    This is my second time visiting a friend who lives in the building. For being located in downtown Fort Lauderdale its a calm quiet area when you pull up to the front of the building. You're then greeted by valet where you provide your cell phone number and notify them when to get your car ready upon your departure (as opposed to waiting when you get down to the actual valet booth) The lobby is spacious, with security on staff. She reserved the facility on the rooftop for our party. The facility has a large common area, pool table, kitchen (sink, fridge, oven, microwave and wine fridge - no stove) and a long large table that can easily seat 10-12 people. The rooftop also has the communal pool, multiple patio areas, and bbq area with high top tables. There is plenty of seating and can accommodate different residences at the same time. My favorite part is the outdoor cinema located on the rooftop. You can ask the front desk to use the projector system and you can project it on a blank wall and sit back and relax.

    I went to a company premier party on the rooftop. The facility was extremely clean. Everything was well organized and the staff was amazing.

I brought my elderly, disabled mother--who uses a walker and has dementia-- last week to tour an apartment to assess its accessibility. Despite providing my driver's license as her caregiver, the leasing agent demanded my mother's ID. I explained she doesn't have one due to her obvious disabilities, but the manager refused to let us view the property. The manager initially claimed it was a legal requirement. When I challenged this false statement and pointed out that it was discriminatory against disabled elderly persons, she abruptly changed her story and said it was now "company policy" not to allow anyone over 18 without an ID. I countered by explaining that I had toured at least 9 competing properties in the area, all of which accepted just my driver's license without issue. None of them demanded an ID from my mother, given her very visible disability and the fact that she could barely stand, even with a walker. Yet The Metropolitan refused to make any accommodation. This company's behavior was uniquely cruel and highlights their blatant discrimination against disabled elderly persons. Their lack of compassion or willingness to accommodate someone with obvious physical limitations is disgraceful. If you or a loved one have special needs, avoid this place at all costs--they clearly have no interest in treating people with dignity or respect.

They charge Miami pricing yet don't give you Miami service or amenities. The herb garden they talk about is three grates on top of wood chips- it's not a garden. Our apartment is completely rundown while paying a premium of this alleged "luxury experience". They like to focus on the pool a lot which is a nice pool however it's always busy so if you want quiet time, you can forget it. There are a lot of shady characters roaming around quite often as well as people tailgating in the parking lot and breaking down the entrance and exit gates at least three times a month. There is no assigned parking, it's just a free for all. If you want a private one car garage you can rent one @ $250 a month which again is almost double what most buildings in south beach are charging. The building just really isn't worth the price or the hype via the website.

    While I must say, I did LOVE touring this building, I don't like bait & switch operations…read more I went to tour this place recently (1/2/24) in the evening, and after the tour, asked about their online advertisement stating they were offering 1 month free on select units. The agent almost scoffed at me stating "oh no, we don't do that" and I stated that I did see it online to which she responded "well let me see that" almost in disbelief. When I showed the agent what THEY were advertising on their DIRECT website (mind you not Zillow, Apartments.com, etc) she didn't even entertain the idea of honoring it. This just left a sour taste in my mouth for the building, because what kind of company doesn't honor their direct advertising?? Photo attached for reference. Honor what you advertise, it's very simple. In response to The Registry Las Olas's response to this review: please note that the leasing agent surely did not "demonstrate" that this special was "no longer visible". What actually happened was that I "demonstrated" a current Google search showing that the special was in fact still showing on the website (mind you, on my new iPhone 15, purchased 1 week prior to this visit). Upon doing that, the leasing agent took a picture of my phone, from her phone, saying "that shouldn't be there, and I need to get management to take that down". Please note that my boyfriend was also in office for reference on this matter. Suggesting to "clear my browser cache" is a very lame response/excuse, given to push off the fact that they are advertising incorrectly. Please see newly attached screenshot as to the last time that this "special" was visible on their website- 1/8/24 at 4:44pm (when screenshot was taken, as I was in office with this agent). Additionally note that this was able to be pulled up on a different browser (on my boyfriend's iPhone) as well. While I appreciate a response, please don't accuse me of misinforming on this situation. Originally this was a 2 star review, now taken down to a 1 due to the inaccurate & dismissive response in regards to this matter.
