Theres some good and some bad to living here. It just so happens that the bad outweighed the good in our scenario.
Since the first day we moved in, we could hear our upstairs neighbors stomping around at all hours in the night. This is because the walls and ceilings are paper thin so be prepared to hear what your neighbors are up to. We called and complained a few times but it just never got resolved so we gave up.
A few months later on a Sunday night, we heard loud drilling noises coming from our air vents. The drilling was so loud it kept us up and we just thought "oh jeez, what is it this time". The drilling was so thunderous, and scratching in nature, that we called the off site center because we thought a wild animal was crawling through our air vents. Come to find out, the upstairs neighbors were having plumbing issues and that the issue would be resolved shortly. There was nothing short about it.
Then, as if to keep tradition, the very next Sunday night followed the same tune. Turns out that same upstairs neighbor was having plumbing issues again with their toilet. Maintenance was drilling again, keeping us up for hours, only this time the sounds were 10x louder. On a Sunday night. Again. Great.
But hold on, theres more! Around 2 weeks later, the same upstairs neighbor was having plumbing issues AGAIN, only this time, it was the washer not the toilet and it started leaking into our apartment! The water came from the ceiling and into our apartment through the washer/dryer ceiling and started to creep under the door into our bedroom. Water stains also were visible in the ceiling corner. Possible mold can be developed there so I wouldn't want to move into that apartment if I were you.
At this point, my wife and I said enough is enough and we decided to call the leasing office about it. I had a Karen moment and politely asked to speak to the manager. Her name is Alexa. I explained to Alexa everything that has gone on over the past year and said that it would be nice to be afforded some kind of compensation for all that we have had to deal with living at Amli Park West. Alexa didn't seem to care at all since she noted that we were moving out anyways. "Well, it seems you guys are already on notice for moving out in a couple months, so theres nothing we will be able to do for you" she said facetiously. Alexa also continuously mischaracterized my aggravation in repeatedly telling me how the plumbing was "not our fault" after I had continuously made it abundantly clear that we were upset about the mental hoops we had to jump through just living at her apartment complex; NOT the plumbing. Her sarcastic tone and over-talking made it crystal clear to me that Alexa was only concerned with the money that her complex was making, and not the happiness of her residents. This was very disappointing as I did not want to write this review, but I tried to communicate to her how I was feeling and it was not well received.
If you want to overpay for a small apartment and deal with issues all the time, then maybe Amli is for you. Personally, I wish we never moved here.
Now in the interest of keeping things fair, there is quite a good amount of "good" that comes with living at Amli. They have food trucks every now and then and holiday gifts that you can pick up at the front office. Whitney, is one of the front office workers and she has been delightful and very helpful if theres ever an issue. Annabel was also very pleasant and helpful at the front office. There is also an offsite call center that you can reach any time for issues pertaining to your apartment outside of normal business hours. They're great and very responsive. Trust me, I had a lot of experience with them.
I think this apartment complex has a lot of potential but right now, the leadership seems to be lacking. Amli will do very well when it decides to care about the happiness of its residents. I hope that day comes soon. read more
