What a find! I'm on vacation from NY and wanted to treat myself to a quick cut. Made an appointment online the night before for 10:30am with Marie-Jo. She took me early and proceeded to give me one of the best shampoos I've ever had. Took her time with two washes and conditioner, and what felt like a 5 min head massage! I showed her a picture of the cut I wanted and she did a fantastic job! My hair is thick and takes forever to dry/style but she knew exactly how to handle it. The salon was clean and comfortable and the music was not intrusive. I don't speak French, she didn't speak English, and there was no one there to help translate -- and I still had an awesome experience for only about $62! read more

He and the rest of the stylists were so friendly and accommodating, from helping me book to getting my bangs trimmed. During my trip to Paris I wanted to find a hair salon to get a blow out for engagement pictures we were taking. My blow dryer from the US wouldn't work so I searched for salons on Yelp and made an appointment here. The young man who blew out my hair (I didn't catch his name) spoke English and did a great job!! I'm always nervous about getting my hair cut because I've gotten many more bad haircuts than good. Even the $150 ones. I have very thick, coarse, mostly straight, bleached hair that needs to be cut just right or it looks terrible. I made an appointment with Edouard while I was in Paris based on reviews. He totally exceeded my expectations. Not only did he listen to what I wanted, he then explained what he couldn't or wouldn't do based on my specific hair. In other words, he cut MY hair, didn't just give me a generic haircut. I wanted a messy French bob and I am extremely happy with the results. I don't even need to blow-dry my hair now and that used to take 20 minutes. Wash, condition, and go! I've also had to 'fix' almost every haircut I've had in the past because of the way my hair falls. Not this time, haven't had to touch a scissor. Edouard's English is perfect and he was really fun to talk to. All in all a terrific experience. Since I'm in southwest France for the next 4 months I'm planning on going back to Paris for another cut with Edouard before leaving France! read more

This place was fantastic! I live in Los Angeles and wanted to get my hair done in Paris while I was there on vacation. I researched Yelp and came across Air Ambiant that had nice reviews but not too many of them. I messaged via yelp to set up an appointment and got a response almost right away. The owner was very attentive - we exchanged several messages discussing what I'm looking for. When I came in my colorist was a lady (unfortunately, do not remember her name - will update) and my haircut was done by Philippe. I have to say that this is certainly THE BEST color and cut I've ever had! I could not believe how great it was done. In LA I tried several salons and stylists and somehow I always have to go back and fix something - it's never perfect from the first attempt, let alone I easily spend 5-6 hours at a salon. Here it was around 2-2.5 hours altogether and I got a perfect color, cut and treatment. I showed a picture of a color and a cut and got exactly what I asked for. I was going from lots of highlights back to my natural dirty blonde color - the color I got looked so natural and perfect that even I myself couldn't differentiate between parts that were my own hair and colored ones. Most importantly, the color stayed on for very long - at least 2 months it was not washing off at all (which is a rare case when you dye highlights with darker color). Also, there was a nice man in a salon working on a shop department who spoke English perfectly and helped with all the translations. Oh, forgot to mention, it's also very affordable, especially, considering the amazing service and quality you get (For my haircut, color and a treatment I paid around 130 euros). Whether you're local or visiting I totally recommend this salon. Even though I'm not in Paris all the time, this is now my place to get my hair done because I can be sure it will be done perfectly! read more

I waited to get my hair done as a treat in Paris. I chose Air Ambiant based on the excellent reviews given on Yelp. I grew up around the hair industry. My mother was a hairdresser. So I have an appreciation of what it means to work well with hair. I waited to have my hair done in Paris! I saw Marie-Jo who did an amazing job. She was great with colour, cutting and styling. I moved to Paris 2 1/2 years ago. Soon afterward I colored my hair from a box as I had been doing many years in the states. Boy did I botch it. I found Air Ambiant and Marie Jo the fantastic colorist fixed me up. Next time I returned Edouard (who speaks impeccable English) gave me a wonderful cut. I can't recommend them highly enough. Really excellent find if you're looking for a salon with English-speaking stylists (or just a salon in general) in Paris. Philippe was very accommodating when booking my appointment, and my stylist Edouard was the BEST. He took the time to speak to me in advance of my appointment, and really listened to what I wanted, while also giving his own opinion of what he thought would work for me. I was a little scared to go short and color my hair for the first time, but he did such a good job and I absolutely love my hair. The color is very natural-looking but really lifted my natural color, and the cut might be the best of my life. It looks so good. For cut, highlights and basebreaker (a oil shampoo that lightens your hair) I paid 150 euro, which is probably better than I could have gotten in the States for comparable service. I know I'll be back next time I'm in Paris. Highly recommend! read more

I was able to contact the salon through Phillipe, who was very quick to get back with me and fit me in that afternoon. I am from USA. I came to visit Paris and decided to have a new look. When I searched on internet, the first salon it displayed was Air Ambiant with great reviews. So decided to go there and took an appointment. I visited it for haircut and highlights. They did it so beautifully that I received a lots of compliments and am still getting them.. Loved the ambiance, their service, their attitudes, their dedication and their work. Totally satisfied with their work. I love the new look they gave me.
