I visited Vanity By The Sea recently. The store has a large inventory of sunglasses in all the top designer brands. Serina helped me choose Maui Jim Alenuihaha in Blue Black Stripe. She also provided me with a Maui Jim trucker hat with my purchase. Vanity By The Sea is a must visit when in Capitola. Thank you Serina for your help and expertise! read more

We always come here when we need glasses. The owner is so awesome and so helpful everytime! She either has a crazy good memory or is just the sweetest person who makes you feel like you're best friends. Great deals on glasses. Super responsive. We usually buy 2 pairs a year from her! Can not reccomend her enough. Oh and her after sales service is the best. She's currently helping me right now get new lenses for Maui Jim's and she's just so pleasant to work with. When you need glasses she's "the guy" read more

I'm very pleased with the service and selection at this sunglass shop. Much better quality than a larger retail store, which makes it much easier to find the right pair of high-end sunglasses. Two thumbs up!! read more

I came in wanting a pair of glasses for everyday wear, good quality something that won't break easily. The owner was sooo nice and beyond helpful. She let me know it's her store and she works everyday that's hustle!! We love to see a strong independent woman I will definitely bring my business back and recommend to everyone I know. She made me feel so confident and beautiful from the beginning to end of our transaction, overall my first but not last experience here! Left with the Pradas and I'm OBSESSED!! 100/10 read more

This is an excellent shop with a superb selection of the latest sunglasses styles. They have the stylish brands I love, YSL, Miu Miu, Prada, Tom Ford, and brands my husband loves, such as Ray-Ban and Costa. He struggles to find glasses that fit him (he's a 6'4 giant with a large skull), and the staff is so approachable and knowledgeable that they helped him find the perfect pair of sunglasses. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I will visit again next time I am in capitola. read more

A few weeks ago I purchased a gorgeous pair of Swarovski sunglasses for myself at this fantastic Capitola Village boutique. The customer service I received from the owner was excellent. She is very knowledgeable about her products and is quite patient with the decision making process. I had also purchased some Ray Bans there for my surfer husband for Christmas and he wanted a pair of Maui Jim's instead and the owner was more than accommodating. I will only purchase sunglasses at this boutique from here forward. read more

This upscale sunglass shop gives you shopping in Rome vibes! The selection is amazing! I bought a pair of Micheal Kors sunglasses that were a bold men's tortoiseshell design. I love that they have contemporary designers as well as high end. From Ray Bans, Maui Jims to Prada and Gucci. Love this store. The owner and sales help are incredibly knowledgeable. I'll be back there soon. read more

This shop is a gem! They have a beautiful selection of sunglasses. The customer service is excellent. I'm thrilled with the glasses I purchased (which was the first pair recommended by the sales associate). When I'm ready to purchase another pair of sunglasses, this business will be my first (and only) stop! read more

I really needed a nice pair of sunglasses after my Ray ban predators that I absolutely loved kicked the bucket yesterday, after owning them for nearly six years. The glasses were so well-worn that all of the lettering on the outside and inside had worn off....so I stopped here to check it out with the intend to buy. Vanity by the sea has a huge selection and we'll designed store. You can try on anything, as long as you don't put them back instead give them to an employee (covid guidelines) you'll be staring at yourself in mirrors all day, but I eventually found a pair of Ray- ban Warfare classic. By the way - yes, this place is expensive. But you're not going into buying a pair of ray-bans to buy a cheap pair of sunglasses, it's an investment and they have longevity. Recommend for anyone looking to purchase a nice pair of Ray-ban sunglasses or sunglasses in general. The great service here is a bonus too! I would definitely return here again, should I ever need a pair of sunglasses - thank you! read more

Twice I've bought sunglasses from this store. They really know their products and offered expert guidance to make sure the sunglasses would perfectly suit my needs. I wound up with Maui Jim's World Cup glasses and liked them so much, I went back and bought a second pair for the car just today. After my first purchase I checked online and discovered I actually paid a few bucks LESS than the same glasses on Amazon. I actually saved money and supported local business. Win win! read more

Classy Sunglasses Spot! Serena is a super star. So very helpful. We needed special parts ordered for Two pairs of sunglasses. Serena spent time with us locating these tiny rare parts abroad (EU), ordered them and fitted them a few weeks later after alerting us to their arrival. Thank you Serena Vanity By The Sea has a spectacular range of high end brands to some more approachable brands for everyone. Love my new sunglasses! The polarized lenses really made my eyes feel sooooo gooood while at the ocean. Also found out why my club masters weren't fitting properly so I was able to fix them and they fit way better! Great customer service, wasn't forceful or pushy. Just helpful. Great place to buy a good looking $15 pair as well if you just need something to get by or are on a budget. (Not polarized) read more

My wife and I were in Capitola for our annual late fall weekly stay. Kathy needed new sunglasses and I had purchased a pair of Maui Jims last year at this time. With Mindy's expert direction, Kathy purchased a pair of Persol glasses that were just right for her. After some discussion of everyday needs, we also purchased a pair of IZIPIZI readers for her. Both have been great additions for her. Thank you Mindy for your help, direction and expertise. See you next year. Kathy and Randy G. read more

A+ experience here today. Scott the owner was incredibly helpful in finding a replacement for my damaged sunglasses. He guided me through trying on about a dozen options, with focus and expertise. We found the clear winner, and I'm loving my new wayfarers. Highly recommended, you won't find this kind of personal attention and knowledge at other shops. read more

My wife and I have purchased several pair of both sunglasses and reading glasses at Vanity By The Sea, and have never been anything other than completely satisfied in the service, selection, price and product knowledge of Serena, the customer-oriented owner par excellence. Time and again we have been impressed with the wide range of sunglasses that Serena has for her customers to choose from, but of equal importance is her knowledge of the many different brands of sunglasses that she carries, coupled with her good-humored honesty in describing each pair's qualities and willingness to make the purchase process both fun and enjoyable. In summary, Vanity ByThe Sea Sunglasses offers prospective customers just about everything they would want in a specialty store of this kind. Mario Beltramo read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Shop owner was rude and condescending towards me while just looking at selections, as if she did not want my business. When I asked to see a pair that was on the wall, I received a rude "Can you wait?" while they were not preoccupied. When she finally got around to helping me, they seemed uninterested and stated that I was rude and that the pair I had selected seemed out of my price range. A vendor who prioritizes their personal interests over customers, as well as demeaning people interested in their products should not receive business. It is especially inappropriate to assume a customers price range or value. read more

I recently purchased a pair of beautiful danish design sunglasses. Unfortunatelly, they fell out of the pretty loose sleeve that came with and got scratched badly - Seraina contacted the company for me and they replaced the glasses for me! Big thanks to Seraina for making such an effort for me. It's been my third purchase in this store and I want to say that I enjoy their friendly and professional service and interesting collection of sunglass companies. They carry some more established brands and always some lesser known European brands as well. Don't hesitate to shop there, Im sure you will find some interesting shaped glasses and excellent customer service! read more

Stopped in today while walking around Capitola, what a wonderful store. Amazing collection of sunglasses. Huge selection of Maui Jim and Ray Ban especially. The store is owned by an incredibly nice lady and she is local. She really listens to what you are looking for in a pair of shades and her suggestions were spot on. Great service and extremely knowledgeable staff are what sets local businesses apart, and Vanity By The Sea really delivers. Choosing sunglasses has always been hard for me, but since I enjoy being outside it's important that I protect my eyes, so..... I went to Vanity By the Sea and wasn't sure exactly what I wanted, so I steeled myself to the task of trying on dozens of potential options. Before I could get started I was greeted by a gentleman named Scott, who I later found out was the owner. Scott, sized me up for a few seconds and asked several questions about me and my style preferences, and then went and pulled just a handful of glasses for me to try (based on the size of my head and shape of my face he said). At first I was skeptical, but literally every pair he had chosen fit comfortably and looked great. I ended up with a sweet pair of Maui Jim glasses at a fair price and couldn't be happier. Normally buying sunglasses is a huge pain, but with expert guidance it was really a great experience. I'd recommend this store to anyone who is looking for quality glasses and values amazing customer service and knowledge of the products. read more

Thank you Scott for not just selling me sunglasses but educating me on them! I took my son here today for a new pair of sun glasses, and am thrilled with the excellent customer service we received from Sarena (I *think* this is her name, hard to tell with mask on!) . She gave us plenty of space to look around on our own;. The store was immaculate and everything touched was quickly cleaned for the next customer. when my son needed some guidance we received her expert knowledge and friendly service! Scott, the new owner, is great! I had purchased and shattered the lens of a pair of Ray Ban Wayfarers from Amazon. After attempting to send the glasses into the Luxottica Repair Department, I emailed Scott asking if they assist with repairs (they do) and he promptly responded. He helped me identify the Amazon glasses as imitations, and select a pair that were even better suited for me (with a discount for my troubles). Lessons learned: Be wary of Internet sales and shop local for honest and attentive customer service! Oh, and don't sit on your sunglasses. Thanks, Scott! read more

I really like this place for sunglasses. Vo is the owner and he worked hard to get me the right glasses at the best value. I was shocked that my current Ray Ban sunglasses were not polarized as I thought everything I got from Costco were with the highest quality. Vo offered a similar pair for a similar price but his glasses were better than the ones I got from Costco a few years ago. I needed new glasses anyway so these were perfect for me and even fit better than my Costco glasses. read more

This place has the best customer service! Justyna & Bo, the owners are very knowledgable and have the best recommendations for your face size and shape! I wanted RayBan Aviator sunglasses but the issue was they hurt behind my ears since the frames are heavy, they let me wear the Maui Jim Baby Beach outside the store while I walked around the shops to ensure their comfort! I loved them but at the time couldn't afford them, I called back 9 months later and purchased them over the phone and they were shipped free, also gave me a nice discount compared to all other mall sunglasses stores! My son came back to buy the Versace sunglasses and loves them too! read more

Stopped in to see the new sunglass selections. We were met with a smile and a very friendly salesperson. She was attentive to finding out what we might be looking for. Incredible customer service! I bought my favorite pair of orange RayBan Aviator's from this store 2 years ago. I've been wanting to get the lenses replaced for 6 months now, because I got some scratches on them. Today I happened to be visiting Capitola again, and just popped by to ask how much it would cost to replace the lenses and have them tighten the frame a little. I remember being especially impressed by their attentiveness and customer service 2 years ago, but I was really pleased today! Bo told me I could pay for the lenses today, and he would order them from Italy, expecting a 2 week wait, then he would have to send them to me in Oakland. Obviously that is a long wait for me, so he decided to give me lenses from the pair he had in store, and wait for the new lenses himself, rather than have me wait! Thanks Bo for great customer service! I now have new, shiny orange RayBan's and can continue to get tons of compliments for how they well they go with my hair and complexion! read more

Maui Jim's website said Vanity by the Sea was an authorized dealer and I needed more of a selection of frames then my optometrist offered. When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised with the service and selection on that first visit. My prescription recently changed so I went back and purchased another pair. Bo and Justyna were helpful and candid of what looked good on me, and they were right! (I have a big nose and I needed something that didn't accentuate it). They truly know their business. I received expert, friendly, fast and easy service. I would highly recommend you try them out next time you need a new pair for yourself. I know I'll never go anywhere else again. They are in a great location too, so have a walk around the village when you go or relax by the beach. read more

The owners - both husband and wife are awesome. I had planned to simply try on glasses there and go online to find them cheaper elsewhere.
