We took our little fur baby in three times over two days, and honestly the care we received meant everything to us. By the third visit, Dr. Podriza--who is probably one of the kindest people on the planet--took the time to really look closely at the X-rays and noticed something that needed more attention. We originally thought it might have just been something minor from a nail trim, but our baby ended up needing to stay overnight. The next morning, Dr. Biquet came in, did additional X-rays, and figured out exactly what was going on. You should have seen her face when she solved it--it was such a moment of relief. It was truly their teamwork, attention to detail, and how much they genuinely care that made all the difference. I really feel like they saved my dog, and I'm so grateful. All the staff approached my pet's issue with urgency, care, and professionalism. In addition, there was an issue with a pet owner who suffered an injury that the staff addressed quickly and with sensitivity to that person. Finally, there was another dog who arrived in extreme distress. I was impressed with the speed of the team's response to get that puppy back to a stable condition and empathy they had for the distraught owner. My best friend was having seizures after a tussle with one of our other dogs. He was a 5lb Yorkie who had an attitude even though he was 14.5 years old, couldn't see and missing most of his teeth. He was constantly with me when I was home and always traveled with me. When we came in they rushed him to trauma care and started treating him immediately. The staff and Dr were very supportive and caring. Once they explained what was going on they let my wife and I come to the decision to let him go without any coaxing or pushing. They have private rooms where you can sit with your family and pets for as long as you want. When it came time to say goodbye the vet explained everything to me. Again, they were very caring and compassionate. I will always miss him, but they made it easier to say goodbye. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Very kind people - but they wanted to charge $1,400.00 for X-rays and bloodwork, and I can't afford that. They wanted me to get signed up with a 3rd party financer to cover costs. I declined because that's just adding debt. I took my dog home after they gave some fluids. I was finally able to get her to drink some whole milk, then added some wet dog food and she's almost 100% better now. I recall back to a time when you took your dog to the vet and he knew enough about dogs that he could tell exactly what was going on by looking at and feeling around on the dog. X-rays were rare and did not cost $1,000. Bloodwork didn't cost $600.00 - all for mere exploratory purposes. This is NOT a ding on the wonderful staff at VEG ER. I was amazed at how efficient, kind, and caring the staff were. This is a slap at the veterinary medicine industry as a whole for becoming just as corrupted as the human medical industry has become. TEN STARS for the folks that work at VEG Emergency Group!! My 15 year old baby (Benjamin Button) suffered from a vestibular episode on 11/3. Vestibular episodes are very scary! My husband and I initially thought that our baby had had a stroke because he couldn't walk (his balance was all off) he was throwing up, and his eyes were moving rapidly and uncontrollably. When we arrived at VEG I ran inside and was greeted at the door by the nicest lady at the front desk. I immediately started crying just trying to explain his symptoms. While I was talking to her the vet (Dr. Kristen Hicks) and her team had already sprung into action and were outside with a gurney bringing our baby inside. They knew they would have to run some tests but they felt pretty confident that it was a vestibular episode- and that if given time he would more than likely come out of it. Since Button is at least 15 years old he requires a little more care and TLC than pups half his age- and he totally got it there. I was with him for almost 7 hours that day because unfortunately it was a really really busy day in the ER. The one doctor on staff that day, all of the nurses and vet techs were slammed. I witnessed so much heartbreak and happiness in one afternoon just sitting with my baby and watching these wonderful people do their jobs. I watched as they literally brought a sweet old dog back from the brink of death. I saw them console a young man who had no idea his beloved German shepherd was as sick as he was be given his options. And I saw them handle every situation with such love, care and compassion. I have so much gratitude, love and respect for Drs. Hicks and Biquet, Lisa, Kaylee, Beth and so many more!! There is no doubt that working in the Emergency Room of a Veterinarian Hospital is an incredibly difficult job but these ladies are the absolute best. My sweet boy is continuing to improve every day. We know that with his age that every single day with him is a gift. So from the bottom of our hearts- Thank you VEG!!! read more

My 15 year old fur baby needed the services of an ER. My vet recommended this facility. The ER was clean and well kept. They have snacks and drinks while your pet is being treated. (Nice touch) Upon arrival we were immediately greeted and taken into the main area where they treat your pet. I was surprised with the set up as all the pets and their family are kept together in a big open area while your pet is being treated. Dr. Jackson is the doctor that treated my pet and she was not only professional but compassionate and gentle with my pet. ALL the staff we interacted with were delightful!! read more

Took my dog in yesterday afternoon. For what I thought was either a bee/wasp sting in his eye or possibly a cactus spike. Gave him meds and said he would be fine. Got worse over night and took him to his normal vet the next morning early. He had bone cancer and a mass in his head near his eye. Do your job and do a wholistic view on the animal don't take my unprofessional owners opinion. Waylon had to be put down this morning.... Want to say these are wonderful caring people, my 12yr old cat had a heart murmur and fluid gathered in his abdomen. In 2 days he looked like had swallowed a water melon they dained almost 2Lts off my Ziggy. It gave me 1 more week with him and took him back there for his end of life care. It was done peacefully IV sedation I stayed with him till the end. They were caring and understanding offered a cremation service. Do understand the cost maybe hard for someone but it was totally worth every penny. I recommend them for any emergency pet needs or end of life services. GRRReat Experience!!! I called first thing on a Monday morning after I accidentally knocked a piece of raisin toast off the counter and my dog Pebbles gobbled it up before I could grab it. They told me to call Poison Control and then to call back if needed. After PC told me anything more than 2 raisins is considered toxic, I called back and they told me to come on in. From the moment we walked in all the staff was so welcoming and made you feel at ease. LOVED that they gave Pebbles her own bed to lay on while we were there. Dr. Golleher, Beth (LVT), and Cathy were AWESOME! They were calm and comforting and kept me informed of what to expect. Beth was amazing and even made a bib to keep the charcoal from getting on Pebbles as she had a photo shoot to do the next day. She didn't get a drop on her!!! I was instructed to follow up with our primary vet in 2 days for follow up labs and when our schedules didn't work out, I called VEG and they said I could bring Pebbles there to get the labs done. Dr. Key and Goleher are highly skilled. The staff is very knowledgeable complimentary and caring. Unfortunately like all medicine veterinary or otherwise profit is number one. This is not a knock on staff or physicians but rather culture from higher up administrative ceos etc. performing an X-ray was what I predicted even though doing so was as not applicable to find socks. We insisted on ultrasound and socks were found. The surgery was perfect but took almost 12 hours to get to because of wasted time on X ray and extensive ultrasound of every organ in my otherwise healthy dog. Ignorance is bliss but I am well versed in a great deal of medicine. Their recommendation was to send our dog home after X-ray and call if symptoms get worse. That is the only reason I am writing this review reluctantly. read more

This vet is so amazing, I have never been to an emergency vet and left feeling like it was 100% worth going and this one made it feel like that. I took my bunny in because he was shaking and going limp and as soon as we got there they led us back. Everyone there is so amazing and nice and I would reccomend this place to everyone. They even let us go to the back with him and I had my kids with me. You couldn't even smell animals in the clinic it's so so clean! Very nice hopsital!! I hope I don't have to go back but if I do I will choose this one over and over again. On top of everything they make sure you know how much everything is going to cost before they do it. read more

We came to VEG Fort Worth due to our 4 1/2 year old lab showing signs quickly declining labored breathing. When arriving to VEG, we were brought into the quarantine room because he had coughing symptoms for 2 days. When entering the room I observed exposed needles on top of the trashcan & a filthy room. That should've been a clear sign for us to walk out of there with our sweet boy & go somewhere else.They started taking his vitals & rec X-Rays given his labored breathing. At this point Jangos overall health was noticeably & quickly declining. It's important to note that we were at VEG for about 4 1/2H before we left. We were there for 3H, with him struggling to breath & getting worse. They never attempted any possible relief by giving him oxygen until 3H in. Once we heard back from the radiologist, Dr Dittman came in with vague information that they saw something on the X-Rays W/ his lungs that could be caused from infectious pneumonia. Aside from this, all of his vitals were normal (no fever, BP normal, etc. he was virtually a perfectly healthy dog) except for a slightly decreased oxygen read. Mind you, our dog had been struggling to breath for 3H now & all they offered was a small oxygen tube for us "to hold by his nose ourselves", no oxygen mask. She recommend hospitalization as the best option due to his difficulty breathing. When presenting cost, she started with "well he's a pretty large dog, that's more food, more fluids, bigger space, etc. we are looking at a minimum of $8-$12k for 24-48 hours with a possibility of more time." She was checking off this mental list of all the $, It was never about details how they will be providing life saving care for him. It was all about $$$. She had some of the worst bed side manner I've ever experienced, especially in a traumatizing situation where our dog is clearly suffering and there has still been ZERO medical intervention. She only focused on cost tied to his prognosis, mentioning iron lungs and more $$$.When we expressed not being able to afford these increased astronomical numbers, she offered credit option which we discussed and made the decision that we could not do that. After being there for 3H with his health continuing to decline and no further explanation as to what's going on besides brief medical terms and $ on top of the current $1.4K balance, they FINALLY gave him medicine to relax him. After inserting the catheter for the medication there was trash and blood left all over the floor. He was laying on the cold floor, still no oxygen mask, struggling. I had to go out to the car to bring in a blanket to rest his head on so he could have any sort of comfort. After turning down hospitalizing him due to cost, they FINALLY gave him a nebulizer to see if that would help, it did not. Especially after 3H of him struggling to breath. We were left feeling like we had no option left except to euthanize him as he continued to suffer or pay $20k+. it felt like we were surrounded by amateurs who didn't know what they were doing. It breaks my heart thinking about it. After an hour of what felt like slimy sales negotiation with Dr. Dittman w/ new options being thrown out all of a sudden "I guess I can try to keep him for 12 hours and see what happens" extreme pressure of what felt like an ultimatum & our only two options of euthanizing or hospitalization for $$$, we made the heartbreaking decision to euthanize because at this point our poor baby was suffering & had been for hours. He only felt some relief in the last 20m before the process of euthenization was started when they finally gave him medication to relax him. The only part of this experience that felt like they knew what they were doing was the euthenization process. We sat there and loved on our sweet boy as we said our goodbyes and cried. It's been 1 week since one of the most traumatizing experiences & worst days of our lives. Every night I've had the most gut wrenching feeling and thought, that if only we would have brought our sweet Jango anywhere else, could he still be here with us. read more

This in one of the best animal emergency clinics in fort worth. The facility is always clean, organized, and welcoming. Their open concept helps make the experience more comforting and removes a bit of the anxiety you experience when visiting emergency clinics. Watching the staff work is impressive. I love the care, concern and compassion Dr Golleher and her staff has shown me and my sweet doggy each time we've had to visit. We recently visited this facility and we're just so happy with our pups care! We did an emergency walk in and were seen in less than 5 minutes when before tried another vet and had been sitting in the waiting room for over an hour! They didn't force my pup to do anything and made him feel as comfortable as he could. They went over all of his medical expenses and broke everything down before any procedures to make sure we weren't surprised with any medical bill (which I really appreciate)! Once he was being cared for they helped us feel relieved and assured us he was doing perfect, even let us watch and made jokes to help us feel better! We even got to see his heart and kidneys! Not impressed. I took my dog for an emergency ck up as she had awoken me that more and was choking on some foreign object. I cleared her throat with my fingers as she was not breathing. She did recover but I thought it would be prudent to have her examined by a qualified Vet to be sure all was ok. When I arrived @ approximately 4:30 am I was promptly greeted and nearly immediately was speaking with a Vet and advising her as to my pets circumstances. That is when the assistant to the Vet asked about cuts on my hand which I was unaware of before she pointed it out to me. I had indeed cut the back of my hand on my dog's teeth when I was administering aid by preforming a finger swipe of my 3yo miniature pincher's throat. The Vet stated that this observation required her to report the incident to area Animal control. I picked up my dog and left immediately. It was more important to this Vet to report a non bite than it was to examine the animal for any potential issue. Bad form to say the least. read more

VEG on Camp Bowie is great and the staff is wonderful. We were able to talk to one of their veterinarians on the phone before going there. We had to have our feline fur-baby euthanized due to an abdominal cancer. Doctor Morton and Lisa, the vet tech, were so kind and understanding with us during the procedure. They were very professional throughout the process and explained everything in great detail. We were provided a comfortable, private environment and we never felt rushed to leave after it was over. Wonderful experience at VEG Camp Bowie. Able to stay with my dog the whole time to keep her calm. Dr G even referred us to get orthopedic surgery the same day. Her rear leg was disconnected when a cow kicked her and it would not stay aligned. She now has 2 pins and is on the mend. Outstanding care by staff. read more
