This review is long overdue!…read more I've taken classes at both the Montrose and Glendale locations, and I truly can't say enough great things about these studios. After trying several other Pilates studios that felt impersonal, Motivate was such a breath of fresh air. Every single instructor is fantastic, but a few deserve a special mention. Odet is incredibly knowledgeable. This girl knows fitness! She knows exactly how to challenge and motivate her clients. Christine's positive energy, smile and genuine kindness make every class such a joy. Alin is also another amazing and motivating instructor. And Courtney somehow delivers an amazing workout while keeping everyone laughing, it's like getting a comedy show with your Pilates class! I can go on and on about each and every single instructor. Both studios are true gems for the Montrose and Glendale communities. The instructors, the atmosphere, and the workouts are second to none. I genuinely look forward to every class. Five stars simply aren't enough!

Our reviews were also deleted from the ClassPass booking page. I would question the validity of the good reviews for this studio considering that they are actively retaliating against people that speak honestly about their experience here. She has a great sense of my strengths and weaknesses and focuses on what I need to improve. I attribute my smooth pregnancy and delivery to Quyen. Not only were our training sessions very productive, but she also assigned me stretching and exercises to accomplish outside of our training time. Yesterday, I trained wearing the exact same outfit and sandals. I completed my entire workout, and not a single employee said anything to me about violating any policy. Today, I came in wearing the exact same outfit. After I had already entered the gym, the General Manager, Johny, approached me and told me to come with him. He informed me that I could not work out wearing sandals because of their policy. I calmly explained that no one had ever informed me of this rule before, especially considering I had trained the day before in the same outfit without any issue. I simply asked if they could make an exception this one time since the rule had never been communicated to me. At that point, another employee claimed she had already warned me previously. That statement was completely false. She has never spoken to me about sandals or any dress code. Instead of handling the situation professionally, Johny immediately escalated it. Rather than allowing me to change my shoes, explaining the policy respectfully, or simply asking me to leave for the day, he told me they wanted to cancel my membership, gave me two minutes to leave the gym, and threatened to call the police if I didn't. I was shocked by how aggressively this situation was handled. After being a loyal member for over a year, I expected respect and professionalism, not intimidation and false accusations. Policies should be enforced consistently. If sandals are not allowed, then that rule should be communicated clearly and applied equally to everyone--not ignored one day and turned into a threat of police involvement the next. This experience completely changed my opinion of this location. I hope Planet Fitness management reviews how members are treated, because no paying customer deserves to be treated this way.

BUT I don't think I've ever been anywhere that was so unprofessionally run by management before. Mind you, this took months of build up for me to get to the point of finally put my thoughts on Yelp as a review. This place started off as Immunity Fitness (I have photos attached, please refer to them) and it was in a different location. Clients were updated with occasional emails which I appreciated quite a bit. I was even understanding that the gym needed to change locations, which was only a couple of blocks down the street. Not a big deal. BUT this is when things took a very poor turn. The emailed updates stopped coming. All updates were just scribbled notes taped onto the front door entrance. They changed their name to City Fit (which I was unaware of due to no updates) and when I was charged under this new name, I thought my card had been hacked so I had to call my credit card company for a replacement card and new number. This is already a hassle because I have to go through all my subscriptions and change the CC numbers manually. Unfortunately it wasn't the only time this happened. Again with no updates I was charged under yet another name: Precision Tune Auto Care. I stared at this statement for a good long while because for the life of me I couldn't remember getting my car fixed up from an auto care shop. I again had to get a new credit card and number thinking I got hacked again, once more having to go through all my subscriptions and changing the numbers manually. It wasn't until I got to the gym that I realized they changed the name on us again. Management changed and I was forced to take a photo of my drivers license and send it to a private number which I was really uncomfortable with, but had no choice because they wouldn't give me the code to the front door until I had done so. Again all this with no email updates or notices. Just a hand scribbled message taped onto the front door. No idea what the point of the multiple name changes are. Hopefully they're not up to shady intentions. If you look around the gym there's actually no license or permit for the gym which is also pretty sketchy. Equipment is on the older side and things are falling apart. Found some broken equipment today. I wouldn't be surprised if they threw us another curveball with no updates or if they read this and straight up cancel my membership without telling me. I've talked with some of the other members and they have shared their frustrations of the same issues with me as well. For anyone considering signing up here, I hope you read this so you can really make an informed decision before you decide to make the commitment here.
