I haven't written a Yelp review in over a decade. I am coming out of review retirement specifically…read moreto recommend Breda Moving after having them take care of our out-of-state move. Look, we all know moving sucks. It's the worst. I'd rather get a lobotomy. HOWEVER, Breda will make this terrible activity into something that is--dare I say?--enjoyable??? I first got in touch with Joe Breda months back, and he personally drove out to our three bedroom apartment to do a walkthrough and put together an estimate. One thing I truly appreciate about how they do things is that they estimate on the high-end of costs to mitigate any unfortunate surprises when the delivery happens. While their estimate was considerably higher than other places we looked, we ultimately went with them because of Joe's excellent, responsive communication and the obvious pride he takes in his work (also helps that we originally got a recommendation from a friend who had nothing but AMAZING THINGS to say about their cross-country move). I am so, so, so glad we did. Not only was Joe flexible with us, answering all of our questions leading up to the move, he was also able to make some adjustments ahead of our move, including accommodating a move date that was two weeks earlier than our original scheduled date. We had Breda's team pack our apartment, and their crew arrived right on time (in fact, about 10 minutes early), and the packing took about six hours. Not only was the crew efficient and OBSCENELY CAREFUL with all of our belongings (seriously, we never would have been that careful if we had done the packing ourselves), but they were also all extremely nice. My wife and I had a blast talking with them throughout the day, and it really put us at ease getting to know the folks who were handling our stuff. The next day was move day. Again, the team arrived slightly ahead of schedule, got straight to work, and in a few hours had us all packed up. They were super efficient and remarkably careful getting all of our belongings safely out of the apartment and onto the truck. We even have a couch that baaaaarely fit into our back room, and the team took the utmost care getting it out through a narrow hallway without scuffing or damaging any of the walls. Honestly, we had resigned ourselves to thinking that that item would be the thing that dinged us a bit on our security deposit. SPOILER ALERT: we got our full security deposit back because the Breda crew is just that friggin good. We were scheduled for delivery to our new house the next day. Joe handled the delivery personally with his team (he even brought his two kids along, who were awesome--they're not kidding when they say they're a family-run company). He called us when they were about an hour and a half away, and basically showed up right when they estimated. Even though it was a completely different crew than who packed up our stuff, they were all fast, friendly, and very, very careful with our belongings. Not to mention, the final cost came in well under their initial estimate. If you're reading this far, wow! I hope it's obvious just how happy I am with these folks. It's been over a week since the move was completed and I'm still thinking about what a great experience Breda provided. From first touch to final delivery, they took great care of us, and I would highly, highly recommend their services to anyone. I pray to whatever deity is out there that we don't have to move again for a long, long time, but if we do... I'm calling Breda.

First, the resources for the move were underestimated and it took 3 days to pack our furniture. Second, upon delivering our furniture there were adequate resources but furniture and boxes were not placed as directed causing a great deal of confusion for us after they left and a lot of work for the two of us to move heavy boxes and furniture to the proper rooms. Third, and most disappointing, was the damage to our furnishings: a chip in a painted Demilune; a split post on our very expensive four poster bed; a piece broken off on a gate leg table; and damage to a chest of drawers. When we put in our claims we were told that they did not do the damage and it would not be covered. For a quality furniture repair expert these repairs would not have been expensive and could easily have been performed by Adco but they have not taken responsibility for their mistakes, a normal cost of doing business. Price matters but quality, integrity, and service matter more.

The actual moving crew and Jared were polite, responsive and did a good job. However, during the…read moremove 2 expensive items broke and they would not pay for their replacement, or any amount at all! They snapped the mast on an enormous sailboat replica and broke a beautiful Tiffany lamp in half. When I called to report the two items were broken right away, the woman was very understanding and sent a form and told us not to worry, we had a year to submit the claim. My husband and I remember this distinctly. When she sent the form I did not read all the fine print. Plus, it is a second home so we aren't there very often. When we finally got settled and I submitted the form, it had been nine months and three weeks. They asked me for photos of everything which I submitted. Then they told me because I was past the nine month mark, and it did say that on the form somewhere, they wouldn't cover any of it!! Very disappointed! : (
