Come here if you want to wait over an hour for some very average food. Cause we did on multiple occasions. Won't be returning!

We are staying at Basecamp Terlingua and Venga has been our go to spot for breakfast. Everything we have tried (avocado toast, egg plate, chocolate muffin, smoothies) has been excellent. Stopped in to take a chance after reading the other reviews, and I have to say I am disappointed...in the other reviewers. The cheeseburger was great, and the cheddar actually left an impression. I also had my fries 'Disco' style and the cheese curds and gravy went perfectly with the seasoned fries. Our food came out quickly and was cooked exactly as I expected. I can not speak to how well they handle crowds but I have absolutely nothing to complain about in my visit. This place is gorgeous, but they're sure failing hard on the basics of being a restaurant! We walk in, and there's no greeting or any indication of what to do. There are some empty tables with a bunch of dirty dishes on them and I eventually spy a QR code menu indicating to order and pay online through it. We sit down at the edge of a dirty table and do so. Forty minutes later, the kiddo has reached the end of his rope and honestly so have I so I go check on it. Apparently there are still four more tickets in front of us, so we're looking at an hour wait on food AFTER ordering. It's mid-afternoon on a Sunday and the place is half empty, so I have no explanation for this. The staff is friendly though, so there's that! Sure wish we'd gone somewhere else though, because this feels like purgatory. read more

Absolutely loved this place! We stopped in each morning before heading out to hike. Coffee was hot and tasty. I loved the breakfast burrito, and my husband loved the salmon toast. We also tried the paninis and banana pudding. Yum! We will definitely be back again! read more

Cute vibe, inviting seating with sofas and arm chairs, but they are 1000% asleep in the kitchen. At 11:15 on a Saturday we ordered just a couple of breakfast sandwiches. At 12:21 our order was ready, and it was not even crowded. I get that it's a laid back vibe, but don't come here hungry! read more

Cool building, decent food, good prices but the zombie staff acted like they could care less for your business and couldn't b bothered to even take your order. The place looks like a turd in a punchbowl in Terlingua. Very extravagant building compared to the cool bohemian theme in the rest of town. At least a couple million went into construction. The food is good. Considering they want a tip at payment, they should bring your food to you. I won't tip next time.

Delicious food and great coffee. Does not handle crowds well - food orders seem to get out of line. People who came in and ordered 20 minutes after we did got their food before we did (we ordered two burritos). We waited for over an hour for two burritos. When we finally got the burritos they were wrong. Don't bother if there are a lot of people inside (more than five people). If there isn't a crowd definitely worth trying. read more

Fabulous spot in Terlingua! We have been visiting Big Bend for years and this is exactly what Terlingua needed. Delicious food (we had the breakfast burrito, pancakes, avocado toast and mimosas) and great atmosphere. This is definitely our spot for every trip to Big Bend area. read more

The esthetics are very cool! The coffee and tea were so good! This place is the proverbial oasis in the desert! The hamburger was a little dry but the fries made up for it! They have some delicious banana pudding and cherries jubilee! It's a great place to stop and enjoy good food, exceptional coffee and a cool little joint! read more
