Moving down from Philadelphia and was looking at properties in the Flagler Village area - I toured Pearl Apartments with Laurie- who by the way is an amazing person, great personality, very fun and energetic, made the tour entertaining. She also knows how to point out the finer details in the rooms which makes you really appreciate how much thought has been placed into the design. For example, the bathrooms here are spa-like, with both a tub and shower behind a glass door, you have to see it (we started calling them "shubs"). There are also double vanities in some of the 1 bdrms. There was not a single question she couldn't answer. She also was a wealth of knowledge about the area, knew where all the new construction was going to occur and had some knowledge about future retail and restaurant space. She listened to what we wanted from a unit and was honest about which units would work and which ones we probably would not end up liking. Having a tour guide like that makes such a difference. Speaking of which, Pearl Apartments by far has the most high end, tasteful fixtures and furniture I've seen in the common spaces. The gym is flooded with sunlight from all the windows and there are two Pelaton bikes and all the equipment you could want. The pool area feels like an oasis. There is this huge hanging sculpture in the lounge area and the way things light up as you enter is truly amazing. We also toured some other apartments in the area - Whitney, Solomar, Edge - none of them compare to this. Now- I should state that in the end we decided to settle in Hollywood (we decided we really wanted more of the beach vibe). My biggest disappointment was there was nothing like Pearl there - if we had decided to stay in FLL, I definitely would have chosen Pearl.

Cons: very bad pest problem; packages - get stolen all the time (if you decide to move here, get your packages delivered to Whole Foods); gym - a rate was found in the gym, gym door was consistenly left unlock and this is the door that connects to the main street; mold in ace unit and when the non-english speaking maintenance rep came to fix, he had to use translate to converse with me; doors into the buildings are consistently unloocked allowing homeless people access (homeless guy was caught sleeping in the building, another resident had a stranger open her door); check the convenience store across the street as guys clearly sell drugs here; parking is violent here - they have a tow company that is very flagrant; bad billing - all of us experienced nearly a doubling of water bill in June, the property outsourced many services upon which they added fees to monthly bill without our consent; my roughly $2,600/month unit would total to about $3,000 each month because of their additional fees and bad billing. All of this and more happened within our first 4 months of living here and needless to say that me and my wife decided to pay our lease break fee to move out early.

Because of that professional relationship--and the credibility of the Compass brand--I trusted this individual beyond the initial transaction. That trust turned out to be a serious mistake. After the condo purchase, the agent engaged in conduct outside of the real estate transaction that resulted in a financial loss for me. While the activity itself was not part of my condo closing, my trust in him was based entirely on his role as a Compass agent and the legitimacy that the brand conveys. When I reported this to Compass, their response was extremely disappointing. I was told the agent was terminated, but there was no apology, no concern for the damage done, and no effort to address the situation. The response felt dismissive and indifferent. I will not name the agent here, but this experience raises real concerns about how this office vets, supervises, and takes responsibility for its agents. The property itself is in excellent condition and we really enjoyed the 2 br room we stayed in. The hallways are long, clean, and very well kept up. They have the convenience of a trash chute on every floor and also are pet friendly. The amenities inside the apartment and community are top notch. The vinyl plank wood flooring was beautiful and matched very well with the quartz countertops throughout the apartment. Great finishing touches on all the cabinetry and plumbing as well. The shower was a on point! The pool was gorgeous and inviting. Very spacious with lots of rooms for family or just friends hanging out. They even have a really cool waterfall feature that was fun to swim under and around. If I were moving to this area, I think this apartment would be on the top of my list. Coming from Charlotte it was nice to see such a warm and inviting community. It felt like home!

This is a very special building because it's in the heart of Fort Lauderdale and all that's great about it. It is within walking distance of an excellent GreenWise Publix, directly across the street and the library is a block away, and all the best restaurants. And it's only eight stories so it really feels more like a boutique building and when you're in the apartment you feel like you're really in a cozy space. Just like home.! But the best part of Coasterra is the leasing agents , particularly Natacha. She is so knowledgeable and competent., while elegant and fun. She goes way beyond the extra mile! She is just a complete pleasure to work with! I actually told her the best part of living here is her. My advice: Run, don't walk. This is the place to be in Fort Lauderdale!
