We stumbled across this location while looking for a 30th birthday card for my nephew, with a little time to kill between picking up my daughter from camp and our 4:45 PM movie down the street. It's really my daughter's kind of store; she just loves it. They have an outstanding selection of hand-printed paper for wrapping, decorating, or crafting, and their assortment of stationery, cards, art supplies, and fun small gifts is first-class. Everything is fun, fresh, and reasonably priced--so much better than grabbing a card at CVS. They even have a great, small discount section. When checking out, they asked if we had a Barnes & Noble membership, so it looks like they're owned by the same corporation. Customer service here is great! The staff warmly welcomes you right when you walk in, and everyone was super friendly and helpful in finding exactly what we needed. The store is clean, bright, well-maintained, and fully stocked. The inventory layout is wonderful, with different sections set up depending on what you're looking for. Definitely take your time to browse everything.

The staff were all friendly. The assortment of inventory is wonderful. Take your time to look at everything. They have many different venues set up depending on what you are looking for. They have a great discount area as well. The assortment of startionary, cards, and art supplies is first class. When we checked out they asked if we had a Barnes and Noble membership so they are somehow associated to B & N. When you have time and want to peruse and shop at a lovely stationary store make a point to head over to The Point in El Segundo. While you are there make sure you go at a meal time as there are many yummy eateries to choose from while you are there!

And the one that stood out---head-and-shoulders above the rest---was Diane from Promises West. From our first meeting to the final delivery of our paper goods, Diane offered a stress-free, creative, and professional experience. Her inventory of invitations is vast, and she can expertly hone in on the designs that match your vision. Our wedding invitations perfectly set the tone and provided guests a first glimpse at what they could expect. Diane's invitations created anticipation and garnered endless compliments. Beyond her creative expertise, Diane never says no to any idea, is respectful of budgets, delivers items on-time, and makes sure you stay on schedule. Honestly, if every professional in the wedding industry was like Diane, it would be a vastly differently experience---perhaps even enjoyable! :) I cannot say enough great things about her---I'm am eternally grateful.

The result was a wedding invitation and overall presentation that multiple wedding guests have called the most beautiful invitation they had ever seen! Thank you Diane for your help, and thank you for being part of our wedding story!

ARTime BARRO is part pottery studio, part community space, and is a relaxing, chill place where you can unleash the creativity you thought was dead, where your artistic spirit gets to come out to play, if only for just a little bit of time in this crazy world. On a recent weekend, I had the opportunity to take the One-Time Class, which is a one-hour course designed for complete beginners. You get to make two pieces, one by hand at the table and one on the pottery wheel. The class size was small (just 5 people) and we got great 1:1 instruction and guidance from our knowledgeable instructor Max. I've always wanted to try the wheel and was surprised how hard it was to use it but it was such a great experience that I think everyone should try at least once. After you sculpt your pieces, you are invited to come back to hand paint (glaze) your work at no additional cost. You can also have them do a one-color glaze for you, but after I saw all the multi-colored pieces of other folks previous to me, it was no contest to decide that I wanted to color my pieces myself. You have up to 3 months to come back to glaze so it's very doable in anyone's busy LA (corporate) lifestyle. Pricing was very reasonable for such a cool bespoke experience. There are a lot of pottery painting studios (e.g. Color Me Mine) but this is awesome bc you get to make the pottery AND color it later! I've already recommended this place to countless people!
