Let me tell you that the same pain is still there and my left arm and shoulder is WORSE than it was when I saw him. I complained to him after surgery of the same but worse pain and he told me "there is nothing more I can do for you surgically". I took my chart and walked out and saw Dr. Czarnecki in Glastonbury who is top notch. He told me that there was so so much scar tissue from the surgery that Dr. Mazzara should of scheduled me for a arthroscopic release and manipulation with anesthesia. Dr. Czarnecki scheduled me at UConn in Farmington with Dr. Robert Arcerio who performed the release and manipulation with anesthia, the procedure was a success. Dr. Arcerio warned me though that I have bad arthritis in that shoulder joint. STAY AWAY FROM DR MAZZARA, HES ALL ABOUT THE MONEY AND NOTHING MORE. HE'S A CROOK!! I see others agree with me.

And any medical doctor on this planet is an incredibly intelligent individual who had to work very hard to get to where they are today. But I don't think it's unfair to have some measure of expectation when seeing any doctor, orthopedists included. Stereotypes encountered are as follows: 1) Absolutely absurd wait time. I peered at the doctor's schedule through the glass - he's got a freakin' appointment EVERY FIVE MINUTES. That's patently ridiculous. I showed up on time for my appointment, waited 45 minutes in the waiting room, then another 20 in the examination room. All for a 5-minute consultation. Speaking of which... 2) Way, way, way too fast! Because of the aforementioned impossible-to-keep schedule, the doctor was in and out in less time than you can say "plantar fasciitis." He left no time for questions, comments, recommendations. Just an Rx for physical therapy and a puff of smoke. 3) The cost. I have crappy medical insurance, and wound up footing a quite ridiculous bill for this drive-thru level service. Thankfully, my injury required no further visits, because I am reluctant at best to come back. I suggest going to Orthopedic Associates of Hartford in Glastonbury if you can. They're a much better operation.

I was disappointment with my experience at the Orthopedic Walk In practice on Ensign Drive in Avon…read more After a clear shoulder injury and severe pain, conclusions were quickly jumped to and comparisons made to patients who are decades older than me, rather than on my actual history and symptoms. When I later had the follow up with the Orthopedic Physician, my concerns were again not fully heard, and the evaluation relied heavily on the PA's initial ( and incorrect) assumption, instead of reassessing my condition. Advanced imaging was initially refused, and I was sent to Physical Therapy. After months of limited improvement, imagining was finally ordered and showed that the initial assumption was wrong. Patients deserve to be listened to, have their concerns taken seriously, and to receive thoughtful, individualized care. Relying on age based comparisons and repeating unexamined assumptions can lead to delayed diagnosis, prolonged pain, and unnecessarily/ incorrect treatment.

They are kind and compassionate, but most importantly, they are knowledgeable and patient. They exhaust all non invasive treatments before suggesting surgery - they truly want what's best for the patient. Even better is the fact most of the less invasive options (ablation, injections, etc) are done right in office, allowing for continuity of care and more expediency. I was a very anxious patient leading up to my surgery and my multiple repeated questions were answered with care and compassion. I had multiple visits with the surgeon (Dr. Eisler) before settling on surgery and feeling truly comfortable because of a less than optimal previous spine surgery (different dr). He was an active listener and participant in my care the entire time. He reassured me he would meet with as many times as necessary to make sure I felt comfortable and educated on my condition and needed surgery. I'm happy to say the majority of my pain is gone post surgery (4 months) and I have my life back. I can't thank Dr, Eisler and his team enough. From the efficient and informative office staff, to the medical assistant, everyone in this office is top notch.
