There we were, a former division 3 starter and a former high school JV back up point guard going head to head in spot ones, giving the Manhattan skyline that stood tall in the background a show to start the day. The infamous "Battle for the Brooklyn Bridge," as some pundits are calling it. We were on one of the five courts, and there I was playing my typical game dribbling the air out of the ball to get a struggle bucket. He was lowkey cooking me I can't even lie. His 3pt percentage from treball was odee shooting hesi hang pulls... I would never say this to his face but he is a wonderful person and a gifted basketball player... it's a shame he's 5'6. After the war of the behemoths, endorphins flowing from a good sweat, we just sat there taking in the sites and talking about how much we love the game. Basketball genuinely makes me feel like a little kid again. It gives me that pure happiness and sense of purpose that I have spent my adult life trying to replicate in something else. Also, shoutout to the work besties of the world. You don't fully appreciate them until one of you leaves the job. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

As a visitor to the city, finding parking on a weekday afternoon was near impossible, until it became possible after what felt like 25 minutes of searching for a spot. The park is truly sprawling and there are many places to explore, including pavilions, bridges, falls, a pond, a creek, and endless paved trails. We also couldn't help but notice that the park overall may not have been maintained consistently, based on the extensive weeds in fountains, for instance. We saw at least two cafes that had pastries, sandwiches, and beverages on their menu that looked good enough to make us think we'd definitely go there if we lived locally. All in all, I'm grateful for this space being available for locals and visitors to enjoy, and hope it is maintained and stays open for many more years.

Lots of families, etc. Still, it can be an enjoyable time. I do prefer weekday visits myself. The walking/bike paths are a great way to see the park in its entirety. Plenty of green space for a picnic, playing frisbee, etc. Playground and splash pads as well. Of course, I can't forget the lake with all of the ducks splashing about. It's really a wonderful way to spend a day in Brooklyn, getting away from it all.

Looked more like a museum or some nice walkway to enjoy sightseeing of the Williamsburg bridge and the lower east side views of Manhattan, which is not that spectacular in my opinion because there are too many government buildings in that section so it's all brown over on the Manhattan side. Oh wells. Other than that, I'm shocked to see nice bathrooms a block away from the park for Domino Park guests! The bathrooms were really nice and modern! Each bathroom had dimmed lighting with a baby diaper changing station. One of the bathrooms was dirty with pee on the floor so I had to go to another one. Did not expect these nice bathrooms to get dirty like that! There were more bathrooms downstairs besides the ones on the first floor. The door to the bathrooms was very nice too! What a great job they did to this park. I cannot believe the Domino sugar factory still exists or is standing because I used to take the train and they be doing construction for many years for I don't know what reason. Looked like they turn downstairs into this nice modern park. So I went to the park to go to a Target pop up and got some nice freebies. There was enough space for pop ups and large crowds. Need to check out the rest of the park next time I'm here. Too bad there is no subway or trains going to this park and you need to resort to buses that take forever to arrive.

I am also so happy that Wheeler park welcomes everyone from all over NJ (and elsewhere). Coming from out of the county will cost you a bit more, but not much. If you live outside of Union County it is $4.00 for kids ($2.00 in county) and $6.00 for adults ($3.00 in county). This splash pad has every water feature a kid could ever need - from bigger twisty water slides, to a small dragon water slide. Also, water guns that you can shoot each other with, a pirate boat, water shooting up from the ground, and much more. My kids spent a little over 2 hours here and had an absolute blast. We've been here about 3 times and it never disappoints. Just be sure to bring some sort of shade covering. There isn't much cover at the splash pad so we usually bring our small beach tent with us. There is also a dry playground in the splash pad gated area where kids can play too. They have staff who help keep the kids safe and to make sure everyone goes down the water slides safe and sound. I highly recommend Wheeler Spray Park on a hot summer day.
