Great place to work out. Lots of free weights, never overly crowded. In my opinion the best value in the area.

    How is the parking?

It depends on the day and time of day. We have 10 designated spaces for our members and many people use spaces for other businesses after 5pm fortunately we are not a crowded facility.

I've been a member of Seacoast Kettlebell for a year now and hands down, it has been THE BEST gym…read moreexperience I've had. Here was my situation a year ago - most of my life, up until we had kids, I'd stayed in top shape with a combination of running, biking, climbing. . . etc. However, with 2 young kids under 4, at 39 years old, I found myself very out of shape. I'd tried the P90X and the INSANITY videos (which are great) but I'd never stick with them for more than a couple weeks. I needed exactly what Seacoast Kettlebell offered: - Intense, varied workouts that were 1 hour long and offered throughout the day at times that worked with my family, kid, work schedule - Accountability - coaches and others at the gym to push me when, if I was working out on my own, I would want to slack off. Everyone is friendly and the culture at SKB is to encourage each other. - Wholistic - the workouts, over the course of a week, address every aspect of fitness, from endurance to cardio to core strength and also flexibility. No home routine was giving me that. Keep in mind, though, that Seacoast Kettlebell is a CrossFit-affiliated gym - CrossFit is a philosophy & a method of training called H.I.I.T. used by some of the world's best athletes. At SKB, I have found that I'm training with SERIOUS athletes and I am always pushed to work hard. Some of these fellow SKB'ers are training for marathons/triathlons plus several UNH teams are trained by SKB - that said, there are always serious athletes at each class that really push me so I can make the most of the hour-long session. Some people will find that training at this level is not for them. SKB has a great one-month trial membership so you can give it 30-days to see if you like it.

As a Soul Cycle & Cyclebar lover, I called and asked what type of classes they offered. I spoke with Chance, he was awesome at giving the description & super friendly. He made me want to book a class and he so happens to be an instructor, so my first class was his. Rachel at the front desk was super friendly when you walked in! Chance was my first class and it was so much fun! It was exactly what I was looking for. Amazing energy and music. Second class was Katy, she introduced herself and was so friendly as well. Her class was super fun, great energy & music as well! I was not able to check out the other instructors, but if you are a local, def take a class! I promise you will fall in love with it like I did! Best energy & therapy! Thank you Studio one, for such an amazing experience despite the circumstances of visit. I CAN'T wait to visit my family again, and come back to this studio!

I give ZERO stars to the wellness programs. However I LOVE this gymnaside from that and could not…read moregive them anything less than 5stars: I want to share my experience so others are aware of the policies before enrolling in the wellness program. Four days before the program started, our health insurance unexpectedly changed because my spouse's employer switched carriers very quickly. Around the same time, my grandmother began actively passing. I was one of her primary caregivers and spent nearly two weeks by her side while she was dying. Despite communicating these circumstances, there was no compassion or flexibility from the program. They also ended up charging my card a $200 bio fee, which really left a bad taste in my mouth considering everything I had been communicating with them. They asked me to respond by March 6 about my insurance, which I did by updating my information through the patient gateway on March 6. I was later told they don't check the patient gateway, which makes me question why patients are asked to use it in the first place. The class itself also felt overfilled, with not enough space or equipment for everyone to participate as advertised. When I asked if I could transfer to the next weight-loss program due to these circumstances, I was denied, but was told I could continue with dietitian visits. If I had only wanted dietitian visits, I wouldn't have signed up for a structured wellness program. The gym itself is fantastic, and I would absolutely encourage people to enjoy the facility and even start their own program using the many resources available online. However, I would strongly encourage anyone considering the wellness program to carefully review their policies before signing up.

The also offer childcare if you need it and are a good birthday party spot. I'm disappointed that The Juicery, which was a useful installation, is no longer there so there are no longer juices and smoothies available for sale. They only sell drinks now. The locker rooms are usually relatively clean; however, sometimes I'll find hair in the shower which grosses me out, but most of the time I feel good about showering in there. The rates tend to be expensive, but the cost is middle of the road compared to other gyms of which I've been a member. More than Planet Fitness but less than Seacoast Athletic Club (gold's gym) in Portsmouth.

I was a long-term customer there, with a regular weekly schedule and LOVED the class itself and my usual instructor. The owner very recently downsized to a small studio which made for some really inconvenient changes that are really hard to ignore. The first is parking, the old location had a decent amount available, but the new space in the State Theatre building does make it challenging if you're commuting. The second is the price hike. I used to get my 5 class pass for barre only for $55, which was a steal. Totally would have been okay with a reasonable update to align with competitors but it was hiked to $100 for a 5 class pass, which is really unreasonable in my opinion. Granted this price includes reformer and barre, but for someone who doesn't do reformer classes it's definitely not worth it. The last piece is the class times. They used to have a wide variety and I always had at least 4-6 people in my 5:30p classes. The new space only has classes until 12-12:30 which is truly not helpful for people with jobs! Overall, still a huge fan of barsculpt as a class but not a fan of the new space or business practices.

I like this place so much I bought a gift certificate for a friend so she could join me. She now goes as much as I do. She LOVES it. Confession: for a long time, I did not exercise (other than walking everywhere) because I found it boring. The workouts at Barsculpt always change. It is truly never the same thing twice. It's always a challenge. Going to Barscuplt not only help me get in the best shape of my life, it has help me calm down, feel centered, and more connected to the community of Portland. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
