Which was kind of a rarity in Italy. Favorite highlight was scallops , super fresh and sweet. Also the squid ink scuttle fish with polenta was creamy and tasty If this was not reviewed by many I highly recommend this hidden gem. Would definitely be back if I were ever in the area again.

The lamb ribs were excellent, less of the typical "lamb" flavor that people sometimes shy away from. If you don't usually like lamb, you should try it. The servers were attentive, more than what you usually see in Europe. They were friendly once we had visited a couple of nights in a row. The atmosphere is quaint, located in an alley between two buildings as most of Venice is, with both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside every time because the weather was great. Service is typical as to expect, but they do check up and tend to tables a bit more throughout the dining. Is helpful in ordering additional drinks or dessert. They gave us some bread while we waited and we weee packed inside that restaurant with me practically touching shoulders with the table next to us. It was also super loud inside and very narrow to walk around. The food came out and the pizza tasted undercooked and overcooked at the same time and I couldn't finish it. The pasta was tasty but definitely way smaller than expected for the price. I would suggest checking out somewhere else if you're in Venice.

I was nervous looking at the large menu, but we ordered the chefs choice checceti and it was amazing. We also had two different pastas with cuttlefish and one with octopus sauce. This is how I wound up at Muro Venezia - Frari my first evening in Venice. Arriving to what looked like a full restaurant, I was happy to be seated al fresco along with everyone else who'd heeded the message to come here. Service, food, and ambiance were all quite good. Over beer, wine, a shared starter of assorted meatballs, and a shared pizza I found nothing to dislike. In fact, by the end of my 5 night stay I was almost ready to return here rather than risk having a mediocre meal elsewhere. You'll walk by a million restaurants in Venice, most looking almost identical to one another. Muro Venezia - Frari looks similar but it has a different, better energy. It's busy for a good reason. Stop, and see if there's a table for you.
