Since it was a three day celebration I had to buy shoes for three different dresses. Long story short, I found two pairs of dressy sandals and shoes in the clearance area. I've always had problems with shoes and figured if I would take flats with me if I couldn't wear them all night. All three pairs were super comfortable and I can't wait to wear them again. The two pairs I bought the one day were normally $80 each, with discounts and coupons I paid around $72 for both pairs! The first pair I bought was $30 or so. The employees there were wonderful and real patient as I looked for email with discount codes.

Jahnavi helped us, and it was so different from my own first time in the store. My mom had to go totally barefoot (gross) and then put on store supplied socks? Gross. Then pressure was applied for my mom to buy these store supplies socks that have been on other people's feet for $9? Gross. Then we were told that men's wide shoes and women's wide shoes are the same, but the men's wide were too wide. Jahnavi seemed to not believe this statement from my mom. I don't know why my mom wasn't fitted in women's Hokas at all, there was more pressure applied for my mom to buy the exact shoes that I have, which she didn't want. Then there was pressure to upsell her on insoles when she had to have shoes special ordered. The whole thing was just weird. My mom is old. It feels like a pushy salesperson was taking advantage of her. I told my mom to go in the evenings when the nice, younger guys are working because they don't bully people.

When I got home and took the box out of the bag I noticed the box was open and dirty. The watch fell out and the plastic that was supposed to be holding it fell out as well. The box inside had multiple coffee and dirt stains and the wrist band on both sides were dirty. I drove back to the store and told customer service about it. The store associate there said she was the one who boxed it. She noticed the box was open, but thought it was returned without being used. I'm confused...if an item has been opened and then returned, shouldn't it be considered used? I don't understand how the dirt on the box and the obvious dirt on the wrist band was missed. Anyway they had one more of the color I wanted and I didn't have a problem exchanging it for a new one.

I got ABSOLUTELY stunned TODAY at Salvation Army. i have BEEN DONATING to Goodwill heavily each…read moreand every year for over 40 years and a great portion of my things were NEW (still tagged) or very gently used since my parents taught me to take care of all my things. This year after having dug deep into how they use their monies and how they handle putting donations on the shelves!!!! I decided they would NEVER ever get one more item from me so today i boxed up 4-5 large boxes along with with some loose pillows and things and drove to the Salvation Army Thrift store in Strongsville. I had visited this site 4-5 weeks ago to see how THEY operate, the kinds of things they have on their shelves and how knowledgeable and helpful employees were. Much to my chagrin today, i walked in the rear entry door with my first box where no one greeted me nor were there more than 1-2 folks within earshot for me to call out to. The ENTIRE back room where their donated goods was overloaded and in a SHAMELESS shambles. I saw no one with any sense of urgency. I continued with the rest of my boxes and items placing them where i thought they would fit, not FALL OVER and left in a huff. There were 'prepared receipts' on clipboards for anyone to fill in what they want for IRS donations. Big Brother is apparently not watching. The retail store is scantily stocked when they could be loading up their shelves and making real some money but no, disinterested folks are lolling around talking to each other about last evenings tv show. Apparently, nobody has any needs in the poorer sections of Cleveland Ohio since nobody HERE had any interest in their jobs nor helping the less fortunate. I could run rings around the folks in this store, organize it, load up the retail store and help others. I worked for an international non profit for almost 20 years so i know how it gets done. I will never return to this store or any other Salvation Army (bellringers included) nor Goodwill. I will seek out a more needy organization who uses, appreciates and cares about donations.
