Veganic is always a solid choice. The service is consistently good, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Revisiting my review here, as I tried a couple of other items. I got the hot basil with tofu and it was pretty good, I would consider ordering again if I wasn't in the mood for drunken noodles. We loved Veganic! My wife and I started with the combo satay, which included tofu and vegan chicken satay. We eat loads of tofu and I expected to prefer that, but the vegan chicken had an even better texture. The satay sauce and cucumber chutney were so good, we kept the leftover sauce to eat with our rice and noodles even after we finished the combo satay. For main dishes, my wife had the kua noodles with steamed tofu and I had the pineapple fried rice with fried tofu. The kua noodles were well cooked with a very mild smoky flavor. Lots of carrots and big chunks of steamed tofu so we got some in every bite. The pineapple fried rice was full of pineapple and cashews, and the portion was huge. We absolutely loved everything we tried and will definitely be back to try more items in the future! read more

The online ordering was quick and simple, and by the time I arrived, my food was ready to go. I loved that I could track my order and see when it was prepared. We went for the Pad See Ew with mock duck, and it did not disappoint! The mock duck was amazing--tender and full of flavor. We also tried the Thai Twin dish with mock shrimp and chicken in a sweet and sour sauce, served with veggies, pineapple, and cucumber. The mock chicken had a fantastic smoky flavor that really stood out, and the sweet and sour sauce was spot on, with the perfect balance of tanginess and sweetness, especially with the stewed fresh tomatoes. I don't eat vegan food too often, but I enjoyed this place a lot. I tried their Thai Spring Rolls for an appetizer, which was really good and had a lot of crispiness in each bite. For lunch, I wasn't too hungry, so I ended up going with the Wonton Soup. Overall, it was a good soup, but it was very bland. I had to add a lot of flavor in order to make it actually enjoyable to eat. I would give this place 3.5 stars, but I'm going to round up to 4 stars. Veganic has been my go-to Thai place whenever I'm around North Park/Hillcrest. Their food is always absolutely incredible, and I suspect the mock duck could fool an unsuspecting omnivore into thinking it was the real deal. The "mock meat" proteins at most Thai places I've been to has usually been pretty bad, so finding a place that does it right is a real gem. The vibe is always spot on too. I heard really good things about this place and I was really excited to try it. I've tried a vegan Vietnamese restaurant that I really enjoyed, so I couldn't wait to try a vegan Thai place. Parking can be difficult as it's street parking only. However, I found parking quickly right in front of the restaurant. You can place a togo order via calling or online. You can also dine in. I ordered the three flavors fish and my partner ordered the duck curry. I really enjoyed the three flavors fish. It was so delicious that even my partner started to eat my food. We basically inhaled that dish. The duck curry was just ok. The curry flavor was good, but the mock duck was hard and chewy. We both just weren't impressed with this dish. Honestly, I would give this place 3.5 stars, only because I wish it was more consistent. I would try this place if you're around the area. read more

So, it's small, noisy, and the decor is basic. But the food! I was skeptical a vegan Pad Ke Mao ("Drunken Noodles") was doable, but theirs is delicious, one of the best I've had and probably the best in San Diego. Service: excellent The servers are attentive and provide coverage for each section which is why I gave them high marks. The food menu covers the standard Thai cuisine from appetizers, entrees and desserts. We also ordered the Golden cups for starters, it was fresh and lite on the tummy. I had the Thai fried rice with the fried tofu. I usually get the chicken, next time I'll stick to my usual methodology. The chicken adds the flavor, which I was missing. This vegan Thai fried rice dish was good but upon writing this, I was looking for a little more flavor. For a vegan version they make the cooks do an excellent job! Will I still get the Thai fried rice again, 100%! My wife ordered the Som Tom salad it was fresh, very flavorful and there is some heat to this dish. There are no firefighters around so I have to get a zero or one. The crunch from the Virginia peanuts is a common ingredient to this dish so be conscious of this for allergy purposes. If you're in a group, or have kids this place can accommodate. The parking situation is street but if the post office is closed you can park there. It's a stone throw away. I've been to this place pre-pandemic and the cooks still know how to hit a home run! I recommend this place for lunch or dinner time. Dinner time can get a little busy. Enjoy! read more
