If you haven't shopped at this gem in Center Market, Wheeling, WV, you are missing out!! Love that the shop carries locally made candles, which are the best, and body lotions and so many other unique gifts! The women are always willing to help you bring to fruition the ideas you have for a certain space! They carry the best greenery around!! Check them out! read more

What began as The Vintage Cottage, a cool little shop offering unique home decor and furnishings has now grown into an even larger location, while still in the heart of Wheeling's historic Centre Market. We continue to focus on offering unique home decor and furniture - antique, vintage, new, and found; as well as offering our customers unique handcrafted and locally made items, as well as interior decorating services. I understand the value of shopping small. Of supporting our local communities. Therefore we strive to shop local as well. Our soy candles are locally made. As is our jewelry, signage, and several home accents. Our no-wax chock paint line is also made in the USA. We believe in dreaming big and shopping small.

History

Established in 2014.

I have always loved to decorate. Since I moved out on my own, "fun" for me was looking through a magazine and rearranging the furniture and decor in my space. I also loved finding unique, affordable pieces to bring character and warmth to my home. Opening my own shop in the historic district of Centre Market of Wheeling was a crazy leap of faith. One that never would have happened without one of life's famous curve balls: I was laid-off from my high school English position after a 21-year career in education & forced to work with an age group out of my comfort zone. I always encouraged my students to be sure to do something they love - not just spend your days at a job that is draining. Now here we are, embarking on our fourth year in business.

I did not see the other fitting rooms until afterwards. I apologized and he was still very rude to me. The lady checking me out was very sweet and even got me a tissue. Maybe Boscov's should make their fitting rooms more clear.

We got there around 8pm on a Saturday, and still found some of what we wanted. I needed jeans, and ended up with one pair. They have a ton, but things aren't organized very well on the racks (a result of people picking through them all day.) There were lots of styles to choose from. I didn't look closely at the rest of the men's clothes, but there seemed to be a wide variety. I also ended up getting some nice slippers for way cheaper than anywhere else. It's not just clothes. There are some household goods, and odds and ends, toys, etc. Service was good, the lines weren't bad, and the place is clean and easy to get around. I'm sure we'll be back someday. I've heard about it for years, but never made it in. Now, I'll be watching for them. We need this in Columbus!

I had them ring one thing up because last month when I was there I had 147 or so points and wasn't eligible for any more coupons, and I wanted a coupon for the rest of my stuff. New month I would be eligible for coupons right? WRONG! Because the first of the year you wiped all the points off of everyones card. So now I have to start all over?? Wrong. I will never darken the door of your damn stores ever again. You screwed people when they went from 3 coupons a month to one and now you take all of the points. Thanks for nothing!

The customer walks through sliding glass doors and sees an array of sorted furniture from chairs to coffee tables to couches & dressers. When the customer finds piece of furniture they like, simply bring the tag attached to the piece to the front counter for a quick & easy checkout experience.
