This store is on the other side of Dollar Tree. The employees there were really nice and helpful. The rental included helmets and bats so that was nice. You have to miss a couple of shots before you get the hang of things but once you get to swinging, it will be hard to stop. The hour went by fast and it was split between three people. There is no max for the cage rentals so if you wanted to share it with 10 people, you could. There is also a gym and private training lessons there for anyone interested. I completely understand that accidents happen and that kids get hurt while playing sports. We have had our children involved in sports since they were 3 years old, and we fully expect bumps and bruises. What is unacceptable is how the situation was handled. At no point did anyone call us, and the coach never mentioned that our son had been hit in the face. My son did tell the staff that he got hurt, yet no one offered him basic care or informed us about the incident when I picked him up. I only learned what happened because my son told me himself. Instead, they left it up to a 6-year-old to communicate what he needed. He's the youngest child there and, like many young children, he wanted to be tough in front of the older kids. Expecting a 1st-grader to recognize, communicate, and advocate for his own medical needs is simply not appropriate. For more than $250 a week for only a few hours of daily care, I expected the staff to take some initiative. Something as simple as offering ice or notifying a parent should be standard practice. What was even more disappointing was the owner's response. Rather than expressing concern or apologizing, I was told that because my son "didn't ask for anything," they didn't offer him anything. There was no acknowledgment that the situation could have been handled better, no commitment to improve their procedures, and ZERO empathy. Instead, the owner seemed offended that I raised the concern and told me my reaction was unfair. This review is not about a child getting hurt. It's about the complete lack of responsibility, care, and accountability shown afterward. When parents leave their children in your care, they trust you to look after them--not to rely on a 6-year-old to decide when he needs help. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this academy to any parent looking for a place that prioritizes the safety and well-being of young children.

Parking is interesting as the stadium is in the middle of a neighborhood. So plan accordingly before you go. There is a mix of paid parking and street parking around the area but with the size of the stadium that parking can get filled rather quickly. Note e if you stand right outside of the stadium, there's a likelihood that you could catch a foul ball right on the street. I witnessed that firsthand as I was leaving the stadium and one of the vendors straight up caught a a fly ball coming over the stadium wall with his bare hands. It was quite a sight to see. He absolutely loves the summer camp and the one-on-one lessons. He gets excited every single time we're on the way, especially knowing he'll get to see Coach Pete. That excitement alone speaks volumes. Thanks to the coaches, he now has a better stance, a stronger and more confident swing, and--most importantly--a real motivation to play and improve. Coach Devin and Coach Billy have been phenomenal with him: patient, encouraging, and great at meeting him at his level while still pushing him to grow. I've lived in the Cape Coral/Fort Myers area since 2013 and always knew about Gator Mike's, but…read morenever had a reason to visit until recently with my 7-year-old son. Unfortunately, it was a major letdown. ​We started with mini golf, which was decent. It's clean and clearly geared toward younger kids--a very simple par-2 setup--but my son enjoyed it, so no complaints there. ​The trouble started when we paid for go-karts. After buying tickets, we were told an employee would be over shortly. We walked the 200 yards to the track, waited 15 minutes, and no one ever showed up. We had to walk all the way back to the main building to remind the staff, at which point an employee realized it was his job, hopped on a golf cart, and drove over while we had to walk back to the track a third time. ​Once we finally got on the track, we were stopped after just one lap because the gas cap was left off our kart, sloshing fuel everywhere. Beyond the safety hazard, the karts were slow, the track was incredibly rough, and we had to dodge a dead dove in the middle of the lane. To top it off, the track safety lights were completely out of sync, with every single one displaying a different color. ​I used to be big into paintball in the 90s and was curious about their setup, but I'm glad we didn't bother. It's just a small netted enclosure with filthy blue turf and piles of debris scattered around for cover. (I was later told this is spewdball and under construction.... Right) ​Unless you're just dropping in for a quick round of kid-friendly mini golf, I'd recommend skipping the rest. We walked through the arcade, but MANY games were out of order EDIT: I left the exact above review and received a response from Gator Mike's stellar employee requesting to know where I live. Keep this in mind. Also, they claimed I lied about a fuel cap being loose? Let's talk about this. We were one lap in, thr kid with shoulder length brown hair and a hat walked on the track, held up a stop sign and said, "hold on. Your gas cap is off". Gator Mike's tried tried to threaten me by making this review... Why would I lie about a gas cap? That being said, our go kart race was recorded... To date I have been to five of the Grapefruit League stadiums and Ed Smith is absolutely my favorite. Sure, I am an O's fan and biased but even so, it's a great stadium. I love the character of the Spanish-Colonial architecture, the breezy concourse, abundant trees, big bathrooms, overall cleanliness and throw backs to Camden Yards. Camden green is abound and I like that this feels like the Orioles spring training home and not just some generic stadium. Also, people here are just happy and friendly. Both the concessions and team store are great. The team store is large and has lots of O's gear. I wish that they had more Spring Training-specific stuff. Back in the day I got some nice gear that was thoughtfully designed to incorporate elements of Florida, the Grapefruit League and the Orioles. On my most recent visit most of the gear I found was classic Orioles gear with the words "Spring Training" added to it. Snooze. There are various concession lines throughout the stadium so lines are never too long. On my recent visit I stuck to classic baseball game fare like hot dogs, soft pretzels and beer. Most concessions have the same stuff but there is one that offers healthy options and one place that is dedicated to craft beer. Also, if you're into chicken, there is a Chick-fil-A onsite. There are a few official lots for the stadium that offer parking around $20 although we paid a local business to pay in their lot for $20 which was equally as convenient. The surrounding streets close before the game and the area can get a little trafficky so if you want to be there for first pitch be sure to give yourself to find parking and your seat.
