Surgical procedures available range from: Ophthalmology (including mine), Podiatry (including mine), Ear/Nose/Throat (ENT) and Gastroenterology. My wife previously had two procedures here and today mine was performed without any hick-ups. The wait, short. The pre-op prep a breeze, short, not rushed, and very comforting. The surgery, from what I can remember, top notch without a worry in the world. Recovery, super easy, like nothing happened, graham crackers devoured and ginger ale guzzled. Depending on your procedure you can be in and out in 2-4 hours; mine roughly a 3 hour tour. Make sure your Chauffeur delivers and picks-up. Also, do not hesitate asking for an official prescription for your favorite sweet; I hit the jack pot ICE CREAM!

Do not be surprised when you arrive and the door to the facility says they're open at 7am because it's a lie. They start getting in right at 6 and let you into the comfortable waiting room. The woman at the front desk was super sweet to me and others, including a bit of a Karen, with whom she dealt with kindly and swiftly. Once I got behind the surgical doors it was like a surgery factory in the best way. Immediately I had a couple of people tending to me in terms of getting me info, giving me info, giving me anesthesia (with great explanations of everything they were going to do to me). I then spotted my orthopedic surgeon, who also gave me great expectations on what to expect. Next thing you know it's 11am, I'm awake back in the same recovery space and feeling good with some saltines and ginger ale. I was swiftly wheelchaired to my wife, waiting with the car at the front door of the facility. Easy peasy. The facility called me the following day to check up on me and remind me of my Dr.'s orders. My doc is not into prescribing hard hitting, addictive opiates so I left with only an RX for strong ibuprofren. The facility reminded me when they called that I can also take Tylenol in between ibuprofren doses, if I needed. I have to have surgery on my other foot either later this year or next and I will definitely use the same Surgeon (Dr. Rode of WH Podiatry) and Bloomfield Ambulatory Surgery Center. Top notch.

However, when you need to go to one - it's good to know there are physician's like Dr. Steven Selden, an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine, who are willing and able to put you back together and keep you moving forward. As an athlete himself, he knows that injuries however big or small can be earth shattering to his patients - whether they are sports enthusiasts or not. I have been seeking treatment with him for several years for various ailments - from several bouts of tendinitis to a more recent stress injury - and he has always been very caring and compassionate - answering all of my questions and concerns and taking the time to make sure I understate my diagnosis and treatment options. I have never felt rushed and always feel that I have received a thorough examination. Additionally, the staff at Orthopedic Associates of Central Connecticut, where he practices, have always worked at a level of professionalism that has not wavered even on my worse days. They see a variety of pain and suffering daily but have always been pleasant to me and others that I have seen them interact with while waiting to see Dr. Selden. I always hope that when I finally get a clean bill of heath that this will be the last time I will need to see Dr. Selden, but I am appreciative and comforted by the fact that if necessary, he will be there to get me back on the road - literally - to recovery

The place runs smoothly, something I really appreciate. You can even make a coffee while you fill out your paperwork. Dr. Bissell himself is a great doctor. He genuinely listens and considers a patient's input as valuable. I felt like I could explain my symptoms using my own words, and that I wasn't being dismissed as not knowing what I'm talking about. That can be rare these days. I felt like he "got it." Dr. Bissell thinks before he speaks--you can almost see the gears cranking. He explains everything in medical and in layman's terms. I could actually grasp everything he was telling me. We went over everything he was thinking--possibilities, options, outcomes. He is a doctor who truly works with and for his patients. Dr. Bissell is also a talented surgeon. I did end up needing a surgery, and was in excellent hands. I trust him. Dr. B also has a very fine mind. Where other very good doctors missed connecting the "dots" of my symptoms (entirely understandable, and I don't blame them at all), he saw clearly what the underlying problem was...and got me on the right track. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Bissell for all his hard work on my behalf, and I would highly recommend him!

I've come to live with this "groove" of mine and tried micro-needling various lasers and peels yet nothing seemed to help. I wanted to avoid filler because of a past experience with under eye filler gone wrong. I did a little research and came across Dr. Stanislaw's office and his services. I built up the courage to book a consult appointment to see the Dr. with high hopes for a solution. My appointment was booked quickly without issues and upon arrival parking and checking in was quick and easy. The staff was so friendly and welcoming the office was clean and comfortable; in regards to working within pandemic guidelines this office was 100% compliant. Meeting the doctor for the first time I was a little nervous but he was absolutely wonderful and explained everything to me including the anatomy of my face reasons why certain imperfections occur and different solutions that may work while also discussing risks. After a couple of my tears were let out during my visit the doctor explained his plan with me and I was more than pleased. My follow up visit was definitely not a 1-5 minute visit. Dr. Stanislaw took his time and was nothing less than precise. He made me feel comfortable throughout the entire procedure. Once he finished and gave me the mirror to observe my results the joy and happiness of his work was beyond my expectations. If anyone is reading this and can relate or needs cosmetic answers I would absolutely recommend Dr. Stanislaw and his team. They have been the best I have come across in CT and am looking forward towards my Follow up appointment.

I made my appointment ~6 weeks in advance, and it was not easy to get. It was for 11 AM. I arrived at 10:35, just to give myself plenty of time for paperwork. At 10:50, my name was called and I went in with the x-ray tech. She took my x-rays within ten minutes, and then informed me the "doctor moves pretty slowly, so it will be a few minutes before she sees you. But don't worry she spends the same amount of time with you as everyone else". To me, that means 15 minutes or so. After waiting about 20 minutes, the medical assistant comes in to ask me preliminary questions, then she leaves and says she will go inform the doctor of my responses and be right in to see me. 10 minutes pass. 20 minutes pass. It gets to be an hour past my appointment time. Still no doctor. FINALLY, at 12:15, 75 minutes AFTER my appointment time, the doctor rolls in! My appointment was a decent amount of time, the doctor was thorough, not warm and fuzzy, but very knowledgable. I am pleased with her answers and recommendations. She recommended trying product X, a shoe insertion. She explained how to use it. Then went and got one to show me, she said "here we can give this one to you to get you started". I assume that means they are giving it to me, at no cost. Finally at 12:50, when I'm leaving, I start to exit the office, and I head "excuse me! excuse me! That sample is ten dollars." Like whatever, I paid the $10.00 and left. But I would have gone to CVS and gotten the same product for $4.00 had I known... Doctor should have told me of the cost. Overall one of the most annoying experiences of the year. Because the doctor is highly recommended and I did feel she knew what she was talking about, I will see her again. I will try for her Rocky Hill office instead of the larger Hartford office, where they feel they can take 2 1/2 hours of my day (I was using my one hour lunch break.. Ha!) for a 30 minute appointment. Get your scheduling together. Felt good to get that out there!
