Very expensive and customer service is bad. Go to Bixby or Thrive instead. They're both cheaper and have better service.

They brought her out and she seemed fine. They explained to me they were able to retrieve one raisin. I was relieved because I thought she swallowed more. Now when it came to cost, I know these things can be costly. The Dr assistant did want me to pay between 3,500-4,500 for my fur baby to stay there for two nights to check her levels. When I informed the Dr assistant I did not have that sort of money. The Dr assistant demeanor seemed to have changed, but she followed up with me after and asked how Prada was holding up. The doctor on the other hand was very nice and accommodating. Luckily my fur baby Prada is very much alive. If my fur baby has another medical emergency I would come back here. Especially since this is the only emergency vet open 24/7.

In the beginning, everything seemed fine. I was able to get an appointment within two days after my regular veterinarian referred us for an ultrasound. When I arrived on 1/8/2026, I waited for more than an hour. I understood they were very busy, and an assistant came out to explain and apologize for the delay. When it was my turn, I met the doctor. She was very professional and kind. She performed the ultrasound and took her time explaining the results. I received my dog's medication there, and they explained how to administer it and told me to call if I had any questions. I was instructed to give my dog two prednisone pills for the first seven days, then reduce the dose to one and a half pills. While my dog was taking two pills, he improved--he was eating, breathing better, and walking. However, once I reduced the dose to one and a half pills, his health declined, and he began showing the same symptoms as before. I called the clinic VCA 1/18/2026 on a Monday to ask if I should return to the two-pill dosage. The doctor's assistant, Kylie, who was very kind, told me the doctor was not in and that she would send her a message and call me back as soon as she heard from her. Tuesday passed, so I called again and spoke with a woman named Jennifer, who was not very pleasant. She said, "Didn't the assistant tell you they would call you when the doctor gets back to her? She's not here and won't be back until Thursday." Thursday Jan. 22 Kylie texted me apologizing and letting me know that she would re-message. The doctor ,never got back to her. I waited until Thursday. No one called. More days passed, still no call. I did not call again because Jennifer had told me they would contact me once the doctor responded. Nearly a month went by, and I never received a call. During this time, my dog passed away. When I took my dog to his regular veterinarian on 1/26. I was told that VCA still had not sent them the ultrasound results. I had received the results myself ,but I am not a veterinarian and cannot interpret them properly. I am extremely disappointed. I have lost trust in this place. I had even referred a cousin to them, but I immediately called her and told her to cancel and seek care elsewhere. Once you leave this place, it feels like you no longer exist. I am still angry, disappointed, and confused. They were very attentive while I was there, but after I left, my dog felt like he no longer mattered. I am strongly considering contacting a lawyer.

He had been in a slow decline that suddenly turned rapid, and I knew we were at the end. What stood out most was the veterinarian's honesty. They checked his vitals, but we didn't pursue extensive diagnostics. Instead, he spoke candidly about what he was seeing--neurologically, Baxter was not himself and had clearly lost significant muscle mass. At his age, there was likely more going on than one treatable issue. The veterinarian could have easily recommended a long list of tests. Instead, he gave me real guidance. When I asked what he would do if it were his own dog, he told me he would choose euthanasia at this stage, explaining that "a day or a week too early is better than a day too late" to avoid unnecessary suffering. I had been struggling with this decision for a while, and that honesty helped me feel confident I was doing the right thing. It meant everything. Once I made the decision, the compassion from the staff was incredible. They handled everything with such care, dignity, and kindness. I've also been here before when Baxter was first diagnosed with heart failure, and had the same experience. The veterinarian literally told me it wasn't an emergency and that I could either proceed with treatment there or follow up with my regular vet the next day and save the cost of emergency care. That level of transparency really stuck with me. I'm truly grateful for this team and this office. If you're ever in a difficult situation with your pet, this is a place where you'll receive honest, compassionate care--not pressure to run unnecessary tests or take advantage of a vulnerable moment. Five stars, without hesitation.

I think every pet parent can agree that the most important thing for our fluffy little ones is proper care and love from the professionals treating them. This is why I'm rating this place a 5 star. She had already gone to her doctor earlier that day and was treated, and we thought she might be ok for the night at home; however, once the pain meds wore off, she was definitely not feeling well. We took her to the Fountain Valley Emergency Pet Hospital, and she was treated wonderfully. I've had previous poor experiences with other emergency rooms, but this one was different. From the moment we walked in, she had her vitals taken quickly. We then waited (not long) for her to see a doctor, and the doctor came in to give us an idea of what needed to be done. We left her there for further testing, fluids, and pain control. We were contacted, and the results were reviewed over the phone (I was sent links for radiology and labs) to go over them with the doctor. The plan of care was thoroughly explained, and she felt better the next morning. I even received updates and a photo from that evening. We picked her up and were sent home with medical records and everything she needed to continue care with her regular primary vet. Everything was also sent directly to her regular primary care vet. Everyone was pleasant and truly seemed to care about the circumstances. Dr You was great with her and very good at going over the results. Honey was treated like family. She left in the morning and was on the road to recovery along with her primary vet, whom we took her to that day. Lo and behold, the following week, Honey was outside using the backyard restroom when a coyote attacked her. Our black lab rescued her, and I am so thankful nothing worse happened. Be careful, it's Coyote season! I knew when that happened she had a laceration to her face and it would need to be repaired, it was after hours so there we went back to Fountain Valley Emergency Pet Hospital. We were seen relatively quickly; they had a busy night, and the doctor was in surgery when we arrived. Honey was stable, so we waited until she could be seen. Dr. Hoogeveen saw Honey and she was great, she came to speak to us and explain what Honey would need and the best course of treatment for her. Honey had to undergo general anesthesia, which we were extremely concerned about, given her age and the fact that she was still recovering from a very rough bout of pancreatitis. Dr. Hoogeveen walked us through it, answered all of our questions, and provided direction for her care. Honey stayed the night again, once Dr. Hoogeveen was done with the surgery she contacted us to let us know how everything went. We were able to pick up Honey in the morning, and she looked well. Honey recovered well,l and they took good care of her. Honey is now recovering at home after a very stressful two week,s and I am grateful that we had a place to go to for her care when her regular Vet was closed. As far as cleanliness, it's very clean. The staff are all wonderful. They offer different payment options, such as CareCredit and Cherry. I don't know if they offer others, but we were able to qualify for Cherry, which was a considerable relief after an expensive two weeks! Honey is now recovering at home. The only wish I have is that they would be open a bit later during the weekdays. Not every regular vet is open early for transfer. Hopefully, in the future, that can be an option. I wouldn't hesitate to take your pet here if you need emergent care. I appreciate that they treated Honey like family. Hopefully, we won't be back anytime soon, but I still recommend them if you need to!
