She is easily approachable and goes out of her way to help you. I had several experiences with office managers in other apartments who outright decline certain requests like keeping a delivered package/documents safe while you are traveling or when moved out. But, Annette helps you out with everything (maintainence and non maintainence stuff). Also, you can easily reach out to her via email or texts and she always responds right away. Coming to maintainence issues, I hardly had any during my 3 year stay. If you are someone who cooks often like me, food needs to be in the cabinets or refrigerator but no pest issues. Apartments are clean and well maintained. Walls are thin but neighbors never raised any issues or concerns for me. No parties or theft concerns as well. Overall, I would easily choose to stay here again.

Common spaces are also cleaned and vaccumed regularly. Owner Tim contacted my wife and I personally and addressed our previous concerns. Pat the Property Manager was instrumental in making our living here wonderful. For the price, this apartment is by far one of the best we have seem. Beautiful landscaping-the grounds are nicely kept. Plenty of parking. No small kids/family living here- from what we can see. Buildings are well maintained. Common areas are inviting. Staff are friendly and helpful. Most the neighbors seemed friendly.

I've lived in the main building for over a year. Really, it's an awesome place, especially for the…read morearea. These apartments are in a renovated historic building: the Ames Manufacturing building. Ames is primarily known for making swords during the Civil War. The exterior is original, and very well maintained. The interior features the massive wood beams. Location: The building is situated between the Chicopee River and the Canal (even with it's own walk along the canal.) It's centrally located to downtown Chicopee with good restaurants within a short walking distance. Often there are people fishing in the river (does not affect us but is cool to see). The Chicopee Canal Walk is across from the building and extends past the canal onto an easy walking trail alongside the Chicopee River. Four miles round-trip. The area is very safe. Amenities: Laundry facilities are on every floor and priced decently for coin-fed machines. The "gym" is very small. The only thing worth using in my opinion is the treadmills. It's also kept clean. There are two elevators. Also provided aregrocery carts which are very helpful after shopping, for taking recycling out, and for moving small things in. Garbage chutes on each floor drop to a trash compactor making disposal easy. Window air conditioners are provided free of charge for each apartment and must be installed by maintenance because of the historic regulations. If the unit breaks, maintenance either repairs or replaces the unit. (I just got a brand new one!) The leasing manager and maintenance staff are very friendly and helpful. Any issues are promptly handled and done right the first time. There's notices placed for any planned outages or services affecting tenants. The parking lot is plowed frequently during snow storms and the landscaping is well-kept. There is no waiting list for available apartments; it's all in the timing. The other tenants are friendly, say hello, hold doors and elevators. I've not met a single rude person yet. Some have been here for many years. Cons: Because of the historic aspect, there is only one door in and out of the apartment, into an interior hallway. Very pretty but somewhat reminds me of an upper scale extended stay hotel. There is no individual patio or porch so no grilling or outdoor plants. And because of the design, very few apartments can get much airflow as the windows (massive size) are all located on the same side. Another con is temporary but for the next 2 1/2 years so I must mention it. Currently one of the two ways to get into the parking lot is closed; it is the quickest on/off the highway. This is due to construction to rebuilt the Davitt Bridge across the Chicopee River. So for now all traffic must go through downtown. That can be adjusted to. However, depending on where the apartment is, construction noise begins, often quite loudly, at 7 AM sharp. The good thing about it is that there's no traffic worry upon exiting the parking lot as this is the only business/residence that needs access to the road.

They do not vacuum or clean the hallways. I wash my windows all the time but it never shows as the outside of the windows are dirty. I do not know why they do not hire a company to wash windows like other buildings do. I keep my apartment clean but I am embarrassed to have people visit as the grounds are not kept up. Trash is all over, not only around the dumpsters but everywhere on the property. I would not want my worst enemy living here. Many times I know people, whether friends or acquaintances how it is living here. I tell them it is the worst and they DO NOT want to move here. They need to find a place that is beautiful and people are caring as you will not find that here. I got sick not long ago in the hallway. When I got to the ER they were wondering what was on me. It was from the rugs in the hall. If they are not going to even take care of the rugs then rip them up. WORST MISTAKE I MADE WAS MOVING HERE! NEVER AGAIN!!

From inadequate office employees…read moresuch as the retiree Connie or Rebecca the new sales person and rent collector to constant police presence multiple raids in apartments or being blocked in as you are trying to get to work on multiple occasions incompacotated neighbors who have illegally parked. The parking situation is a free for all, my car was side swiped, packages went missing and there were constant bugs even a bat once in my neighbors apartment due to refusal to change screens or fix small holes in the wall. Country Manor has recently began to prey on young professional adults as rent is over priced, any call for service is pushed off, the emergency number does not answer even if there is a flood in your apartment. Upon move out we were billed for a light bulb and a loose cabinet door. I do feel bad for Tim the maintenance manager who always does his best. He is surrounded by inadequacy, laziness and people who couldn't careless they're charging 2k plus for low level living conditions. Stay away. 2 years was 2 years too long. Do yourself a a favor and stay away from country manor/aspen square as they believe they can do whatever and charge whatever without repercussions.

Pros (not in order of importance just so you can see there are more than the cons): 1- perfect size for 1 person and fur child. 2- quiet community ( meaning no loud parties or commotion outside). 3- Connie and Dan have been extremely helpful since I've moved in. 4- the location is great! Walking distance to a handful of places. There's several gas stations close by, a grocery store around the corner, banks, easy access to highways. 5- access to buildings is restricted 6- pet friendly (some restrictions, contact the office) 7- they have online portal for rent payments, work orders, and they have the ability to text you. They also use a phone and email communication to notify residents of things. (Resident events, neighborhood construction, snow removal, etc) 8- living room has a big window, so a lot of natural light. 9- optional storage available 10- nice layout if you like an open concept. 11- bedroom layout is great. The dual closets in the bedroom are nice. I still have a queen bed in my room and a very large dresser, bookcase and bench to sit on. 12- there are several options for storage in the apartment. You just have to get creative when setting up your home. I recommend bins, shelving units, and organizers. 13- my electric bill has never been over $34 and hot water and heat are included. Cons: 1- Parking can be limited and some people are not considerate and park in 2 spaces or outside the lines. 2- Washer and dryer are not in the apartment. Sometimes when using the building laundry people move my laundry to the top of the machines. Gross. Some additional information that does not bother me either way. My stove and dishwasher are the smaller size, which I knew I'd have before moving in. I am able to cook and bake with my normal sized dishes and cookware. The dishwasher is big enough for one person and is perfect. Let's just be honest with some information. It is community living, and some reviews I read before moving in complained of noise. I do hear my upstairs neighbor walking on occasion. But I understand it's an apartment and that does not prevent me from sleeping, relaxing, and enjoying my home. I can honestly say I have never heard my neighbor I share a living room wall with. I am in a 1 bedroom so I don't have a family above or beside me, which I'm sure can have a different outcome. But I am very happy with my home and where I live.
