BLUF: Character, cleanliness, happy people and good concessions makes this stadium a great place for Grapefruit League spring training baseball. To date I have been to five of the Grapefruit League stadiums and Ed Smith is absolutely my favorite. Sure, I am an O's fan and biased but even so, it's a great stadium. I love the character of the Spanish-Colonial architecture, the breezy concourse, abundant trees, big bathrooms, overall cleanliness and throw backs to Camden Yards. Camden green is abound and I like that this feels like the Orioles spring training home and not just some generic stadium. Also, people here are just happy and friendly. Both the concessions and team store are great. The team store is large and has lots of O's gear. I wish that they had more Spring Training-specific stuff. Back in the day I got some nice gear that was thoughtfully designed to incorporate elements of Florida, the Grapefruit League and the Orioles. On my most recent visit most of the gear I found was classic Orioles gear with the words "Spring Training" added to it. Snooze. There are various concession lines throughout the stadium so lines are never too long. On my recent visit I stuck to classic baseball game fare like hot dogs, soft pretzels and beer. Most concessions have the same stuff but there is one that offers healthy options and one place that is dedicated to craft beer. Also, if you're into chicken, there is a Chick-fil-A onsite. There are a few official lots for the stadium that offer parking around $20 although we paid a local business to pay in their lot for $20 which was equally as convenient. The surrounding streets close before the game and the area can get a little trafficky so if you want to be there for first pitch be sure to give yourself to find parking and your seat.

    Beautiful Day for Spring Training!

Fun day watching the Orioles play during Spring Training. Parking is fairly easy and affordable ($12-$15). Entrance is easy to go through with police presence. Seats are a bit too tight and too close to each other leaving little leg room. It is not as lively or kid friendly. Other stadiums have lots of fun activities for families, which is what they lack. Food is located mostly on first level with some on the 2nd level and outfield seating. Bathrooms are clean and staff are friendly.

Ed Smith is a nice venue to catch some pre season games. Parking isn't too bad, much of it is on the grass across the street. Be careful - the attendants will guide you in packed as sardines, so if you wanted or needed to get out early, you are stuck. The views are good from any seat. The food choices are good - something for everyone. Maybe I'm being a grumpy old man, but pricing is pretty high for this little place. But, still worth a once a year trip out there.

Stand out fan hospitality! Every greeter/usher to the person was exceptionally pleasant, upbeat, welcoming and helpful. There was music throughout the game, informative announcing, and engagement through the game - I'm so pleased with my experience. This stadium team outclasses the others I've experienced in GF league!

Spring training with the Orioles! All the staff were incredibly friendly and nice! What a great experience in a smaller stadium with great views and palm trees in the background. A decent amount of food options and treats - your usual hot dogs, burgers, chicken tenders, fries, subs, pretzels, popcorn, cotton candy, Dippin dots, etc. If you want to get autographs, it's best to go early and hope that the players are still out there for batting practice because midway, lots of the good players start leaving and the minor leaguers sub in. I did get quite a few autographs including one of my all-time favs Adam Jones! On the last day of Spring Training, they had fireworks and Jordan Westburg was signing for everyone the whole time. A great experience, must go for Orioles fans or anyone really!

How can you beat a 75 degree evening watching baseball in a small ballpark like Ed Smith Stadium?

We love seeing our MLB teams in action- especially when ticket prices are a fraction of regular season costs. The stadium has easy access for parking- all paid at $12-$20 in the surrounding area - and a short walk to the main gate. The Lions Club does burgers and the concessions offer hot dogs, fries and the usual assortment of stadium fare. Beer is plentiful. Cup holders on the seat backs are great and restrooms are clean. Fun night watching the Yankees play the O's!

We *loved* our first time at the Stadium! We had just remembered there was a ball team in Sarasota (although we'd bought tickets pre-Covid (which were cancelled) and thought it would be fun to try going again. WE'LL BE BACK for sure!! I'm not much of a sports fan at all, but baseball is my preferred game to watch. I had NO IDEA this was a "real" team (vs the Farm Team games we've gone to before). My favorite part of any sports game is the National Anthem and the flyover! At THIS game we had the MOST AMAZING group: The FOUR TOPS!! I do wish during the game and especially during the 7th Inning Stretch some of their hits had been played. LOVED when they ad-libbed "ain't no country like the one we got" right before "brave" at the end of the National Anthem! Class act all around - with the entire stadium: fans AND players showing respect to our flag! I had wished for the sales dudes ("Hot dogs, peanuts, ice cold beer"), but at the same time valued that lack of distraction. I'm not a fan of the usual "tired" music ("Charge!" - clap-clap-clap-clap-ad nauseam). It was difficult for me to see the scoreboard - perhaps digital lights would be more visible. Easy access to parking. Quick & efficient entry. CLEAN STADIUM! Great pre-game communications (who knew there was a "Ballpark" app and I could show our parking reservation and tickets from my phone?! Very helpful facilitators throughout the stadium to give direction and answer questions, and we felt very safe.

Wow, what a beautiful ballpark! Went here today for an Orioles/Tigers spring training game and had a wonderful time. It's so clean with tall corridors and ceilings behind the stands and nice green signs everywhere indicating what's what, very classy. Parking in the field near the side entrance was only $12. They open the doors one hour before the game starts. Staff were very friendly. Masks were mandatory everywhere; even while watching game. They had a few bars/counters selling ice cold beer so we went with that. They also have a Chick-Fil-A stand selling their chicken sandwiches, Salads, and other items; super cool! The ballpark has many empty seats due to the pandemic. Every other row was not available. The game went by quickly, and the announcers were great. Staff in the park were very good at keeping things orderly and respectful.

This review is really for their annual Halloween Event. We Love it and really appreciate it. They go all out with the help of community sponsors and helpers. We've had lots of fun. Thanks so much to the Orioles stadium and peeps!!!

Great Spring training site for the Orioles- easy to navigate, good sight lines and fan friendly atmosphere. Concessions don't cost an arm and a leg and ball players are kid friendly throwing balls to youngsters in the stands. Bring a hat because the sun can beat down on you along the first base sideline for half the game. Fun for the whole family and Covid protocols strictly followed- limited seating

    The mask police.
    Barri Z.

The ushers here are MASK police. Some more than others. Came here to have a good time, by choice! The mask patrol in our section (207) Older woman with long blonde ponytail) made everyone MISERABLE! She wanted your mask up between bites and sips). So she's okay with us getting overheated I guess. Believe me, this review was the consensus of everyone around us. She told the guy next to us to put his mask on - he was eating popcorn. She leaned over to look in his popcorn bag to make sure he had popcorn in it (getting closer than 6 feet!!) Someone needs to tell these people that we are not in Baltimore!!! The mask gives 0.5% protection - most people here are vaccinated - and EVERYONE here is here by choice to have an enjoyable day. We know what risks we face!!! You can die in many other ways! Maybe they should stop selling popcorn too because people can choke on it. The seats are already sectioned off, only every other sink or toilet is open - it's like March 2020 all over again. VERY DISAPPOINTED in this experience. If you are that afraid of Covid, stay home!! I'm sure they won't be changing their ways at this stadium sadly, so don't come here to support the Orioles unless you're okay getting overheated and treated like you're living in a socialist country. So sad what is happening to our country.

Nice little ballpark with some major league amenities. The breeze feels great here! Try the Maryland style crab cake, you won't be disappointed.

We took the kids (3- and 6-year old) to the renaissance Faire yesterday. They opened at 10am, but…read morewe ended up leaving SWFL around then, and arrived around 11:30am. The traffic wasn't too bad at all for a Saturday, and the fair itself wasn't as packed as I expected it. The fair was behind the big Robarts building , in the back fields. Fortunately, a nice gentleman spotted the kids' costumes and pointed us in the right direction. Parking was free, in the roped off fields. You walk towards the entrance, and they have bag checks. Then, there are the ticket booths, or you can go straight to the entrance with your emailed tickets, where they scan them with an iPad. Upon entering, there was a character there who sung a song our kids, pertaining to their knight and princess costumes. This was a pleasant start to get our kids in the "mood." Looking around, the site was very open and grassy (tennis shoes or comfy walking shoes recommended). There were many vendors selling clothing, handmade soaps, jewelry, etc. There were at least three food vendors (one with breakfast foods/coffee, one with steak tips/mashed potatoes/onions/peppers for $12, and one with chicken tenders, fries, etc. The turkey legs were $17. Lemonade were $6.) There were at least two "pubs" that had festive characters playing music for entertainment under big white tents. A pony ride was available for kids under 80lbs, for $7 a kid. An elephant ride was also available for $10/kid and $20/adult. They had many shows at different sections and different times throughout the property. For example, jousting, archery, storybook telling for kids, a cat/rat "circus," singers, plays, etc. There was also a Knight Training Class for kids, where the kids were paired up with trainers, then performed their skills for the prince. The prince then knighted them each, and even gave our daughter a little ring. They had a royal court that mingled with us "commoners" and ate in the regular picnic table section amongst others, while still acting their characters out. The jousting consisted of 2 rivals showing their skills catching rings and knocking over cans with their swords. They then tagged each other on their shields in a 3 round joust. There was a really cool presentation of a man performing on his 35 bronze bells. He played many tunes along with the music from the GOT and Harry Potter Theme songs. He was amazing! The last thing we did before leaving was watch the Colombian pirate show. It was going to be really cool with the acrobatics, but storm clouds rolled in and it started pouring rain, so it was postponed, while all fair goers ran under the cover of the tents. We spent about 2.5 hours there, and didn't interact with every vendor and show, but I felt like we got a good taste of the fair overall. I feel like one day was good enough with the kids, and not too long to make them distracted and tired. We enjoyed ourselves very much. I docked a star just because I felt like there could've been more food vendors, more interactive activities, and map/signs to point you in the direction of the specific shows you wanted to watch. It was a fun outing either way, and the kids liked seeing other people in costumes (not just the employees/actors).

This is my first FL business I've written as it's been 15 years since I've been there, mostly went…read moreto FL as a kid. I went to Hanover, MD this past Saturday & had a lot of complaints. Until after halftime intermission, I was going to slam them with a 1-star review, but 2nd half was solid with the best thing near the end being motorcycles in a sphere that went around in circles. They started with 2 motorcycles, & we were all glued to went 5 motorcycles went in there going around quickly in that sphere. In spite of a few positives, there were a litany of things that annoyed me. I paid for 2 tickets for my girlfriend & I for $23 each, so not too bad, as a group was going, & I thought it sounded pretty cool. I remember going to the circus when I was a little kid & found it enjoyable. I was willing to give it a chance thinking it sounded pretty cool, & to be fair, ome aspects were cool. But the show itself was more sizzle & not much steak. We walked in the tent in Arundel Mills parking lot on a mild 60's outside April day. Garden Bros advertised "Climate controlled". When I bought tickets on 3/17, I figured if it was seasonable weather on 4/11/26 in 60's, it'd be comfortable, or on the off chance it was unseasonably hot around 90 F in April which it will hit this Wednesday or unseasonably cold in 40's, tent was going to be a comfortable "climate control." In spite of comfortable temps outside, it was very hot in there in concession areas as well as arena itself. Also, food & drinks concessions had no prices on them. I don't like businesses that don't have prices on them. Some from our group bought food &/or drink, most of us didn't. Per what people said, hot dogs were $9 each, & bottled water was $6. $6 bottled water is comparable to a Capital One Arena pricing in DC. I wasn't surprised it was a rip-off. At least at any of the sports/concert arenas, prices are clearly listed so you know whatever probably ripoff you're paying. But here, you buy water, hot dog, popcorn, soda, etc., you're at the mercy at whatever they charge you unless you ask. Staff was also were aggressively yelling cold drinks, etc. I found this to be annoying too. If people want food or drink, it was clear that it was there, so they don't need to yelled to advertising the drinks. I also think the "climate controlled" is technically not false advertising; I believe they purposely "climate controlled" to be hot in there so people would buy more drinks. They also had various knickknacks like toy swords that light up & other junk made in China. Not only were the junky toys out in the entrance area, they were yelling out & holding up the brightly lit items throughout the show, which at times was distracting from the show. Kids are going to beg parents for the bright lit items during the show, or the kid is thirsty (which they & adults too would be in the very hot arena) &/or hungry. $23 reasonable price, but a total money grab over all the other stuff. We didn't fall for any of the extras, but we were annoyed by the aggressive sales & heat. In terms of the show itself, the first half especially was very amateur stuff. There was this stupid Junior the Clown, who came out between acts, who was annoying. I don't think I would've found much of his nonsense funny even as a kid; most of kids weren't laughing. The theme of the show was using various movies & the themes of each act was somehow related to the movie. Like for Wicked, they didn't defy gravity, but they were on ropes high up amongst other things, which was pretty good. For Star Wars the light sabers they were using didn't light up. They were just metal bars they were fighting each other. They were selling all kinds of crap that lit up, so you'd think they could've made a light saber that actually lit up...LAZY. It wasn't a big deal as we laughed about that nonsense. Further, the video graphics were terrible. You could see the panels & not good graphics. The movie scenes in the background moved quickly; like a few seconds per scenes they were using. I'm wondering if they could get away with a few second scene as I imagine they probably didn't get permission to use the movies in the show, but who knows. Also, sound quality wasn't so good on some of the non-sensical dialogue between Junior the Clown & the movie executive guy, but just as well as they sucked anyway. Also, don't expect animals like back when I was kid in the 90's. PETA ended that at some point in the early 21st century. I had kind of hoped there was some humane way to have an elephant in the mix, but I guess not. They had cute ponies, which looked miserable, outside going around in circle attached to metal bar kids rode on. If you're going to go, which I don't recommend, just don't say I didn't warn you. Be ready for heat, have plenty of money to shell out especially you have kids. I recommend eating & being well hydrated before going in, which my girlfriend & I were.

Kids had fun with the different Hollywood movie style scenes. Food and drink prices were crazy but similar to amusement parks and other events. For the ticket deals they offer, they have to make money some how. They had fans which made it kind of cold since outside was rainy and cold. You want to take pictures with a performer? $16.57, rides and other fun were about the same, but we're closed due to the rain. The 2 hrs was ok but could be hard for young kids, so be prepared to go walk outside or have enough money to buy treats. Will I go see it again? Probably not, it is a 1 and done kind of thing.
