I tried to wait a bit for the new management to settle in and make this review any better..... but..... Absolutely shocked by the lack of value and basic care at The Veneto on Las Olas.
I have always prided myself on being reasonable when it comes to "value for money" in rentals -Unfortunately, living at The Veneto has completely shattered that standard.
Despite paying more here for a small 1 bed/1 bath than I did for a spacious/lofted 2 bed/2.5 bath in the heart of Brickell, I have been met with constant disappointment, frustration, and genuine concern for my safety.
Security? Practically nonexistent.
It is terrifying that I have to write this publicly, but it's crucial for future residents to know: there is a total lack of cameras, no secure gates, no mirrors around garage corners, and no meaningful access control .... Anyone can enter both the garage and the building freely -- an issue residents have flagged repeatedly to not one, but two management companies, who have done absolutely nothing. I genuinely feel unsafe every time I walk to my car at any time of day.
Cleanliness? An afterthought at best.
The day I moved in, I was greeted by silverfish. They're still here, despite multiple treatments. I've found them on my arm after a nap, on my counters, and on my walls -- nothing says "luxury" like sharing your apartment with bugs.
The amenities that drew me in -- like the cold plunge -- look great in photos and on the tour, but I've never dared to use them. Why? A consistent green film and floating debris make it feel like you'd come out with more than just a refreshing chill.
The garage is another nightmare. After two months with the new management, they still haven't managed to install trash cans on the garage levels. Instead, trash piles up everywhere -- shocking, given the "luxury" price point residents are paying.
Other bits that just suck are the fact that there is no assigned parking spots (something they left out before I signed....). You never remember where you park and with the dangers that exist in the garage itself .... It's just anxiety inducing.... Additionally, guests are currently allowed to park for free which is amazing* and what I was promised.... However - they have been fumbling to install a gate that will likely allow for less than 10 or fewer guest parking spots for the entire building........ ahhh and while I've lived here for only three months.....those that are up for renewal .... There is a 10****% increase to rent..... again.... This is one of the most expensive buildings on las Olas - 4-5k for a 1b-1b.... And a 10% increase on that with all the aforementioned and known issues is honestly insulting....
Now, for the very few bright spots:
* My kitchen and appliances are truly wonderful -- credit where it's due.
* Most residents are fantastic (though it seems the daily struggles have bonded us more than any official building events ever could).
* The location is undeniably prime.
could).
* The sign on bonus (1 month free and a 1k grift card) was absolutely solid [despite having to battle them to get that even after they promised both]
* And finally, the shining star of this building: the blonde Russian woman at the front desk. She goes above and beyond every day and deserves a raise and a promotion.
In short, this building has forced me to completely redefine what "value for money" means -- and not in a good way. If you're considering The Veneto, do yourself a favor: look elsewhere.
I hope that I get the opportunity to modify or delete and rewrite this review but that will require action from the management company. read more
