Caper Beach Club  Unit C311…read more Dear Owners of C311, Your condo is spacious, comfortable, clean, functional, and lovely.  We regret staying at The Caper Beach Club 3/22-3/29/25.  According to Diana (front desk employee) my family and I are, 'bad customers'. We're bad customers because our 5 & 6 year old boys were playing basketball with a floating toy we brought from home. See picture. Diana told us that the toy violated a pool rule, but suggested our children and their new friends should play with that toy on the small grass area next to the standing water and service street. (By the way, it's gross to walk around standing water to enter/exit the pool area.) Here are the pool rules that are most challenging for families: -No inflatables -No flotations -No ball playing Seriously, at a pool?? What if your kid can't swim? Who wrote and approved these? The same people who collect 20% of all rental income for the building? Yep, those grumpy anti-kid patrol curmudgeons who complain to the front desk. They're unliked by the rest of the property owners, and obviously us renters who selected this location because it seemed like a good place for families. On 3/27 the whole building was displaced due to no electricity and no water. Unbelievable. They hung these notes on our doors. We understand that sometimes unfortunate things can occur. When we asked Diana about compensation, or discounted options for us to have lunch, etc. they told us they were not responsible and would doing anything for renters.  Diana told us we could use the pool during that time- BUT the condo owners we met at the pool told us the pool's electric filtration system will not work and to stay out of the pool. (The same outage situation occurred a just before our arrival.) Thanks to the folks at Pink Shell for giving my family a discounted rate for a day pass. We appreciate the Fort Myers Beach hospitality.  We support Fort Myers Beach. We were excited to visit again after a couple of missed years. Our favorite places are Bay to Beach, Salty Sam's Pirate Cruise, Nervous Nellie's, Junkaroo on the Beach and so many more.  We'll be back to Fort Myers Beach, but will not stay at Caper Beach Club again.

The Resort like entrance and Lobby were impressive. Upon check in we were offered a glass of Champagne and Concierge was great providing recommendations. Our room was in the main building which was great as it was on the top floor and the balcony faced the pool. Spacious room with a king size bed and the bathroom was roomy with a separate shower and tub sadly one vanity sink and lighting in the bathroom needs help. The king size bed was a bit hard and after one night it was a bit rough, thankfully if you request it the hotel does have mattress topper that makes it so much better. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and courteous. There are 2 ( The London Club & The Claw Bar ) restaurants located in the hotel and I ate in both. Reservations can be made in the hotel and Open Table. The food was good unfortunately both restaurants have the same menu. There is a 3rd ComplimentaryComplimentary(sister) restaurant associated with the hotel - Syrens's which is located a few blocks away and easy to get to with complimentary shuttle service within a 3 mile radius. The hotel also has Complimentary use of the bicycles parked in front of the hotel. Daily continental breakfast - pastries, some fruit and coffee I was advised that if a future stay is in the future to contact the hotel directly for a repeat guest for a discount.

The best part about it, in my opinion, is the unobstructed view of the ocean at sunset. On our first night staying in the resort, we opted for a sunset dinner here. I ordered the tuna crudo to share with the family as well as the grilled shrimp louie salad. That salad was almost like a seafood cobb, and I loved it. I also enjoyed a very crispy dirty martini. The only con about beach house is that is closes at 9 pm. Kind of wild to be a dining destination in a resort and close right after sunset (around 8:30 in the summer months). It would be awesome if at least the bar was open to enjoy a drink a bit later, especially because one moves slower on Island time which means later dinners. Our server, Mara, was awesome. Super friendly and made our experience great. The outdoor area of the restaurant also has some nice chairs and firepits to hang with a drink.

The bathroom had signs of mold and mildew, corners of the bathroom were deteriorated due to moisture and soft and plaster was falling. The actual shower had a mix of grout that had broken off and sand from a prior guest. Every morning, I'd be greeted with a roach in the common area/kitchen. I can understand being close to the beach and pests can be an issue but over a short weekend stay, it was about 5-6 roaches that I had to dispose of. Location was amazing but the actual inn was disappointing.

The accompanied vegetables were ok and the potato spread or grits-thing (??) was a bit bland. Service: the bar service was quick and very attentive. They have a full bar and Friday nights the place is packed so the service gets a bit slower (understandably). Overall: I recommend this place for dinner if you're staying at the hotel. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here if I wasn't staying at the Hyatt but as for hotel restaurants go, this one was memorable.

They also had a free breakfast. I'm not much for breakfast and only had cereal and coffee, but it looked to be well stocked with the usual fare. Decent size eating area. My only complaint was I had booked a King room, but was given 2 queens. The place was booked solid. I was annoyed but since I was alone I didn't complain. Staff was friendly. The keyword for this place (for me) was CLEAN. I've done my share of traveling around the world and spent everywhere from $10 to 100's and as long as they're clean and bugfree I'm pretty much happy. Naples Inn fit the bill. I was in and out and it seemed almost every time I came or went the lobby floor was freshly mopped. I have no problem recommending this place.
