I removed a star because of a few major issues I had with my first apartment there, although management was quick to remedy them. Also, most fixtures and furnishes are good quality, however the 'wooden' floors scratched so easily I was afraid to do a lot on them. If anyone is looking for an apartment in this area I'd recommend it. The price is right, the apartments are nice, and management is the best. The apartments are in large and very high-end in regards to flooring, lighting, granite countertops with spacious rooms and balconies available! It is a very secure building with underground parking and exceptional views of the sunset and sunrise. It is literally one block from the heartbeat of the Central West End! There are monthly social events and a wonderful clientele! If you have a dog there is a bath/grooming area, coffee/tea bar and truly exceptional rooftop with hot tubs, Weber grills, 360 views and tons of space inside and out with games, TVs and more!! However, as I began to socialize and spend more time around the building, I became increasingly concerned about the professionalism and conduct of certain individuals working behind the lobby desk. In my opinion, majority of their behavior came across as predatory and lacking appropriate self-control or social awareness, which made interactions uncomfortable. I also had concerns about the background and professionalism of some members of the maintenance and leasing staff. It often seemed as though individuals with questionable pasts were being placed in positions of responsibility within a building that markets itself as "luxury." While I believe people deserve second chances, I did not always feel confident in the competence or professionalism of the maintenance work being done inside residents' units. Another major issue was the cleanliness and general condition of the building's common areas. The hallways frequently had strong and unpleasant odors, including body odor, vomit, and marijuana, which created an uncomfortable living environment. Additionally, it often appeared that the leasing office was not particularly selective about who was allowed to live in the building. There were times when the environment and the individuals coming and going made both me and my friends feel unsafe. From my perspective, many concerns seemed to be overlooked or swept under the rug rather than properly addressed, which reflects broader issues with how the building is managed. Management leadership, particularly Julie, was especially disappointing. In my opinion, there was little effort to uphold higher standards when it came to staff professionalism, tenant oversight, or maintaining the building's overall cleanliness and appearance. Living at Gentry's Landing is ultimately a personal choice, but based on my experience, I would caution prospective residents to carefully consider whether the environment, management practices, and overall standards align with what they expect from a place to live.

Shannon (Property Manager) is exceptional. She is professional, attentive, and genuinely cares about residents' comfort. Gavin from the leasing office is always helpful and responsive. Jeremy (maintenance) does outstanding, precise work, and Layton keeps the grounds and balconies looking great. During a recent visit, the team did an amazing job power washing both balconies, cleaning windows, and making sure everything in the apartment was perfect. A close second is the staff here..... they are every friendly and quick to treat you like family! ...... Always quick to make repairs and solve any upstairs neighbor noise issues. Along with the beautiful pool, parking garage that is almost done being remodeled, ups fedx usps package drop off and pick up, and a security guard at the gate at night. I love the high ceilings management was VERY nice and quick to respond to everything that I had questions on. I LOVE the controlled access both to get in the building and on the floor you live on keeps the dwellers away that shouldn't be in your areas. Also, cover parking!! No shoveling out in the winter, although the garage is a little tight so if you have a big car it is a little hard to get around. It does have a club below it but I don't really hear it much. This is more of a college building so if you are a professional expect to hear a few hollers when the weekend roll around. Which this is about the only complaint I have about this place. the noise level of your neighbors isn't overwhelming but I find it annoying. You get a free membership to a work out area when signing so that's a plus! And these apartments are right next to slu, down the road from CWE and have plenty of late night eats near you. Not every community you choose to live in, no matter how much you spend in monthly rent, is this way. My car got broken into twice in the parking lot of this building but the management wasn't very rude and didn't offer any help. They made it sound like that it can happen any where in Saint Louis , so it's not their problem. My sister sent me a gift card for my son. They received the package and when I went to pick it up, they said they lost it and were looking into it . Later I was told by the management that I should reach our to the gift card company as they are not responsible for any lost or stolen packages. People from the building will randomly drop into your apartment without even knocking at the door , calling or emailing you, no matter what you tell them. If you are single and don't care about your privacy it might be a good option but if you have family and privacy and safety is important for you, never choose this place. Coffee machine at the entrance hasn't been working 80% of my time here. I wish there was a negative review option and I will have chosen that. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
