Our partial remodel turned into a total home remodel including leveling floors and vaulting the ceilings.  Michael was flexible and open throughout the process and willing to incorporate all of our changes as the remodel progressed.  We are very thankful for his attention to detail, his practical suggestions to design and providing top notch quality work.  Michael has a great team.  We were very happy with his choice of electrician (Eric), plumber (Chris) and painter (Edgar), who were all very flexible, professional, and reliable.  All subcontractors were highly experienced and we felt confident their work would pass all inspections and exceeded our standards.  We are also very happy with his team who worked at the house every day.  They not only did an amazing job but were also very respectful to us as the homeowners.  The care they showed was as if they were working on their own home.  We were equally confident and impressed with all of Jake's skills including tile work, framing, deck work and all of the finishing touches inside the house. Remodeling can be both a stressful and an expensive experience.  Michael helped lessen any stress by being available by phone, text or email and responding the same day or by the next day.  His knowledge of product and project costs guided us in all of our design decisions also reducing the stress of the cost of the remodel.  We have since moved into our "Dream Home" and are completely in love with every detail of our "New Home."  Hand's down.  We highly recommend Michael and his team at MF Construction Inc. for your remodel needs.

They were much more reasonably-priced than other contractors--who we couldn't afford at all--so we were wary about the old saying, "You get what you pay for" when we first hired them. Much to our relief, contractor/owner Mike and his crew delivered. They've always been very professional and efficient and they cleaned up after they were done. Mike's friendly and laid-back demeanor belies the fact that he is very organized and is juggling a million details all at once, stretched over multiple different job sites. He got the job done when he said it would be done, in the manner he said it would be. MF Construction is now our go-to contractor on Maui if/when the need arises. We would definitely hire them again.

Feels like scam! I paid $300k!…read more I'm very angry and disappointed! I chose Island Independence because of the positive reviews I found online. Unfortunately, the reality was much worse than expected. Gabe (the owner), and Mario (the manager) sound very professional and reliable, that's why I paid them $300k already for work + hidden fees for material purchases. They had to finish the work by April 2022. Look at the pictures below. That's what I get for my money 3 months after the deadline! I don't post any undone work related to delayed materials. I just show you the quality of their work in the areas where they had all the necessary materials and time to accomplished the work in time. Despite that, they take new contracts and just postpone their work at my house over and over again. For most of the questions like "When are you planning to fix this or that?" they just ignore me! Don't believe what they say. Don't trust the positive reviews. This company could be nice 4 years ago, but now they just focus on getting as many advance payments as possible and delaying their job. Moreover, we have evidence of their workers stealing and damaging our belongings. I will be happy to change this review when I get what I paid for, compensated for the trouble and when all this madness is over. Let's see how long it takes.

I've paid more than $46,000 to Alge Group and this is what I get…read more We needed to remodel our home. We have found this company on Yelp and trusted the positive reviews they had. We also fell in love with the pictures they 3D-modeled and put on their webpage. When we met the owner Jorge Gebrael, he sounded like a nice person, who was always open to answer any questions. Didn't work that well after we paid all the money though. It seems like he disappeared, at least exclusively to me, our contractor and our assistant. Jorge delegated this project to Amanda Sellers, a stylish designer who has skills of finding interesting materials that match with each other. She was either fired from the company, or left on her own right after we paid all the money. Now neither Jorge, nor Amanda wants to answer even such simple questions as "which paint did you plan to use here on this column?" What you can expect from Alge group: 1) EXPECTATION vs REALITY For instance, see the outdoor shower attached: expectation vs reality. The contractor claims ALGE's representative approved this version when they decided to cut some costs on our project. Nobody asked me if I agree with such a change though. I would never agree with making the new outdoor shower interior walls the same as the old exterior walls of the house. Just look at these ugly looking vertical wooden panels. Why not just make them plain white without wooden panels and cover with a waterproof paint? At least you could ask the client! 2) WASTE OF CLIENT'S MONEY * Another thing is our master bathroom. Amanda planned there huge LED mirrors, which eventually didn't match the elevation of the house and now these $5000 worth mirrors are just a junk in contractor's storage, because there's no place to put them, and it's too late to return them. * Both Jorge and Amanda told me they are to make it budget friendly and a lot of stuff can be bought cheap. For instance, when I asked Amanda how much can potentially cost all the finish materials that they plan purchasing, she said on the phone it can cost about $50,000. It's affordable. In reality: more than $250,000. * Another example of not budget-friendliness: we had brand new cabinets in the house installed by the previous owner, as well as a dishwasher, microwave, exhaust and range. They were only 1 year old. Instead of actively proposing to reuse them, Amanda proposed completely different design and said it's ok to donate all these belongings. When we figured out the new cabinets would cost us $90,000 to make while we have the new ones in storage, I insisted on reusing them and luckily the contractor hasn't managed to "donate" them to anyone yet. These cabinets look just perfect in our kitchen and we saved huge money because we didn't listen to ALGE Group. 3) IRRESPONSIBLE. IGNORANT For instance, ALGE group picked up and ordered night stands for us. One of them came with a missing part. The contractor informed them about it. They could replace it for free using wayfair's 30 day free return policy. Instead, they didn't do a thing. Jorge just doesn't reply to our emails or phone calls. Any questions about project? Forget it. You pay them huge for a few pictures. You are buying digital illustrations only. Don't expect them to measure if it fits in your house. Just look at these curtains attached. They are 8in shorter than these sliding doors. 4) SAFETY RISKS Remember the story about the $5000 mirrors that don't fit in our new layout? Well, according to the contractor, ALGE group asked them to make all our huge ceilings in the master bathroom so short that I hit a lamp with my head every time I get out of the bath! And they never asked me if I want this? I would insist on keeping the high ceilings! I told them Many times I'm 6'1 tall! Many times. Literally every time we planned anything. Moreover, the lamp that I hit with my head is designed for the damp environment, not wet environment, which is a safety risk according to inspection. 5) ZERO STARS I would rate material selection abilities of Alge group 4/5. Budget friendliness - 0/5. Communication - 0/5. Responsibility - 0/5. Measuring - 0/5. Planning - 0/5. This is very annoying. I'm very disappointed in Alge Group!

It was a very stressful event, he took care of all the mold remediation, replacing all the effected drywall and is now replacing all the flooring. He does it in the time he says it will be done, does an exceptional job, will 'jump through the hoops' that the insurance companies need him to and takes pictures along the process to show me the work that has been done as well as giving me options with flooring, pricing and his recommendations. He's a polite hard working guy with a great crew and can do pretty much all necessary renovations.
