Don't know what has happened to this company. Used to be well run, but now the customer service is non-existent. Made 4 calls to the sales department to request a service call to upgrade our system. Was on hold for so long had to leave voicemails all 4 times I called. None of my calls were ever returned! The last straw was while out of town we received a text stating that our alarm had been tripped. The monitoring center for Vector never called the police! We ended up calling them directly ourselves! Thankfully, it was a false alarm. But what good is a security company that doesn't dispatch the police? Wanted to make a complaint to someone higher up in the company but no one ever picks up or returns a phone call. Attempting to transfer our service to ADT or Guardian. Can't happen soon enough! read more

We had a problem because the telephone was not connecting which I assume that meant the fire, police etc would not get an alert. A nice technician came up and installed 3 new pads that had wonderful pictures but still we had notices that the phone was not connected, which I assume means nothing was going to the police, fire etc, The system is usless except for the door dings. We did have a false alarm for fire today with no basis. We went with Vector for over 39 years but we are getting out of this because this company is a wreck and can't deliver basic services. read more

UPDATE: It's now entering July, 2018 and this extort Security is still stealing monthly fees from my son for a home he's not lived in since March, 2017. Looks like it's legal action time. We needed a smart home system and a security system. We called several National dealers as well as Vector and had them all out to review what we needed. Vector was the only one on time, they listened to our needs and provided the best overall value. The install guys were awesome. They were clean, respectful of our time and called on their way. We purchased a full system complete with 4 outside cameras in Nov of 2016, the cameras worked about 30% of the time, missed important things going on within our property. We constantly had issues with system and techs would come out (nice guys) and within a day or so of them leaving half the stuff wasn't working. After our obligation was up we tried several times to cancel and for them to come get the system, the lady told us $400 to get out of contract, we agreed to it and told her to send us the bill, next thing we got was from a collection agency for almost $700 - NOT ONE TIME DID THEY EVER SEND A BILL - and straight lied to us, they said it was for "new equipment" that never worked right so we tried to send their junk back but they wouldn't take it. AWFUL COMPANY - AWFUL EQUIP - NEVER WORKS WHEN U NEED IT - we have since switched to Vivint Security, better cameras, better resolution and real time activity when someone enters your camera view, i would get a notification from vector of someone on my porch or in my yard the following day. Bottom line i got stuck with no notice collection and they didn't stand by their word. Ruined my credit score and they NEVER followed up on the original price to settle up the balance. System is expensive but seems good. On site installers sem professional and good at what they do. However the batteries on the wireless components fail regularly. The system then beeps every 5 minutes (driving you utterly crazy) and it takes them a week or more to get there to service the system. Communication with Vector is poor. They respond slowly and have utterly ridiculous hold times on the phone; I waited ten minutes, was disconnected, called back and was on hold for another 20 minutes trying to reach the service department.. read more
