When he answered he was very rude and aggressive. I asked if he did outdoor work and he laughed and said no just indoor. When I asked if he could recommend some one who does outdoor electrical he interrupted me and said who is this your interrupting me. At that time I was fed up with the rudeness and said oh I'm sorry I was trying to give you business but if you don't want it that's fine. Then he hung up! Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I called Van to schedule an appointment and he agreed to 6 p.m. Thursday. I left work early to be able to meet him, but he never showed up. I called him and he said he "dropped the ball." Against my better judgment, I agreed to have him come two days later. Well, he failed to show up again. I called, but this time he didn't answer the phone. Instead, I left a voice mail. BUT HE NEVER CALLED BACK. Never apologized. NOTHING. I wound up using another small firm that came when they said they would and did the work for much less than what Van quoted me. This review is based on the fact that he never showed up. I spoke with him on Thursday 11/4/15 and he said he could not come that day, but could on Friday. I told him our store was open 8am-5pm and he could come by any time during those hours. We had an ancient electric water heater timer with some melted components, so we were taking cold showers for a few days. We searched all over for anyone who could fix it as soon as possible. We gave Van's Electric a call to get a quote and a time frame on when they could help us replace the timer. They picked up promptly and gave us a reasonable quote, but when they said they could stop by and fix it today, there was no way we could say no. They bought the right replacement parts and came when they told us they would, ave 45 minutes later, we had hot water running in our house again! I needed an electrician ASAP. I was having problems with my electricity and was afraid that it might a cause a fire. I called Van's late in the afternoon and spoke to Van himself. It was quitting time but two of his guys lived close to my home and would stop by on their way home, WOW. When they got here they found the problem and assured me it could wait till the next day to be fixed. True to their word they came back the next morning and made the repairs. Van's Electric cares about their customers. They were efficient, very professional and the cost for the repair was reasonable. I am extremely satisfied with their services. Van's business ethics could use some improvement and I'm glad I canceled a Solar AC installation with him. I cannot comment on his skill or knowledge but very disappointed with his dependability and trust. Return calls and scheduled visits were spotty and 2 1/2 months later I finally received my deposit refund. He also kept $200 for the contract cancellation for invoicing and credit card processing fee. The lowest part of his credibility occurred when he replied to my email after I inquired about the refund he was going to mail. It was never mailed and I finally met him in person to collect and he blamed his secretary for having other priorities. Honesty and integrity is not a strength and for the sake of his workers and the industry hopefully he'll improve on it. read more

Our tenant called to report that the power was going on an off. The electrician who we called went over and 'fixed' the problem. The next day it was worse. It was Saturday and we couldn't get hold of that electrician to go back and check it out. We made several calls to find another electrician and the only one who answered his phone was Van. I'd received referrals to another electrician, but wasn't impressed with with what I could find out about them online. So I turned to Yelp! to search for other options. Van's Electric jumped out at me with his many recent positive reviews and the fact that he was nearby. So I called, hoping that I'd be able to set up an appointment to check out my sparking wires in the not too distant future. It was a pleasant surprise to not only have Van answer my call right away, but to have him offer to stop by within an hour. I was actually on my way out to a previous commitment, but Van worked with me and I was able to have him come out at a mutually convenient time. When he did so, he immediately identified the problem and offered a repair plan with a very fair price. A couple of days later his crew came by as scheduled and completed the repair quickly and professionally. And when it was noticed a couple of days later that an attached security light that was not working, Van stopped by himself to troubleshoot.
