This is an update to a review I left here just over 2 years ago... I'm a VASA member once again! :D I have only patronized the North Orem location so far, so that's what this review will cover The place where I work canceled their fitness classes, and I didn't want to work out without other people around me, so I rejoined. This time, however, I joined as a "Studio" member, not just a "basic" member; I'm so glad I did! Since joining I have attended 8 Studio Red classes and a Studio Flow (Deep Stretch) class; they have been very well conducted. Dax, Audra, Chelsea, and Julio have been fantastic! The facility is clean and well taken care of. The equipment I have used has been in full operational order. The check-in process is fast (scan your barcode), and scheduling the Studio Red and Studio Flow classes on my phone is simple and straightforward. IF you are considering becoming a member, make sure you understand the ins and outs of the financial aspects of being a member. Read the other comments here and learn from them. Is it uber-complicated? No, but there are processes if you want to make changes. Next, get a "complimentary pass" and use it, see what it's like for you. I would really caution you, however, on basing the decision on 1 visit... see if you can come 2 or 3 times, see if you can attend a Studio Red or Studio Flow class... I don't know that you can, but it can't hurt to ask. If you DO become a member (congratulations!), utilize all the amenities available to you, maximize your membership, get as much out of it as you can. All the best to you in your journey. read more

I been a member of this fitness club for 3 years now, everything was fine until they complicated entrance into pool area..Members will anyway scan their barcodes to get into it so why f*ckin complicate things? Especially for guest members..Really sucks now..If there was an incident that someone who was not a member would get in there then yes, but hell knows..Besides even if you put this here at least make it so it would have a manually done if the thing can't read the code.. read more

Typical big corporate money grab. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! I left another gym because they cut back the spin classes I attended for 10 years, which is what I told Vasa when I joined two months ago. Vasa had four spin classes that worked with my schedule, and after only 6 weeks, they removed two of the four classes. Absolutely disappointed, I have spent the last two weeks trying to cancel. They keep changing their story and now I'm left with over $200 in cancelation fees for something that had nothing to do with me. What a joke of a company. I did the 815 spin class at north Orem with Anita. Her energy and Her organization with her music was on point. She kept the conversation to be motivating and encouraging people to push harder. She walked around to make sure everybody was spinning correctly, safety and body mechanics and even a little accountability to push yourself as she Walked around. Even though they claim to have no charge. If you have your account frozen and just end up canceling, you will still have to pay a fee. Vasa is a pyramid scheme just like everything else in Utah. I would give this 0/10 if I could. I literally had the worst experience with vasa of my whole my life. I got a new card and updated my billing information, BUT no one told me that I had to call or go in to update billing for my yearly fee. I was charged monthly for the last three years and upon trying to cancel was told that I owed $300 in yearly fees before I could cancel. I called to ask why since they had my payment on file they couldn't just take it each year because $300 upfront is insane and they stated that it was my responsibility to go in to a vasa and update it or call. How will I have known when no one ever told me that? They refused to forgive any of it and charged me "delinquent"fees. The customer service is garbage. Dont go here unless you want to be over charged and never be able to cancel your contract with them. 0/10 worst customer service experience ever. read more

Beware the hidden fees. I put my account on hold over the late summer and fall because I get out to hike/bike rather than workout in the gym, but it's $10 just to pause your account, and the pause only lasts 90 days before they resume charging you, even if you aren't using their facilities. (Recent policy change, because you used to be able to pause your account in perpetuity. I rejoined in 2018, and used to teach Group Fitness for years prior when they were Gold's Gym.) To make matters worse, they charge an extra $77 once a year, every year, for "maintenance fees," in addition to what you're paying per month. (I looked up this charge from 4 years ago, which used increased from $60, and I'm guessing will increase with ease year forward. Why can't they just be honest and add that $6.50 extra a month to the advertised monthly price?) You have to pay to freeze, you have to pay to close out. The whole thing is ridiculous. Don't fall for the billboard prices. It's a scam. You're better off working out at home, or at a community center. The equipment and classes are nice, but the lack of transparency/policy changes is what tanks it for me. read more

Staff was so nice, and everything was very clean. They were the only place open on a Sunday in Orem that I could use a hot tub. They have lots of equipment. And child care. No hair ties, lol. My only criticisms are purely aesthetics, one whoever did the taping one seams on their drywall did a terrible job(I only noticed because I had lots of time lounging in the hot tub) the curtains in the showers don't reach all the way across so there's no real way to close them properly. My last critique beggars can't be choosers, all of the jets in the huge hot tub were at the exact same level, there's no way to get higher than lumbar. read more

I have never had such a poor experience with a company. Most companies are going above and beyond to take care of customers during this pandemic. I have a compromised immune system and can't go to the gym. They refuse to work with me on freezing or canceling the account without charging me. They continue to charge me to freeze my account and do not enforce any health guidelines to keep their patrons safe. They didn't ask permission to charge my account to freeze it as well as charged my wife for the monthly membership dues right before charging us again to freeze it. read more

Over booked, over billed, renewed without my permission after contracting for 6 months, run down and equipment machines generally work. When you go to cancel you get nothing but a machine. They make it nearly impossible to cancel. the manager won't even buy a basketball, they are standard at all the other clubs. Tried to cancel and am being told they need 30 days notice to halt any charges. Complete BS and Unethical Sleazy business practices. Be warned they will try to squeeze every last drop out of you when you want to cancel. Agent on the phone was very unprofessional and completely unhelpful, talked over me, was argumentative, and ultimately hung up on me and would not let me speak to any other persons when i asked for management. Could easily be a 4 star gym but ownership obviously puts zero effort into this place. They make zero effort in replacing old, used up equipment. The numbers on most of the cables are worn off which would be extremely easy to fix. The mens bathroom is disgusting. They don't offer any tissues, so all the guys that need to blow their nose have to go into a bathroom stall and rip off some toilet paper. This causes there to be wads of toilet paper left inside the toilet and all over the stalls. They also don't offer any toilet seat paper that you place on top of the seat so many people will rip off lots of toilet paper to place on top of the seat. Whoever designed the bathroom obviously didn't put any effort in. Again, this could easily be a 4 star gym if ownership cared at all to read some reviews or do some simple customer research. No parking. Ever. Very crowded. You have to wait to get on a machine. They advertise $10/month but then they hit you with a $50+ "service fee." If you try to cancel they bill you for another full month of service plus over $50 additional fee. Very deceptive billing practices. read more

Staff is way nice and attentive. Gym is fairly clean and all new equipment. It's pretty nice and impressive. Only reason giving three stars is how insanely busy this location is. Parking lot was completely full, I was so shocked. You can barely get any equipment and some people love to claim territory on multiple machines at a time. Not worth it, but again, great staff. Maybe if they could build another location, Utah county loves their gyms. read more

Dishonest staff and company. I had signed up at the Provo location. I did the mid-level package so I could access all locations. The reason I did that was because I had just moved to Utah and was in a temporary living situation and my job was going to be moving offices from Provo to Orem and the date was uncertain. Within a few days of enrolling my office announced it was moving to Orem the following week and I secured an apartment in Orem. About 10 days after I enrolled I went into this Orem location and stated I wanted to change my membership to the lower single location membership for Orem to be my location. They were going to make me pay a $25 fee to change my membership. I had just signed up a week and a half ago! That is some GREEDY nonsense. As it was I was going to have to pay their $55 required annual fee the next month. Since that was an absurdly stupid policy I told the guy I wanted to cancel my membership completely. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the shady punk that I was dealing with. ATTN MANAGEMENT this guy tried to rip me off. It was the guy working 4/28 at about 5:30pm at the front desk, he had tan skin and short brown hair. I told him I wanted to cancel my membership. I asked him if I would get an email verifying my cancellation. I asked him 3-4 times if everything was cancelled. He said yes every time. As I was driving home I received a WELCOME EMAIL from Vasa. Instead of cancelling my account, he tried some shady business to get himself some commissions. The next day 4/29 I called Vasa Membership Services and spoke to Savanah S (Note: 535040). She verified that crook in Orem did not cancel my account. She cancelled my account. However, she informed me that I had to give one month notice to cancel plus the $25 cancellation fee. The person who set up my account did not tell me that. I asked him very specifically what all is involved with cancelling my membership because I knew my home/work situation was uncertain. He did not tell me about the 1 month notice for cancelling. TO RECAP I CANCELLED MY MEMBERSHIP WITHIN 10 DAYS AND WAS FORCED TO PAY TWO FULL MONTHS PLUS $25 CANCELLATION. 10 DAYS OF VASA MEMBERSHIP COST ME ALMOST $100. These people are greedy and dishonest. Joined a few days before CoVid. Decided not to be a member. Called and cancelled, but still got billed. Tried to cancel a second time, got the run around, but said it was cancelled. Got more bills. To date (over 1 year later) I have settled my bill (250+) once again. I never worked out once in any Vasa facility. Their gyms may be good. But management is horrible. I have heard from others who have tried to quit but continue to be billed. Be careful signing up with them. read more

If you live in Lindon you should join this gym. Excellent location. Best gym near Lindon. This gym so much better than Provo 24 fitness. If you live in Lindon I know of no closer gym. Very best gym for Lindon and North Orem. Vasa fitness would do really well if they had a brand new gym in Sugarhouse. Sugarhouse 24 fitness was super busy . In the future consider a gym around 2100 South in Sugarhouse . Your gym I went when first opened. Excellent Kaysville gym. Lots of people went to Sugarhouse 24 fitness for the pool and sauna and hot tub . Please next Vasa you open. Please be in Sugarhouse. The North Orem Vasa I used to go to all the time when it was a grocery store. Lindon I think really needed a gym. Now Lindon has a gym close. The only 24 fitness that had tons of business was in Sugarhouse. Please look into taking all of that swimming and hot tub business in Sugarhouse. Vasa fitness has the most location's in Utah County. Provo 24 fitness had old equipment. Hope this review helps. If you live in Lindon join this gym. If you live in Kaysville join their Kaysville gym. Their Ogden gym is excellent also. Going to be open and honest. My wife and I tried to freeze our account during this whole pandemic situation... When we call to freeze our membership the person tells me they will still continue to charge us even thought we won't be using their facility. I was shocked that since they had a problem freezing our account for some apparent reason... they are going to continue rip people off. Something is really off with this company.
