I got a regular cup, which came with 2 scoops. - Mango Gelato, (4/5): super creamy, with a texture similar to a ripe mango. not artificial tasting at all - Strawberry Gelato, (5/5): my favorite. had little strawberry seed bits which I liked The 2 flavors were nice together since I was craving fruitier flavors. Adding the tiny piece of free dark chocolate was the cherry on top - a dessert on top of my dessert! thnx for reading :^) read more

This was truly the best gelato I've ever had! You pay before you get to sample flavors. There are a variety of options, cones, and dips. There is also a lot of different chocolate to choose from. The line was very long at night but it was worth the wait. It's a very cute store with an upscale vibe- definitely a must on your New York trip! read more

Oh, so yummy gelato! The waffle cones were so fresh that they were warm. Chocolate-lined warm cones, scrumptious gelato. The Baby cone came with one giant scoop of gelato, more than enough for one person. The regular cone came with two giants scoops. We were lucky that this place was across the street from our hotel. We went back a second night. read more

Venchi has been my go-to gelato spot in Hong Kong, so I was really happy to see it here in NYC -- especially on a hot day! I ordered the Cremino and Stracciatella flavors, and both were rich, creamy, and perfectly satisfying. The chocolate-coated cone also made it feel extra special. Such a cute stop for a quick dessert break in the city! read more

I happily came across a new Venchi and was delighted. Located on the heavy traversed 7th Avenue, and at a corner location, the shop.... like every other Venchi.... is well lit, immaculate, has a cordial/helpful staff, and carries an array of delicious sweets. I think this business will do well, here. During today's visit, I ordered a box of Chocoviar Raspberry (dark chocolate inner shell, intense raspberry coulis, chocolate 75% grains). Each square is a delightful treat. The mixture of textures, and the chocolate grains that spill out after every bite, is exquisite (make sure you eat them over a napkin, in order to catch every grain). Please, try them, because you will be impressed and return for more. read more

Nice interior but very mediocre gelato. Came here since i was drawn by the shiny and gaudy interior, but was immediately dissapointed by how hard the gelato, the lack of flavor the confusing pricing and how high the price is for a product of fairly low quality. The staff seemed annoyed that I was so confused and asked so many questions, which further turned me off from this place. Skip this place almost any other gelato place is better read more

Delicious! Even on a cold day, there is always room for gelato, hot chocolate, coffee, etc. Even though I came in for gelato, I couldn't leave without chocolate. Venchi was established in the late 1800s in Italy. Lots of dark chocolate options which is my jam. I couldn't decide on what chocolate to buy. I purchased by the lb which was pretty expensive depending on the chocolate, price per lb is different. If you combine everything, you will be charged the highest price. For gelato, I got the Dubai chocolate and the hazelnut. You can taste the quality! A little expensive but worth it! read more

A perfect sweet treat to end the night--and the best part? They're open late! The ordering process is simple: you check out with a team member while in line, then hand your receipt to the staff behind the counter and let them know your preferred flavor. Super easy, and I love how streamlined it feels. The atmosphere: This location is much more spacious than their other spots, giving you room to enjoy your dessert or browse their selection of chocolates and candies to take home. The gelato: I went with the stracciatella gelato and it was absolutely delicious. They also offer unique flavors, like olive oil, which you can sample if you're feeling adventurous or having trouble deciding. The service: The staff is friendly, and the whole process runs smoothly. Even with a line, everything moved quickly and efficiently. read more

Venchi's has some of the best ice cream. The wait is often pretty long but the ice cream makes up for that. Now the employees could use a personality or two. I will leave it at that! Actually, on second thought the trainee that helped, if that is what you want to call it, needs a lot more training and dial back her attitude. You kind of expect the NY directness but she was something else! read more

Definitely fixes any cravings for some good gelato! Upon entering, you are asked to pay for what you want first (size, cone/cup, or spread). Once you pay, you move to the next line where you get to select your flavors or if you want to sample any. I ended up getting 2 flavors in a waffle cone with dark hazelnut spread, Gourmet. The pistachio and hazelnut gelato flavors were sooo good! My friend ended up ordering the exact same thing and we had told each other nothing beforehand. We both loved our gelatos. The staff is nice but a little uncoordinated about the process. The inside looks real fancy and looks nice and inviting. However, organization needs some work! read more

Love their chocolates and icecream! Most of their flavors are a hit-but Pistachio and Stracciatella are the best. They let you try their flavors too and servings are really generous. Also you can get two flavors mixed in single scoops. They also offer range of cones that they freshly dip in chocolate and nuts in front of you. Must try! read more

Venchi is a very popular gelato and chocolate specialty store. This location near Times Square is a great spot for sweets. I came here in single digit weather, and wow did the hot chocolate hit. The hot chocolate was super rich, to the point where it felt like drinking straight liquid chocolate. The inside is super fun, with half the store dedicated to gelato and half to chocolate. The decorations were unique and fun! The service was really friendly! They helped us go through the flavors as well as buying various chocolates. Overall, Venchi is a great spot for amazing desserts! read more

Venchi is so delicious I have to visit every location. The first time I ate Venchi was when I found the location near 14th Street Union Square by accident. I had no idea they would open a location on Lexington Avenue near my apartment. They keep expanding to more neighborhoods. Venchi is creamy and has a smooth taste that to me is unique. It is a rich flavor so a scoop will satisfy my desire. They have a huge selection of chocolate candy and sweets as well. I'm just here for what I call the Gucci of Gelatos! I like the Espresso flavor. Try it...... read more

Venchi is a very cute little chocolate shop right in the Times Square area and honestly it pulls you in immediately. Bright, pretty, and full of chocolate everywhere you look. Dangerous. I ordered the hot chocolate with raspberry and let me be clear this is not Swiss Miss energy. This is real, melted, drinking chocolate. Extremely rich, thick, and very chocolate forward with a nice hint of raspberry. It's delicious but intense, so plan accordingly. Pro tip drink it fast. Once it cools down it starts to thicken up and turns into basically warm chocolate pudding in a cup. Not a bad thing, just something to be prepared for. Really good if you're in the mood for something indulgent and decadent. Just don't expect a light sip and stroll situation. read more

Great experience at the Venchi on 7th Ave! Came here with my family after dinner as it was right across the street from the hotel my brother was staying at. He had never been to a gelato and I suggested it! (I've been to one other location) The second you walk, the place feels lavish. The storefront is pristine and gorgeously furnished. The chocolatiers/gelatieres are so warm and one walked up to us while we in line and explained the size options and options for what they will coat our cups and cones with - I think the options were dark chocolate or hazelnut. You also are able to sample any flavors before choosing! Being that I just ate, I got myself a small treat, a "baby" cup of pistachio gelato. They had the Dubai chocolate pistachio flavor as well, but I felt that one was too sweet for my liking. I was very happy with my pistachio! My sister in law enjoyed fruity gelatos and my brother a rich, dark chocolate. Every gelato comes with a chocolate, which is a nice added touch. The store was clean, the workers very hospitable and the gelato delicious and authentic! Thank you Venchi for an awesome experience, as always! read more

Known for its 150-year-old tradition, Venchi, an Italian gelato and chocolate brand, crafts its gelato using traditional Italian handcrafting methods. It has won awards from the World Chocolate Awards and has been selected as the best gelato in France, the United States, and Rome. Venchi Chocolate & Gelato is always bustling with customers, offering a wide selection of chocolates and delicious, unique gelato. I tried the Mango Gelato, and I was deeply impressed by the chewy yet smooth texture and the rich, natural flavor of the mango. The coin-sized chocolate topping on top of the gelato added to the delightful experience. If you're visiting Times Square, I highly recommend trying the gelato at Venchi Chocolate & Gelato. read more

The ice cream is great. Just like a new other Vinci location. However their service here is horrible. Both the person at the cash register as well as the person taking the order and making your ice cream have a hard time understanding English. And when I had to repeat myself multiple times to both people, they were getting frustrated with me. I am a fluid native speaker and it was a bit baffling and frustrating at the same time. read more

Soooooo many chocolates to choose from! They also sell gelatos. It was a warm day in NY (Sunday 10/13), we stopped by in the late evening. There were a few people in the shop, the line was forming. We ordered the crepe with vanilla gelato. We expected the crepe to be plain but it was smeared with Nutella. I didn't ask for Nutella but oh well; it was delicious. 10 out of 10. I had asked for pistachio but they were sold out. They were sold out of a lot of flavors. I did get a sample of the coffee gelato and it was pretty good, it was creamy and had a great coffee flavor. I believe a lot of flavors were sold out due to the weather and it was almost closing time. Shop and staff were very welcoming. The staff were super professional but the guys behind the counter were taking a long time with one order. Beautiful displays of chocolates. Chocolates were on the pricey side, you can get some single wrapped chocolates per pound. I believe they were $14 per llb. Highly recommend Venchi. read more

Had they provided a free sample before paying, we wouldn't have purchased this... but they won't until you pay upfront. Horrible process. Very stingy with the servings and samples as well, which is understandable with the high traffic location but seems dishonest. They make you feel unwelcome when you even ask to get a sample after paying when you aren't sure which to choose. They give you less than a pee size amount to sample too. The gelato literally tastes like milk or water. Save your time and go to Anita's, it's much better. read more

Pretty good gelato! had the raspberry and it had a perfect sweet and tart balance. it's a bit pricey, a small scoop (in a cup) costing $7.95. WARNING the chocolate lining in the cup costs EXTRA! the attendant made it sound like the cups and cones just come with the chocolate rim, but then we ended up seeing a $3.70 extra charge on the recipe. although the chocolate was good, $12 for a small scoop was a surprise! ALL IN ALL good ice cream! recommend. read more

The staff is extremely unfriendly to non-Italian and non-native American English speakers. Our kids were trying samples and they were extremely rude to the kids. Either have a board / sign that says 'no sampling' or tell us how many samples are allowed right at the get-go. It's silly to be rude to customers who don't know the unspoken rules. Ridiculous behavior. read more

Customer service was amazing! Our server allowed us to take our time picking the flavors and gave us the chance to try multiple flavors before coming to a conclusion. The decor also allured us inside hahah. The flavors of the gelato weren't super prominent, but I'm not sure if that's how gelato was supposed to be. They offer the bottom of your cup to be coated with chocolate and hazelnut. Good late night sweet treat :) read more

I have been a regular customer at this Venchi location (7th Ave & 53rd St) for a long time, visiting at least once a week during my work break. Unfortunately, the customer service has consistently been disappointing, and tonight was the final straw. My first bad experience was around Christmas when I visited with a 5-year-old girl. I moved a small pouf so she could sit next to me, and instead of politely explaining their policy, an employee yelled at me in front of everyone. It was embarrassing and completely unnecessary. Since then, I've continued to notice that the staff are often slow and unfriendly. They rarely make customers feel welcome. Tonight, I waited in a long line wearing my work uniform. When it was my turn, the employee skipped over me and started helping another customer. I was standing right there, waiting like everyone else, but I was treated as if I didn't exist. It honestly made me feel disrespected and humiliated. I couldn't help but wonder if I was treated differently because I was wearing my work uniform--which is ironic, considering your employees are also in uniform. Another recurring issue is the inconsistency with toppings. Praline is listed as an available topping, yet when I bring friends to order it, employees sometimes insist it doesn't exist until I show them your own menu. That should never happen. I've been a loyal customer who has recommended this place and brought friends here many times. After today's experience, I won't be returning, and I can no longer recommend this location to anyone. This wasn't one bad day--it has been a pattern of rude, dismissive service over many visits. Excellent ice cream cannot make up for poor customer service. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because loyal customers deserve to be treated with respect. read more

I was overcharged by this store for ice cream for 2. It was almost $30. They erroneously charged me for add-ons I did not request. When I asked about it they gave me a nonsensical 'explanation' and refused to provide a copy of my receipt. I find this to be unacceptable. NOT RECOMMENDED. read more

I had read previous reviews that service is horrible. I was saddened to learn it is so true. Not only is the process to order and get served disappointing, there Is no orderly way in getting served. I was there yesterday and these very immature, hyperactive (Aussie, I would assume by their giggly accents) girls, were going back and forth looking at all the flavors and then they just settled in before me. I didn't say anything, but then soon regretted not speaking up as the jaded- looking server attended to them first. When I spoke up and said I was next, he didn't hear me or ignored me. I had to practically shout to get his attention. He then asked for my receipt, but I realized the inept, short girl at the register didn't give me my receipt. Needless to say, I had to now wait longer. As for the gelato, it was meh at best. I would not go back based on this experience. read more
