This is an excellent shop with a superb selection of the latest sunglasses styles. They have the stylish brands I love, YSL, Miu Miu, Prada, Tom Ford, and brands my husband loves, such as Ray-Ban and Costa. He struggles to find glasses that fit him (he's a 6'4 giant with a large skull), and the staff is so approachable and knowledgeable that they helped him find the perfect pair of sunglasses. I really needed a nice pair of sunglasses after my Ray ban predators that I absolutely loved kicked the bucket yesterday, after owning them for nearly six years. The glasses were so well-worn that all of the lettering on the outside and inside had worn off....so I stopped here to check it out with the intend to buy. Vanity by the sea has a huge selection and we'll designed store. You can try on anything, as long as you don't put them back instead give them to an employee (covid guidelines) you'll be staring at yourself in mirrors all day, but I eventually found a pair of Ray- ban Warfare classic. By the way - yes, this place is expensive. But you're not going into buying a pair of ray-bans to buy a cheap pair of sunglasses, it's an investment and they have longevity. Recommend for anyone looking to purchase a nice pair of Ray-ban sunglasses or sunglasses in general. The great service here is a bonus too! When I asked to see a pair that was on the wall, I received a rude "Can you wait?" while they were not preoccupied. When she finally got around to helping me, they seemed uninterested and stated that I was rude and that the pair I had selected seemed out of my price range. A vendor who prioritizes their personal interests over customers, as well as demeaning people interested in their products should not receive business. Scott, sized me up for a few seconds and asked several questions about me and my style preferences, and then went and pulled just a handful of glasses for me to try (based on the size of my head and shape of my face he said). At first I was skeptical, but literally every pair he had chosen fit comfortably and looked great. I ended up with a sweet pair of Maui Jim glasses at a fair price and couldn't be happier. After attempting to send the glasses into the Luxottica Repair Department, I emailed Scott asking if they assist with repairs (they do) and he promptly responded. He helped me identify the Amazon glasses as imitations, and select a pair that were even better suited for me (with a discount for my troubles). I really like this place for sunglasses. Vo is the owner and he worked hard to get me the right glasses at the best value. I was shocked that my current Ray Ban sunglasses were not polarized as I thought everything I got from Costco were with the highest quality. Vo offered a similar pair for a similar price but his glasses were better than the ones I got from Costco a few years ago. I wanted RayBan Aviator sunglasses but the issue was they hurt behind my ears since the frames are heavy, they let me wear the Maui Jim Baby Beach outside the store while I walked around the shops to ensure their comfort! I loved them but at the time couldn't afford them, I called back 9 months later and purchased them over the phone and they were shipped free, also gave me a nice discount compared to all other mall sunglasses stores! Incredible customer service! I bought my favorite pair of orange RayBan Aviator's from this store 2 years ago. I've been wanting to get the lenses replaced for 6 months now, because I got some scratches on them. Today I happened to be visiting Capitola again, and just popped by to ask how much it would cost to replace the lenses and have them tighten the frame a little. I remember being especially impressed by their attentiveness and customer service 2 years ago, but I was really pleased today! Bo told me I could pay for the lenses today, and he would order them from Italy, expecting a 2 week wait, then he would have to send them to me in Oakland. Obviously that is a long wait for me, so he decided to give me lenses from the pair he had in store, and wait for the new lenses himself, rather than have me wait! Thanks Bo for great customer service! I now have new, shiny orange RayBan's and can continue to get tons of compliments for how they well they go with my hair and complexion! read more
