Svíčková sauce with no beef sirloin and bohemian dumplings
    Peter G.

This place was so worth climbing a few extra flights of stairs. As a vegan, it's been difficult to find options that honor the Bohemian culinary traditions of Prague... until I found Vegan's Prague. The food was phenomenal and the restaurant was lively and cozy at the same time.

Good food and drinks; nice rooftop view. My meal at Vegan's Prague consisted of Cabbage goulash/gulas with dumplings. Czech dumplings are a bit different from the dumpling I'm familiar with; it's more like a thick bread. This was my second time have goulash ever. My first was at another restaurant in Prague that had vegan options. That was phenomenal and set the bar high for goulash for me. Compared to what I had at the other restaurant, this one was more soupy which may just be their style. It was flavorful and the dumplings were just enough for the goulash. I had the raw chocolate cake; it was just alright, I would try another dessert next time. Staff was very nice and the waitress explained the dumplings to me and was very attentive.

I appreciate that they make traditional Czech dishes vegan, but there are better options for vegan Czech food in Prague. This was the first Czech food I had ever had and it was interesting just for being new. The dumplings were good, and the soup was good, but the cabbage goulash had a bitter aftertaste and the fake meat was dry. It was overpriced and a bit of a tourist trap in retrospect. My omnivore friend who was eating with me was very hesitant to eat any more vegan food after this.

Amazing vegan place located on Nerudova street on the way to Prague Castle. The restaurant is situated upstairs with a cute and cozy environment. Food**** Incredible cuisine paired with delicious options for drink. Atmosphere**** Cute and cozy upstairs environment with nice outside seating. Service**** With a smile, quick and friendly Price EE More than 15 euros per dish

Went here because of the name! In Prague, it's a little challenging to find vegan food. Pro tip: Make sure that you make a reservation so you can sit outside and see the castle. Overall, its a cute restaurant and the owner and his pup are lovely! If you are not from Prague, it's a must to try the goulash

Like everyone else has mentioned, worth the trip up the stairs for the food and then view! Friendly, warm, and helpful staff. Had the special James Bond burger and it was on point. Also had the avocado tartar as a starter with the delicious bread! Ordered more bread because it was soo good and had more tartar to put on top of it. Definitely stop by if you make your way to the Prague Castle.

A different eating experience from. Bellevue - but for a vegan restaurant excellent. Four stars because not easily accessible and special burger was too soft to manage in the bun. Dishes we had: shared starter platter w stuffed cucumber (cashew cheese), stuffed sweet red peppers, guacamole on homemade rye cracker and hummus. Mushroom soup was smooth and well seasoned Mains were burger special w roasted potatoes. Burger comes w avocado slices, cashew cream, tomatoes and lettuce on homemade bun w sunflower seeds. Dessert we chose was vegan chocolate banana carrot cake - dense but not overly heavy and moist and flavourful. Like a flourless cake. View from balcony is great but today was 33+. We sat indoor on top floor.

First and foremost, one should be aware that this is definitely not a wheelchair accommodating restaurant. Upon entering the entrance (which we already had to walk down multiple flights of stairs), we had to walk up 4-5 flights of stairs just to get to the restaurant --and the restaurant itself also is two floors, with more space at the top floor. However, the space is super nice and clean, and it was nicely ventilated and cool with all the windows wide open. As my husband and I were planning to attend a reception afterwards, we only ordered an appetizer and dessert with drinks. I ordered the homemade lemonade made from organic grapewine juice, which was absolutely delicious! It tasted like a sparkling grape juice that was perfectly light and refreshing to cool off from the weather. Our appetizer, avocado tartar, was also good --but I think "tomato tartar" would be a more suiting name, because that's what it mostly tasted. Lastly, we got the daily special baked cake, which was their poppyseed cheesecake. My husband and I quickly found out that we weren't big fans of poppyseed, but the cheesecake part of it was still delicious :)

Best advice is to climb that hill and then climb ALL THOSE STAIRS. After walking up & down Prague Castle all day, the last thing I wanted to do was climb up another hill then 4 stories to get to our dinging destination but boy am I glad I made the trek! Hot, savory & warming goulashes we're waiting on us. We chose the Traditional with potatoes and the Root Vegetable with Dumplings The traditional 2s like a hearty stew with huge tender hunks of potato, carrot, peppers and onion. The broth was incredibly flavorful! The root vegetable was like a sweet potato purée with tempeh cranberry sauce and dumplings.....just like Thanksgiving Beers to wash it all down. They only offered 1 on tap but it was a good one & paired well with our goulash So yeah.......the climb is worth it

It's up three flights of stairs.

I can't even begin to tell you how happy I was to find this place! I just happened to see the sign and we took about three flights of steps up to a gorgeous old restaurant. We were warmly greeted, both by the two gals working that night, and also by a group of about 10 European guys who invited us up onto the rooftop area where they were having drinks and smokes. We chose to sit inside where it was quiet - it wasn't very crowded for dinner on the night we arrived at around an hour before closing. I chose a soup of the day which was a green pea soup and it was very very good. Fresh and not overly salted. I went with the more traditional potato goulash and loved it while my mom ordered the vegetarian lasagna which I think had zucchini noodles if I remember correctly. Both of our entrees were absolutely delicious and I finished it up with a warm cup of ginger tea. Noms! A+ all around.

I was so glad I decided to come here after a day of sightseeing around Prague Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral. It's just down the hill on the western end of the castle, and up a few flights of stairs. It's an entirely vegan menu with a good number of gluten-free options, all clearly indicated on the menu. (Their special of the day was a delicious-looking burger, but it was unfortunately not gluten-free.) I ended up getting the gluten-free burger on the menu, which had a loosely structured patty of vegetables and tofu, with caramelized onions, tomatoes, a bunch of arugula, and a tarragon mustard sauce, on top of a potatoes au gratin "bun" (in other words, it's an "open-faced" burger but instead of a bun, it's a stack of potatoes au gratin). It was DELICIOUS, if not a bit heavy/oily. I couldn't finish the potatoes because of how full I was, but regardless, I loved every bite. They had a few seats open on their terrace, so I snagged a seat there and enjoyed the lovely backdrop of Prague Castle while I ate. They also have wifi, which made this foreign traveler without a European SIM card very happy. The servers are very friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for a better mid-afternoon dining experience.

    View from terrace.

Worth the climb. Prague has a great vegetarian scene and Vegan Prague is an exclamation point on it. This is truly vegan and worth the climb up the hill (and many stairs). Great food and fabulous service. The view is amazing...make sure to stop out on the terrace (see photo). Highly recommend

This place was vegan, but the reason I ended up choosing it was because it was one of the few places I could find that accepted credit card in the area. You have to go up a few flights of stairs to find the place, and the restaurant is on two floors, I ended up getting seated in the upper level. I had the Svickova with smoked tempeh, and it was okay. The dumplings themselves were quite good, but the sauce and the tempeh didn't quite capture how good the comparable meat version of the dish would have been. It's probably a good substitute if you're vegan, but it isn't quite the real thing.

There's vegetarian magic in the air at the Lekha Hlava Clear Head Restaurant in Prague…read more We'll start with the very cool location. It is off a quiet side street down a clean and safe-feeling but still mysterious alley - like its location is a secret. Our reservation was for 6:30 pm and they asked if we thought we'd be done by 8:00 - probably so we wouldn't see the next party taking our table and they wouldn't see us. Let's keep the all the info secure - that's what's best for everyone. If the omnivores find out about this place, the fate of the whole known universe could be at risk. What if everyone wanted to eat at vegetarian restaurants? Crazy, right? VIPs like our family (ha!) sit in the Blue Heaven room where the tables are fire. Seriously- they light up and glow like flaming wood logs with a starry sky above. Even the greatest sorcerers from history would be impressed. Love the theming. Magical. We began our meal with the Small Clear Head starter, featuring "Tofuie Gras", hummus and guacamole. The hummus and guac were both excellent- but the star of the show was the fake foie gras. This is a vegetarian restaurant- no geese were harmed yet the texture was perfect, the taste convincing and the mix with the jelly divine. Wowsa. Loved this dish. I also really enjoyed my Bao Bun Burger. I was going to do the Spinach Chimney but diverted at the last minute because I'd overdosed on this trip on potatoes already, and au gratin was more than I could handle. My daughter liked her Stir-Fry Noodles. My wife was indifferent on her Parmesan Pleasure Burger but I think she was jealous of my Bao Bun. We skipped dessert. Beyond just the wonderful food, there was so much about this restaurant that felt fun, interesting and surprising. Including the bathroom. Behind the toilet there's an opening to a dark empty space - it is truly a creepy void. What's back there? There's also a very old door with a bone-chilling stair down to a dark cellar. What's down there? What about upstairs - what happens there? More mysteries. There's magic in the air at Lekha Hlava Clear Head Restaurant. It is worth a visit, for vegetarians and omnivores too.

I decided I would try it anyway because it was in the area and had such good reviews, and I'm so glad I did! The transitional dish I opted for this time was the svíčková, some kind of soy meat cutlet topped with cranberry sauce, whipped cream, and some kind of creamy sauce covering the whole thing. Bread dumplings came with it, which were perfect for soaking up that creamy sauce. I'm not really sure how to describe what it tasted like as it was unlike anything I've ever eaten, but it was all flavorful, rich, and delicious! The whipped cream seemed especially random to me, but it was unsweetened so it wasn't actually too out of place. The meat alternative that was used was not too spongy, which often is the case with soy-based products. The ambiance is very cozy - I sat downstairs but it didn't feel like I was in a basement at all. No complaints about service either, and I appreciated that you could pay via the QR code at your table so I didn't have to worry about flagging a waitress down for the check. All in all a great experience and if I'm ever in Prague again, I will be back!
