My partner and I see Dr. Bryson Langel at Van Quantham, and he is by far the best chiropractor I've ever seen.
First of all, he works with the goal of getting you to a place in your health where you won't need to see him, besides for check-ups. He starts with a thorough set of scans and low-power x-rays, and does not start adjusting until a second appointment (included in the introduction package) when he can show you what's happening in your body and why he's going to make the adjustments he's making.
However, you hardly know that he's making adjustments, because he does them so gently and using a set of small "activator" devices. Then he tests your nerve response by gently moving your feet, maybe adjusts a bit more, checks your feet again, and voila! No cracking, no twisting, no shoving and popping, no scary grips and pain.
His understanding of the body is so extensive and respectful that he doesn't need any of the "crack your bones" chiropractic techniques. And his techniques - he uses mostly Blair, he told me, but has studied an impressive array of them - are actually keeping my spine in good order.
I saw other chiropractors in the past on a regular basis, for years, and they could never tell me why I wasn't getting better. They blamed it on bicycling and my work as a massage therapist, but I could tell that they just didn't know. This time I won't need constant chiropractic care, because I'm getting better and better.
I say this as a massage/cranio-sacral therapist with critical standards about health care quality, especially the knowledge and consideration a practitioner puts into taking care of their patients. I referred my counselor to him, who loved him and referred her clients. She said one came back and told her, "I think he's a genius - but he doesn't know it." We laughed so hard at that, because we were both like, "Dr. Langel? Totally. TOTALLY." He's very modest, and focused much more on the work he offers than on himself. But the man is a genius at what he does. read more
