I had a terrible experience recently that made me feel so unseen. I was trying to enter into the sauna but couldn't because the scanner wasn't working. I was standing with a few other women sort of waiting for someone to come out so we could enter I got the swimming pool area. I felt like I didn't want to waste time so I decided to go find an employee. When I did I got the attention of some guy who listened to my story about how the scanner wasn't working. And that I knew it wasn't a a card or membership problem. It was the scanner, I watched other girls try to get in as well. No one could. This guy made me scan my membership so he could check that I pay for this. It worked and then asked what the problem is and I explained the entire situation and then he said oh that sounds like a problem you need help and you can go ask that girl to help you. I was shocked and a little mad. He took no responsibility to help me or even explain to the next employee what needed to happen. I got the female employee to help me but I was so mad with this the male. It was not good. He wasted like 15 mins of my time. In total of explaining and waiting for the door to be open I think it wasted 25 mins of my night. I was not okay with this. read more

My wife was lied to about house to cancel her account. The employee told her that her cancellation was all set to go and we continued to get charged multiple times. When we contacted the billing department and they were not helpful at all. We got sent on loop talking to multiple people each one less helpful then the last. Please think hard before signing up to this gym. They will lie to you, just to get you to sign up and then screw you hard with hidden fees. read more

Love this location. It's always clean, and if you go regularly enough? You become a part of a gym family. And the connections made here are what keep me coming. I do actually work here now, but the only reason I applied for a position here is because of the family I created while working out, the staff I became acquaintances with, and the group fitness classes provided. I was here often enough that I wanted more! Lol. Sure, you get people who don't pickup after themselves, or the busy times during the day can be tough for machines, but I still feel VASA is far better than Golds Gym and I'm so glad they took over. read more

They make it look easy and like good pricing up front, but once they have your card and info they make it very hard for you to make payments and very easy for you to miss them! Once they get you to miss a payment they lock on EXTENSIVE late fees! What started as a $10/month membership quickly ended up costing me $100 in two months!! Fees fees fees, and more fees.... BUYERS BEWARE!... there are all sorts of hidden junk fees that most people won't be aware of but are hidden cleverly in the contract you sign. If you sign up and then want to change your plan, $25 downgrade fee, if you cancel within the first 6 months $25 fee and then there's the $50 yearly fee after 2 months... and when you decide to cancel they need a "30 day notice" which translates to you pay for next month's charge when canceling!.. oh and don't forget they charge you $2.50 extra for using a credit or debit card on every single itemized charge. We went here to sign up my wife and on the enrollment form there was an option to "add a family member" with zero indication that it cost extra we naively put my name there as well thinking it would allow me to share her membership, and when we reached the final screen with the total cost and next months cost everything looked as it should, one price no extra charges they didn't tell us about, but boy were we in for a treat! As it turns out Vasa created TWO ACCOUNTS! One for me and one for my wife, but we didn't know at the time, because there was zero indication that that's what had happened. When we logged into her account for the first time we were very confused, it didn't show an extra charge for an extra member, just her charges, and with no way to remove my name from her account I called customer service and they then informed me that two accounts had been created both being billed to her card and that we're each under two separate contacts!!! I couldn't believe it. And now I'm currently deep in customer service hell calling and emailing them to try and fix this! And they sent me the contract and I read that thing up down left and right and there's still no indication that two accounts would be formed! Absolute scam of a company! read more

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING IT! Disgusting. This company has owners that have set policy in place to rob poor people. I am in total shock after personally experiencing what is likely the worst customer service experience I've had in years. Essentially, this company is forcing poor people to go into debt with them for hundreds of dollars, by refusing to allow them to cancel when they cannot afford their membership, no matter the reason. I have cancer, and other illnesses, and I can not afford my membership. They charged me 108.00 for the year fees, instead of the 25.00 per month. They overdrew my account and then charged me 25.00 on top of all their other fees for my bank not having the amount billed. I immediately tried to cancel but they refused to cancel my membership until I paid all the fees. I told them I had no money! They said sorry, the contract says we can charge you 25.00 per month for decline fees, and 25.00 per month membership fees, and the 25.00 cancel fee if you want to cancel. Because I couldn't afford the fees, they REFUSED TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP! So, each month, they will keep charging me the 50.00 fees for the membership they WONT cancel, AND THE 25.00 decline fee! I have never used the membership once! The POOR can't cancel! So they will ruin their credit, and let the fees accumulate until their legal dept. has enough money to go after them legally. Its disgusting. If I was a millionaire, I'd do a documentary on this company and plead with the members who are wealthy to refuse to do business with them, until they change their policy. Both corporate and VASA fitness facility said they would not cancel anyone's membership, until they paid all their fees (yearly, monthly and any decline fees) in full. This is the grossest gym I've ever been to. It's super muggy and dirty and it claims to have a hot tub, sauna and steam room, but I can only imagine all the disgusting germs that grow in there. The equipment is old and it's not uncommon to see equipment out of commission. I don't work out to socialize, I work out to work out. But if you are there to socialize, I guess this is the place. This gym is a rip off. They advertise memberships in the $25 ish range, but will charge you I double that and some kind of other charges for $97. When you call customer service they are unhelpful and won't even cancel because you have to pay an extra fee to cancel even if you're unsatisfied with the services. I really like the people that come here. Management of it as a facility is pretty poor. The machines are close together and the roof leaks. They have a great selection of equipment. But the weirdest thing happened this morning. They say they open at 4:30 (they usually do), but as of 5:30, there is only a dark gym and a bunch of us standing around outside (and some of us running and doing push ups).We called a phone number advertised outside and we were told a general director had been contacted at 5:00 and could no longer be reached. Update: the person who opens was in the ER. No one got her message until late. The next day there were granola bars and bottles of water as a thank you from the staff. Thanks, guys! read more

Total joke of a gym. If you are like the 50 other people that are at the gym when they are supposed to open at 4:30, be prepared to wait, and wait, and wait.... This has been the worst childcare at a gym I have ever seen. My husband and I signed up, paid the child care fees, I was so excited to finally work out after having my baby. She is 7 months and can barely sit by herself. I go in and theres a baby younger than her screaming on the floor while both the workers didn't have any babies in their arms. I told them if she cries like that please notify me. I worked out without anyone getting me, go back and walk in and my baby is in the corner screaming and crying so hard she can hardly breath and the worker isn't holding her and has her arms empty. I was shocked and very disappointed. There were only 3 other kids in there watching a movie. They are lazy and don't care about your children. We won't be going back. They were both blonde, rude, and unfriendly. I used to work in a vasa daycare and know this is totally unacceptable. read more

Gym is nice. Equipment is on point and faculty are legit. I like it! ... Especially the squat racks because no one trains legs here.

What is there to say about this gym that hasn't already been said? In brief, it's one of the only gyms in Spanish Fork, so even if it's kind of crappy, you're kind of stuck here and they know it. The pricing structure is a fascinating exercise in sucking you dry and making you wonder if you really want to pay the required money to cancel or just keep paying the cheap membership fee. The gym has a section devoted to cardio and one devoted to weight machines and things. It smells weird and is usually a little grungy, but there are worse places. It's also usually fairly crowded (see above about it being one of the only gyms in town) so getting the specific machine you want might be a struggle. The machines I've used aren't terrible and the people there seem pretty focused on their own fitness goals, so there's no harassment or anything. Oh. And they harass you about the personal training plans. A lot. And nickel and dime you constantly. Other than that, it's fine. Nothing particularly exciting about it. read more

The men's locker room is pretty gross. It feels as though they do the bare minimum go clean it up. Like empty the garbages and that's it. There was a piece of gum stuck in the same shower for over two weeks, never got cleaned. The hot tub, pool, and sauna areas are strictly reserved for high school make out sessions... My son signed up for personal training. We thought it was just for a certain period of time, but they continued to automatically take out fees monthly after the agreed upon time. To cancel you also have to give them a 30 day notice plus make an additional payment if it's off by one day! The problem is that the head trainer who signed him up was not up front and adamantly claimed that there would not be additional charges after the agreeded upon time. read more

The new GM, Stacy, is basically ruining the fitness classes for a lot of people. She kicked out the customer favorite teacher in order to teach her own format of a "PUMP" class. Bottom line: Stacy knows NOTHING about fitness and gives horrible advice to people. People will stop showing up to Stacy's class, which in turn will make her angry because she's power hungry and not a good manager/team player. She will probably begin to take over all other classes so she can say she's still teaching, thus pushing more people away from classes. She is going to ruin this gym. Stacy, if you read this, please stop being a poor manager and leader for this gym. You will damage its reputation even more. You've already made it impossible for parents using childcare to drop their child(ren) off. You're ruining the fitness classes. The bathrooms have multiple broken toilets. This gym is less than a year old, and you're not able to make it better. I really hope to update this review later and say Stacy is doing better, but honestly I think she's going to kamikaze this thing right to her last day. read more

Well, it's not small or dirty anymore, I'm still quite incensed about the events in question and think they could've been handled a LOT better - but they're also just about the ONLY gym in Spanish Fork, and while the rec centers in neighboring cities are GREAT for fun excursions, the daily grind of hitting the gym demands a closer solution. The new gyms amenities are EXCELLENT - cardio cinema is lovely, the functional training areas are comparatively large and lovely, the sauna is awesome (though there was some strange noise coming from the neighboring steam room while I was in there), and the staff are really nice awesome people who got caught between my irritation at having been given false information when I signed up and their need to enforce those rules regardless. So VASA overall as an institution gets 0 stars, but this facility gets five. Rounded down, I'm giving it two stars for now, I'll try to update again later, depending on how hard they work to keep it in good repair (which is always a hard thing with a gym! :) ) Of note, we used their kidcare facilities the other day, and they were excellent - lots of space, enclosed area, professional, kind staff, great toys for the kids to play with! Our son had a bad behavior day that day, too, and they handled it like pros, though they did have to come get us finally - it was a rough day for our toddler, but he says still quite liked the place and had a lot of fun. :) read more

The facility has all the same 20yr old equipment it had when it was run by golds gym. The real issue is the company though. Because of work demands I needed to cancel my membership. This is when the relationship turned predatory. I was sent on a rabbit chase of sorts each employee, customer rep, billing specialist, telling me I needed to email, or call someone else to cancel. It is obvious their cancelation process is purposefully muddy, mis-trained, and tedious to get people to give up. I was literally on the phone with the 2nd party billing company Paramount Acceptance after being told they were who I needed to talk to to cancel telling them they no longer had permission to draw money from my account and they straight told me they were going to anyways. This company is beyond discussing in its predatory practices. DO NOT JOIN!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!! read more

I was trying out the Spanish Fork gym and when I was parked in the parking lot someone decided to back all the way down the side of my "new" truck without leaving a note or anything. All VASA could say was "we don't have security cameras so we can't help you." Thank you to whomever did that, as it cost $2200 to fix it, $500 out of our pocket. To VASA, get cameras so that your customers and potential customers feel safe. read more

I go here when I have to, but if I have a choice I don't choose this gym. The place is way to crowded, stinks, and most of the equipment seems to be 2nd hand and old. Parking is a nightmare too. I have used a PT from here though, and they were good to work with! BUT, in one year I had 5 different trainers. The turnover for their trainers seems a bit high. read more

If you think the change from Gold's did this organization any good, you're completely wrong. They'd like you to think so, but they still do shady billing practices. They sneak in fees and hope you won't notice. They tell you one thing to your face and then do completely different with billing. They will keep telling you that "you agreed to this in the contract", when I asked to see the contract they gave me an electronically generated contract with my initials and signature typed by way of computer font. The first time I had seen the contract was when there was a dispute. Holy crap, the horror days of Gold's are quickly coming back, it's very scary they have my credit card number and personal information, I wish I could take it back! This is my Gym - I go here every morning. I go because it's the only gym in town not because it's good. It stinks - the equipment is old dirty and falling apart. it's dirty - if you were to walk through there in a pair a white socks I guarantee they would be BLACK It's crowded - it's hard to find a place to park and you end up waiting for equipment a lot The roof leaks - when it rains they have wet spots and buckets all over the place it's small - there are other Vasa facilities in pretty much every town in Utah. They are all bigger better nicer and newer than the one in spanish fork. the only one that can come close to comparing in total crappy suckyness is maybe the 9th east gym on provo. Have I mentioned how bad it stinks in there? You know when you see those gritty old boxing gyms in the rocky movies and you imagine how bad they smell with decades of built up sweat, BO and morning breath? well thats how this gym smells. Every year I have a special and unexpected bill on my credit card for "facility improvement fees" (wait what is my monthly fee for if this is some kind of coo op) I have been going here for 10 years and NOTHING has improved. They must be saving all that money for something super nice. Can't wait to find out what it is. There is this one elliptical machine that I started using because it was always open (did I mention how crowded it is?) the reason it's always open is because every rotation it make this crazy banging sound and the TV on it is totally broken. I have been using that same elliptical every morning for almost 5 years and NOTHING has changed. TV still broken, crazy banging sound still loud and annoying. I just turn my headphones up, plug my nose (did I mention how bad this place smells) and thank my lucky stars that nobody else was desperate enough to use the broken machine. read more

Was home visiting for the summer and needed to get my gym workouts in. Id been to this gym before when it was under Gold's and it wasn't great then but its really gone downhill since. I couldn't have gotten my workout done quicker so I could get out. Gym was overall dirty, crowded, locker rooms smelled bad, and floor space was too crowded with useless equipment. Needs better free weight areas and less machines. I Chose to drive 20min to another location to get my workouts in the rest of summer. read more
