I brought it here to get resized and an updated appraisal. Once there, Ali talked me through ways to improve how the center diamond was set in the ring. We worked together and came up with a personalized frame and chose to add some side baguette diamonds to make the appearance of the center stone look bigger than it is. After a lot of back and forth, we came up with the perfect vision for the ring. Ali, Hagop and their whole team worked so hard in bringing my vision to life. We had Skylight Jewelers recommended by a local Facebook group when we asked around about a local…read morejeweler for an engagement ring, and we are thrilled with how everything went. My fiancé proposed without a long-term ring, since I wasn't sure exactly what style I wanted. We gathered a few pictures for inspiration and met with Spencer at Skylight Jewelers to create a custom design. We iterated a bit with him on the CAD model before finalizing everything and having it cast. We had Spencer purchase a lab diamond for the gemstone, and he helped us through the process on deciding between natural vs lab and the criteria for stone quality (which neither I nor my fiancé were familiar with). Everything turned out better than we could have hoped! My fiancé and I still think the ring is so pretty and is exactly what I wanted. Spencer and Eugene also worked with us on a couple follow up visits to resize the engagement ring so that it fit just right. As our wedding date got closer, we went back for wedding bands and the process was just as easy. We chose very plain band styles that Spencer cast in the correct size for both of us. I felt like I got a great deal. The one star is for the absolutely horrendous customer service from the owner, Donna DePrisco. After purchasing the ring and taking all of the paperwork with me, DePrisco's then mailed a second copy of my receipt to my home in an envelope labeled with their name and logo. My fiancé just so happened to retrieve the mail that day, and instantly knew what was up, spoiling the surprise and the biggest moment of my life. When I called the store to ask why on earth they would mail something to my home, knowing I lived with my fiancé, I was told "you forgot your receipt," which was not the case. Even if it were, they had my cell phone & email AND knew I was coming back a week later to pick it up. I spoke to Donna on the phone, who was very apologetic at the time and promised me she would take a good amount of money off the sale price and give me an additional gift to make up for the mistake. When I returned to pick up the ring, Donna conveniently had to "take a phone call" and avoided me the entire time. I was given no discount and no gift to make up for the mishap, despite being promised both by Donna. When I brought this up to other employees, they said there was nothing they could do unless Donna approved it herself. But she never got off the phone. I was in the store for close to an hour and she was in a back room taking a fake phone call the entire time. I returned a few weeks later with my fiancé to get the ring re-sized. The second I walked in I made eye contact with Donna, who once again took out her phone and pretended to be on a call the entire time we were there. We again brought up the mishap and asked for a gift or some kind of compensation in return. The employee said the best she could do was offer a pair of fake pearl earrings (valued at $40) to make up for everything. We reluctantly accepted, despite the fact that my fiancé does not wear pearls and did not want the earrings. We are still very happy with the ring itself, but will never ever be returning to DePriscos for anything simply because of Donna. Im still upset that they ruined the biggest moment of my life and did not do anything to make up for it, despite promising me they would. Be careful with this place -- Donna is a snake and will do anything for a dollar.
