice of electrician (Eric), plumber (Chris) and painter (Edgar), who were all very flexible, professional, and reliable.  All subcontractors were highly experienced and we felt confident their work would pass all inspections and exceeded our standards.  We are also very happy with his team who worked at the house every day.  They not only did an amazing job but were also very respectful to us as the homeowners.  The care they showed was as if they were working on their own home.  We were equally confident and impressed with all of Jake's skills including tile work, framing, deck work and all of the finishing touches inside the house. They were much more reasonably-priced than other contractors--who we couldn't afford at all--so we were wary about the old saying, "You get what you pay for" when we first hired them. Much to our relief, contractor/owner Mike and his crew delivered. They've always been very professional and efficient and they cleaned up after they were done. Mike's friendly and laid-back demeanor belies the fact that he is very organized and is juggling a million details all at once, stretched over multiple different job sites. He got the job done when he said it would be done, in the manner he said it would be. MF Construction is now our go-to contractor on Maui if/when the need arises. We would definitely hire them again.

He did not notify anyone (who needed to know) that he had scheduled a concrete pour, then he was upset that people didn't show up. Other times he scheduled work but did not show up & he gave no notice. His machinery is in bad repair & some of it is dangerous. He tells prospective customers he will do the job fast & save them money. I found the reality to be the opposite. He slowed my job down considerably.

Ron was incredibly responsive, communicative, and kept us in the loop every step of the way. We gutted and remodeled the kitchen and bathroom, installed new flooring, re-wired the electrical, removed the outdated ceiling, installed a new split-system AC and painted the whole condo.
