I AM IN LOVE WITH VEE!!!! I had an amazing hair stylist in Scottsdale, AZ that I was with for 25 years. We moved to NC & I have struggled to find someone who can cut my fine, wavy hair the way my AZ stylist did. We came to Paris for my step daughter's wedding & the hairdresser in NC BUTCHERED my hair a week before we left. It was so awful! I looked on Yelp, saw Vee's reviews & took a wild chance. OMG!!!!! Scheduling from overseas was a breeze ( allow for ample advance time in booking, as she is understandably in-demand) in terms of communications and openness to my schedule and directional variability. Older, historically red hair in need of updated cut and transitioning color - she nailed both with impressive confidence! More than I would have paid in the Chicago suburbs, but i expected that in Paris, and definitely got service a level up from what I would have expected for the same price at home! So very happy with Vee's cut and color correction. trying to wean my hair off one of the best in the US, Christophe, I have just about tried every stylist and colorist in my little valley and Santa Barbara. Awesome. Vee suggested a cut that I would have never considered otherwise (nothing crazy or excentric, just different than the usual "rules" one hears about hair and face shapes and all that). Her work is like sculpting, indeed. I loved it when I got out of the salon, I loved it after the first wash, I loved it every day for 6 months! It gave new life to my curls, and it somehow made them look healthier and shinier! I'm getting a new appointment, and I'm looking forward to it. There are soooo many wonderful things I can say about this woman and her mad skills, but I don't want to bore anyone nor tire my fingers, so I'll give everyone the highlights: -Excellent communication and prompt response via emails. Vee was able to squeeze me in during my Paris stay due to a cancellation (THANK GOODNESS!!!) -Absolute master at cutting curly hair (THE best stylist I've ever come across, and I thought I couldn't find anyone better than my regular stylist back in the U.S.) -Knew exactly what I was hoping for in a cut and what my hair needed -Speaks English -Cutest little shop that makes you feel like you're in the home of your stylish friend -Uses great products that are good for your hair (I ended up buying the curl serum she used to style my hair which smells DELICIOUS) -Promotes and works with your natural hair texture -Vee is seriously a wonderful person If you live in Paris and Vee is not your stylist, what are you doing with your life?? That's a serious question. I'm still trying to figure out how to stow Vee away in my luggage and take her with me back to the U.S. Hmmmmm... OR I could come to Paris every 6 months. It's been a couple years, I'm leaving my review late... but I felt compelled to come back and say how special a haircut with Vee is. First is the charming little spot where she cuts-- a single chair, a relaxed ambiance, very cool, understated and détendu. Quite like Vee herself. Who is full of warmth and charm. I am Asian and have of course Asian hair, and I must agree when Vee says it's a specialty of hers. She gave it the most special, unique but understated, easy Parisian kind of cut. She parted it in the middle which I hadn't been doing but since have done. She didn't blow dry it (I never blow dry mine), but air dried it twirling it around her fingers as we languidly chatted. The result was a smooth and soft look and feel to my hair that I'd never seen before. Vee is special, she loves hair, she loves to play with it, as she said, and it shows. Vee is one of the best hair dressers I've ever experience. She made us feel so welcomed & comfortable as soon as we entered. She made my husband a cup of tea while he waited for my hair cut to finish. I was pretty nervous because I was getting my hair cut about shoulder length for the first time. She explained every detail what she was doing to my hair. Also, gave me suggestions and ideas what style I should do with my hair once she was done with it. She was fully booked, but managed to fit in my husband in and quickly shaved his hair. Thank you so much for being honest and made us feel like we were back at home in Sydney. This is my first review on Yelp as generally I'm just okay with most things. Except Vee. Vee is an artist! Her studio is so chic and comfortable and she is welcoming and friendly and beautiful. She will talk to you and find out exactly what it is that you are looking for and boy does she deliver.
