I went to see Dr. Balloch, who is a Podiatrist at Advanced Foot & Ankle Specialists in Avon. I've been having some foot trouble recently. I was first impressed with how quickly they gave me an appointment after I called as a first time patient. They offered me to come in just a week after my call, normally a lot of first appointments will be weeks, if not months after calling. I arrived a bit early so I can fill out all the necessary paperwork. I saw Dr. Balloch after a bit of a wait, she quickly told me what my issue is, and how to treat it. She is very knowledgeable on the topic of feet, she was also the first result on my Google search. Dr. Balloch was pleasant and immediately knew what the remedy was for my issue. Unfortunately because this is considered "cosmetic" my insurance didn't cover it. I'm not thrilled about it, but a treatment is a treatment and I needed it. I recommend seeing this doctor if you're having foot trouble. She will know how to help you, she is lovely, informed and so is her staff. read more

i saw Dr Balloch 3 1/2 yrs ago for Plantar Fasciitis. She quickly diagnosed it and gave me cortisone shot, recommended a specific sneaker and gave me the night splint. Saw a month later for follow up. Was still in pain so she immediately recommended that I have surgery. No PT was recommended first before surgery. I thought that was odd and after talking to people who have had this condition and researching myself I decided to cancel my surgery 2 weeks before the surgery date. They charged me $250 because I cancelled. They also reminded me that I signed a form,"credit card on file policy" that authorized them to use my credit card for them to use my card for portion of my bill not covered by insurance. I signed this form at my first consult visit and thought it was pretty standard practice. In summary, I was rushed to surgery without the standard protocol of PT first. Very suspicious and felt like a money grab scam. Changed Dr's, got another opinion, did physical therapy and within 3 mos my plantar fasciitis was cured. Dr. Balloch is smart and professional but in my opinion not ethical. read more

Dr Balloch is extremely knowledgeable and gives excellent quality of care which is an extremely difficult with the restrictions and demands that insurance companies put on providers. Dr Balloch is also knowledgeable when it comes to insurance and she will tell you up front what procedure or item is not going to be covered by insurance so you can make and inform decision whether to have the procedure done and whether or not to get the item that might help you. read more

I gave this office one star because Dr. Butto was absolutely wonderful for the year and a half I saw her. Otherwise they would receive 0 stars. Dr Butto provided significant relief for my ankle problems but unfortunately left the practice last month a week before I had my MRI that she ordered to rule out a plantar fascia tear. The office had told me not to worry and that Dr. Balloch would be taking Dr Butto's patients. First off, I had to keep calling the office to ask them to resend the order since Radiology Associates kept saying they didn't have it and since I couldn't walk they would allow me to schedule with a verbal, but the office needed to call. After numerous calls to Mindy and Allie that finally got done and RA graciously scheduled me for the next day. Of course the MRI revealed two tears as I had suspected. I called the office and they told me they could get me in in 3 weeks. 3 WEEKS! I had been walking on the tears for weeks already and could barely move, and was in immense pain. And they acted like they were doing me a favor. I nicely repeated that the MRI confirmed tearing and that appt was 3 weeks away. They said yes.... then crickets. I asked if the Dr could at least give me a call so I could have some guidance as to what to do while I waited for the appt, or maybe to let me know how to relieve pain into them. I was told "we can't give out any advise over the phone." I asked again, if the Dr can call me. Allie said she will mention it. This practice should be ashamed of themselves! By the way, I did find a new practice that gladly squeezed me in the same day and got me into a boot, and they were appalled when they asked me why I couldn't be seen for 3 weeks with a plantar fascia tear. The Dr also said judging by my exam that I probably would have ended up with with a stress fracture soon if I limped anymore on my foot and didn't get into a boot. I don't know why the Dr could not have taken 2 minutes out of her day and call me if she could not see me for 3 weeks. Pathetic excuse for a "provider." Beware if this money hungry office that does not care about their patients in the least. read more

My husband recently went to see Dr. Butto. She went above and beyond in discussing his situation and making recommendations including a neurologist. He has seen her a few times. She is extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. The staff there is also very personable and friendly. I would highly recommend them to anyone in search of a foot doctor. read more

I saw Dr. Balloch for a nail problem caused by trauma. She tried to sell me a $150 kit for a fungal infection, and a pair of sneakers. She also said I needed to have surgery on one of my toes that I consider unnecesary. The whole experience was very unprofessional. She also charged for and hour and a half visit, when I only saw her for half an hour. read more

I called to set an appointment to see Dr. Balloch, and I spoke to the receptionist, Mindy. I told Mindy that I was injured at work, and I would be using worker's comp. Mindy told me that I should use my personal medical insurance (which I later found out was illegal) instead of worker's comp. Unknowingly, I followed Mindy's advice and used my personal health insurance for my first visit to see Dr. Balloch. Dr. Balloch said that I needed to have surgery and put me on the surgery calendar. I then called Mindy and told her that I wanted to use worker's comp instead of my personal insurance for future visits and for the surgery. Mindy never said that was going to be a problem; however, my attorney then notified me that Mindy called her (my attorney) and told my attorney that Dr Balloch would not be doing the surgery on me anymore since I wanted to use worker's comp instead of my personal medical insurance. It is extremely unfortunate that Mindy was encouraging me to use my personal insurance when I told her I was injured at work, and I would be using work's comp. My attorney notified me that Mindy was encouraging me to do something illegal. It is also unfortunate that Dr. Balloch told my attorney, but never told me that she would not be doing the surgery on me. Total lack of communication. I also paid $300.00 for three Piezo treatments. I was only able to get two of the treatments because Mindy and Barbara (another receptionist) kept changing the days and times of my appointments, and it conflicted with my work schedule. Barbara called me and told me that she had to change the time of my appointment because Dr. Balloch had to do the third Piezo treatment, but Dr. Balloch was coming in later in the morning. However, I knew that was not true because the medical assistant had performed the first two Piezo treatments, and Mindy told me the medical assistant would be doing the third Piezo treatment as well. When I told this to Barbara, she was speechless and said that she did not know what was going on. read more
