My French is so-so but Veronique speaks English well and I was able to convey what I wanted. She made a suggestion that I was unsure of but lo and behold, it was much better than I imagined. Merci beaucoup, Veronique! I will frequent this place each time I visit Paris and hopefully, my transfer will go in soon so I could move here permanently and become a regular. I only know a few words in French, so I downloaded Google Translate to my phone so that I could communicate at least the basics. I was really nervous, but the women here were very welcoming and accommodating even though we didn't speak each other's language. A woman took my jacket to hang up, she gave me a quick hair wash / scalp massage, and then she cut my hair (combo of electric clippers and normal scissors). She also offered to gel it at the end. I paid 19€ on credit card, and then she seemed to really appreciate my 2€ cash tip. My hair looks great. P.S. If this review helped you, I'd love to hear it! We had spotted this salon earlier while walking from our hotel to Notre Dame and made reservations. It had a very pleasant and relaxing atmosphere and was frequented by neighborhood locals, obviously regular customers. They spoke no more English than we knew French, but we managed to communicate what we wanted with no problem and were very pleased with result. Would highly recommend!

This IS NOT a negative comment about this salon at all, just a heads up that in most salons in Paris it's NOT UNUSUAL to pay extra for things like shampoo and conditioner. Most places back home only charge extra for deep conditioning, so I hate to see negative reviews taking away from great work over things that are pretty standard there;) Just factor that in before you get hair done abroad. If I remember correctly, the place is an old candy factory that has has been passed down to multiple owners. It has a charm & they do things like let artists display their art on the walls for free. I have very difficult to straighten hair so I knew the hotel blow dryers would not be up to the challenge. It is 42 euro for a blow out - which is advertised out front as a "shampooing and brushing". I didn't have an appointment on a weekday and they could see me right away. The guy did a fantastic job. I am so happy with how it turned out. I am attaching some before and after photos.
